Just a little fantasy vignette. A possible unseen ending to S3E5 ("The Holly Bears A Prickle," a.k.a. "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do")

This is my first venture into fan fiction. Other authors have explored the Martin-Louisa relationship so well already but I just couldn't resist having some fun with Martin. So this is my take on S2E8, a day in the life of DM in four parts. Please be aware this is rated M, not because of the first chapter but later on.

When Martin called Louisa in the taxi as she was on the way to the airport telling her not to get on the plane, she said they had been through this. I wondered how that conversation could have gone. This very short story is set in series six, after the end of episode seven and before the beginning of episode eight...so possible spoilers if you have not yet seen series six.

That is until a chance meeting with a handsome but goofy police constable provides her with the chance she needs to prove herself and practice her calling again. Story begins year or so after Season 6.

James is seven years old and has one of his bad moments. Martin and Louisa have to put him straight, which leads to an interesting man-to-man talk. Warning: There's a short reference to S6

The story takes place about 6 months following Series 6. Martin and Louisa have embarked on couple's counseling, and their second session takes place on Valentine's Day

Set sometime after the end of season 6. Martin and Louisa go out to dinner

Even a grouch needs love ... Martin and Louisa are trying to be kinder to each other. I am a fan who believes people can change and I wrote this story to show that they are learning to get along. But it is so difficult for Martin to tell Louisa he loves her.
