In the start, I didn't trust him.

Now, you might say. But Percy, you trusted Piper and Leo. Yeah, that's because they were seven. Seven-year-olds don't try to trick you.

Also, Jason Grace was supposed to be seven right now. Not fourteen.

Still, demigods help demigods, so I let him be.

Then, one night, he started singing.

"~We're lost in the woods, somewhere in New Jersey, and we're never going to make it to LA~,"

I slipped.

"From the PJO musical?" I chuckled. "Nice taste."

"Yeah. The songs are pure masterpieces."

Both of us froze. Slowly, we turned to face each other.

Jason (was he even Jason anymore) tried for a smile. "So that makes the two of us."

I pressed my blade to his neck.

"Who the hell are you?"

"I am Jason. I'm Jason, in the same way that you are Percy. We both died, and we got reincarnated, and I think we better work together, since we both know what happens."

"You're not supposed to be this old."

"Nor are you," he countered. But he sighed and explained anyway. "Somehow, someway, the universe created a paradox, and we were born. I switched places with Thalia, who is now the younger Roman sibling, while I'm the older Greek sibling."

"Let me get this straight," I said. "You're Jason Grace, son of Zeus, and your younger sister is Thalia Grace, daughter of Jupiter."

"Pretty much."

"So now what?"

"We go to Camp."

"No, no, no way. Your dad would kill me."

"He could kill you right now, but he hasn't. And isn't Camp neutral territory?"

"This is Lightning Pants we're talking about."

"Fine. But what about Piper and Leo? They can't spend their life on the streets, they're kids."

I caved.

We left for Camp.

Both mine and Jason's sixteenth birthdays came and went without any Olympus-threatening incident. That worried me. If Percy (I) wasn't the prophecy child, then who was? It wasn't Jason either.

At least the looming threat of the Olympians killing us out of fear went away. Not that our uncles or Hera wouldn't want to kill us anyway.

Reaching Camp had taken a whole year (Jase had joined the little group a year after Pipes). It was mostly because of the monsters, and our lack of money.

I would forever be indebted to Piper for charmspeaking people into giving us their belongings (like cars, wallets, you know, the normal). Also, Jason insisted that he and I take a driving test after we turned sixteen. Of course, we didn't have a lot of time, so Piper charmspoke the instructors into, you know, passing us with a perfect grade.

I've gotten really desensitized to committing felonies at this point. Hey, we were doing it for survival!

A pine tree and a strawberry field came into view.

We were at our destination.
