Pacing the empty street Duncan cleared his mind of all thoughts but one. He pictured the Mysterious Tower his home away from home. The meeting place for the warriors of light stood vividly in his vision as he raised his hand. A dark corridor formed as he raised his palm the shadows swirling to his whim. Through the void, the tower could be seen the image becoming slowly clearer by the second. Once the vortex had completely opened his eyes snapped wide. From inside the pathway, the golden eyes of shadows peered out clicking with excitement.

"Merida looks like it's time to go." He mumbled

At his side, she nodded looking through the vortex eyes locked on the tower. Sharing a mute nod they stepped into the corridor eyes locked on their goal. Ignoring the creeping shadows they strolled through the pathway. Just as their goal was mere steps away a group of Neo Shadow jumped in their path. Before they could summon their weapons a blast of flame-roasted the pack of heartless. As the smoke cleared Aqua came into view at the opposite end of the tunnel. With a gentle shove, she directed them from the dark corridor before slicing it closed with a swing of her keyblade. Turning to she sighed through her nose letting her blade vanish.

"What is your right mind made you think that was a good idea?" Aqua asked

"I wasn't something just told me to hold out my hand and that happened," Duncan admitted sheepishly

Aqua could only stare into the eyes of her son at his words. Darkness was in his genes after the events of the second keyblade war but this was strange. Looking into his eyes they now looked like that of a stranger like something was off. Raising a brow she noted their curious lack of a gummyship as they simply nervously smiled at her. Shuffling their feet awkwardly they shrugged in confusion wearing matching grimaces. Letting out a sigh she smashed her forehead. Sliding into her desk chair she sighed crossing her arms over her chest.

"How did you break your gummyship?" she asked

"Mom that's a funny story trust," Duncan said with a weak laugh

"Enlighten me," Aqua said voice like that of a stern mother

With a heavy thump, Vanitas hit the ground looking up at the blue sky. The sky was full of soft cotton clouds that seemed to drift along the breeze blowing through the trees. Looking around he found himself laying in a bed of colorful flowers. His dark colors contrasted the bright rainbow of the flowers he laid in.

In the branches around him, various woodland creatures had gathered watching him from a distance. At the sound of footsteps, he sprang up summoning the Void Gear. Glaring into the distance he slowly stepped closer to the source of the sound.

"What manner of darkness wielder has come to my world?" A woman's voice asked

"Uh, Vanitas Warrior of darkness." Vanitas quipped

Once the words had left his lips a blast of blue magic knocked him backward. Looking up from his place on the ground he found Evie stepping from the treeline another spell ready to be thrown. Rolling to his feet Vanitas stared at the princess.

"Alright, you wanna play princess ?" He inquired

Firing off her next spell Evie jumped backward. Before the spell could hit Vanitas deflected the blast back. The blue spell rushed into the sky cutting through the clouds. Dashing Evie formed a blade of magic. Slashing at the dark warrior she cut his cheek. Touching his wound he knocked her away with a kick.

"I won't let the darkness take my world." she spat

"Beg pardon?" Vanitas asked raising a brow

Blinking in confusion Evie stood watching the shadowy visitor. He made no move to attack her. Letting her blade vanishes she stepped back. With a quiet huff, he let his weapon vanish. Smirking slyly he crossed his arms winking at her.

"You didn't come here to plunge me world into Darkness did you?" she questioned

"Trust me if I wanted to do that you'd know," he replied

Turning on her heels she started back the way she came. With a weak shrug, he silently followed her on her journey home. Reaching the stone path leading to the castle she paused. spinning on her toes she jumped in surprise at the sight of Vanitas.

"What're you doing here?" she asked in shock

"Following you seemed like a decent idea besides pestering you is kinda fun." He replied with a chuckle

"Daughter I told you to stop bringing home wild animals."

At the insult, Vanitas growled in retaliation. Slowly the blue-clad process turned nervously smiling. At the other end of the path stood her mother. The Evil Queen stood face set in a humorless sneer. Stepping between the two Vanitas rested against the guard rail.

"I promise you, your Highness I'm house trained." He muttered with a grin

"Fine but behave yourself." The evil queen muttered

With a dismissive wave, the queen turned to make her way inside. The princess sighed motioned toward the door. Grinning at her the dark warrior made his way inside. Slowly she followed him her mind racing. Was letting this man into her home a bad idea?
