Landing on Monressor the trio departed Jim's ship. As the hatch opened they were met with a surprise. Standing on the loading dock stood a young woman. She wore the garb of a naval captain hat tipped upward. Her honey eyes were locked on Jim as he stepped backward.
"Kate?" He whispered
"Captain Fireheart to you Hawkins." She corrected
With a weak smile, she removed her hat brushing back her hair. Her hair was as red as a glowing flame curling to her shoulders. Her eyes snapped to Vanitas like a police dog on the hunt. Shifting to a predatory glare she spoke pointing a single finger at him.
"Keep an eye on that one he seems shifty." She ordered
"Shifty, girl I'm a lot worse than shift!" Vanitas snarled
"Hush before you get yourself arrested," Evie growled smacking his arm
With a quiet huff, the darkness wielder turned away. His focus moved to the bustling town. He had expected this world to less populated. A grin came to his face as he rocked on his heels.
"This is perfect."He whispered
The captain slowly darted her eyes back to Vanitas. She seemed to study as if he were some sort of wild beast. Slowly she turned to Evie her smile shifting. Her smile turned welcoming her eyes showing concern.
"So what brings you to Montressor?" She asked
"Traveling," Vanitas replied bluntly
Her eyes moved to Jim as he sat on a barrel. He sat counting his spoils from the Port Royal card game. Plucking out a ring he smiled. It was decorated with a bright red gem with a golden band.
Securing his bounty Jim stood Kate moving in his path. Before she could question him he flicked the ring. With ease, she stepped back catching it. Taking his opportunity Jim bolted up the dock.
"Are you coming or are you just gonna stand there?" Jim yelled
Without hesitation, the pair followed Jim up the dock. Kate was left awestruck cradling the ring. A bright pink blush dusted her cheeks as she looked down at the jewelry.
"Curse you, Hawkins." She whispered
Olivia spun launching a firm kick into Loz's ribs. Smirking he flipped spinning to send his own kick. Blocking she slid digging in her heels. Growling she shoved him away sending him skidding across the sand. Rising he spat up blood grinning evilly.
"You remind me of that woman from years ago." He said with a weak chuckle
This girl fought too much like her for it to be a coincidence. Just as he was about to hit her she moved. He didn't have time to blink as he sent into the air. As he fell she jumped fist cloaked in flame. Just as her attack was about to land the image of Tifa flashed over Olivia.
"I'm not in the mood to play your games ." She said in an emotionless voice
As she hit the ground her attention turned to Kadaj. The final brother was having trouble fighting off the young keyblade wielders. His attacks were almost erratic as he attempted to block them both.
"Brothers help would be appreciated!' He yelled
Blocking the next pair of oncoming strikes he paused. His brothers had been defeated. Jumping back he hit his opponents with a blast of dark Firaraga. Before the attack could land the pair were enveloped in a red swirl. Appearing behind Kadaj the pair tapped their blades to his back.
"If you like living I'd start talking," Lucas growled loading his gun
"Your empty threats mean nothing to me!" Kadaj snapped
"We killed your brothers does it look like we're just threatening you?" Dunstan added
Kadaj paled at the sound of the click of a pistol. The cold chill of the barrel resting against the side of his head. His eye darted to Lucas to be with a subtle grin. The glint in this guy told him he wanted to pull the trigger. Clinching his eyes shut he took in a deep breath.
"We came here for the Proto Materia, Lady Maleficent wanted to harness its power!" He blurted
"Good to know," Lucas muttered
With a loud BANG, he pulled the trigger. As Kadaj faded away everyone turned to him in shock. Spinning his gun he looked to Olivia who shared his nod. Slowly she approached him touching his chest frowning. As a blue aura radiated from his chest she spoke.
"We need to leave." She whispered
leaping skyward Sephiroth plunged his blade into the stone. Perching atop his weapon he summoned a large fireball. With a flick of his wrist he threw the orb. Rushing through the air the spell was sliced in two.
With another jump, the one-winged angel dodged. The blade had narrowly missed his head. The sound of a shriek caught Sephiroth off guard. He turned in time to see the mysterious keyblade return to its user.
"Did you really think I'd waste my time with you?" The hood man chuckled
In the man's rested the flame Hades had given Maleficent. Without hesitation, he touched the flame to the blade's eye. The eye glowed bright blue before returning to normal. His eye flashed to Sephiroth an ominous glint shinning from it.
"Now where that brat Sora ?" The hooded man asked
"Dead, Vanitas killed him months ago." Sephiroth said simply
"That could be a problem." The masked man grumbled turning away
An echoing rumble knocked Goofy from his nap. Sitting up on the palace lawn the captain of the guard smiled. Jumping to his feet he made his way over to the Gummyship bay. As the doors to the hedge castle opened he could only smile. He was met with his son trying to restrain a look of frustration.
"Maxie you're back how's your adventure goin'? You're stayin' safe I hope." Goofy mumbled smiling at his son
"It's going fine pop usual adventure troubles, Heartless unversed you know. Is Donald around we need to ask him something." Maxie said smiling quickly
"You must be really desperate if you need my help." came a loud quack
Turning they were met with Donald standing behind Goofy. The wizard was surrounded by his nephews each garbed in similar attire to their uncle. The trio held wands themed after each of the elemental spells.
"Wait so you want me to learn magic from a duck?" Iduna blurted stepping out
"Well yeah," Yozora muttered stepping behind
"Duck? I am a master Sorceror!" Donald yelled
"Sure Howard, and I'm a can use a keyblade." Iduna blurted
As she mockingly held out her hand a glow appeared. It looked like her father with the blade being made of ice. She held the weapon tight as she thought of her parents. Holding this weapon felt like they were here with her.
"Alright duck you win." she muttered
