I know some are waiting for an update, but due to some unseen events in my life, this account will go dead, I'm not deleting it, but I won't be updating anymore, I'm so sorry about this, but I've lost all drive to continue this story, and so I again apologize for letting you all down.
However, if you want to continue on your own you may do so as you wish, you have my full permission and support in doing so, you can rewrite it as you see fit, or you can continue on as is, but my best friend will be posting this story and continuing it in AO3, under the penname leo_celestial, I hope you'll like his edits and his version just as you liked mines.
Now I won't go into detail about what's happening but I will let you all know how this story was intended to go:
-Alexis was going to bring back Freya a month or so later, around the same time that Vladimir was going to bring Dahlia back
-Alexis, Freya, Cedric, and Viktor go to Mystic Falls and reunite with Henry and the rest of the gang.
-There was a flashback scene that would've shown how Freya and Alexis met, as well as how Freya and Henrik encountered one another briefly
-Kai and the Gemini coven would've had a bigger role in the story and in the Doppelganger curse, which would've actually been a curse, something that would've affected Elena more differently given that she's the last 'human' doppelganger of Amara (Tom wouldn't be in this fic)
-Silas, Quetsiyah, and Amara would've had bigger roles as well
-Hayley would've still gotten pregnant by Klaus and Hope would've still been part of the story, except the cause and the impact that would've had would be much bigger, and resulted in a greater threat from rising
-In the true confrontation which would've ended the first season of this story (I wanted to make it a series with 5 or so 'seasons' with different elements of both shows) it would've been Dahlia and Vladimir with their arm of wizards and vampires, against the Mystic Falls gang, with Alexis dying, and Henrik taking over Alexis' body, the next season would've been Harry's grief and dealing with Alexis' death and Henrik's possession of Alexis' body. It would've also introduced the next evil which would've been the Gemini coven
-Ultimately in the first season, Alexis, Vladimir, Esther, Dahlia, and Tyler would've all died in the battle.
The true final pairings would've stayed relatively the same, except for some changes;
