Stepping into the main building of the castle Yozora sighed. His gaze moved to the elegant carpet. He could feel the eyes of the king watching every move. Reaching the top of the stairs he saw him. King Mickey stood with a look of scrutiny. The junior wielder felt unworthy in the presence of the king.

"Welcome Yozora, are your lessons going well?" Mickey asked

"More or less," Yozora whispered meekly

"Where's your confidence usually your so bold." Mickey wondered

In a flash, Yozora summoned the Kingdom Key. With a quiet clang, he tossed the blade. Bouncing the weapon stopped at the king's feet. Stepping back he finally looked the king in the eye. Slowly Mickey picked up the blade spinning it. Frowning he held it out to Yozora.

"Yozora you shouldn't just throw this away," Mickey said

"It doesn't belong to me it belongs to him," Yozora growled frowning

"I case you haven't noticed Sora isn't here anymore. He chose you to keep his legacy alive. Losing him hurt all of us, not just you." Mickey replied hurt in his voice

nodding Yozora took the Kingdom Key. Spinning the blade he smiled sadly. The warmth of holy magic seemed to fill his heart. Tossing the blade he caught it with ease letting it vanish. Shifting his gaze to King Mickey he was met with a smile.

"The keyblade thinks you're worthy and that's what counts," Mickey announced

"Oh my, so you're the one Sora chose."

Looking past Mickey the group found Queen Minnie. The queen wore a far more relaxed expression. She wore a motherly smile as she bowed to the group. To her surprise, the trio swiftly mirrored her bow. As they rose Minnie locked eyes with Iduna her smile shifting into a playful smirk.

"You've made some interesting friends Max," she said hiding a laugh behind her hand

"Yeah I have," Max mumbled glancing at his friends

"So your old boss wanted all this magic power to open some magic box?" Jim asked

"Sounds crazy when you put it that way," Vanitas muttered

The pair sat atop the damaged Benbow inn. Jim had convinced me to assist in some minor repairs. That had been at dawn now it was now noon. It took everything in his power not to push the young Hawkins off the roof.

"So this is where you've been all day."

At the voice jumped they nearly tumbled off the roof. Turning he was met with the sight of Evie. She stood on a platform of mystic energy. Looking over at them she held a picnic basket in one hand. The other hand rested on her hip as she grinned at them.

"Your mother wanted me to bring you something to eat." She said jumping to the roof

Sitting beside Vanitas she smiled at the pair. Like a ravenous animal, the darkness wielder scooped up the basket. Without hesitation, he preceded to pull out a sandwich of some sort.

"Thank Chernabog you brought food! Someone decided to drag me out without breakfast."Vanitas grumbled biting into the sandwich

"Just be glad someone thought to bring you food, normally I don't eat till I get home," Jim muttered snatching an apple from the basket

"Jim, what do you mean?" Evie asked concern strong in her voice

Jim's gaze moved to her before he frowned slightly. Then she saw it, the dark circles under his eyes and his slumped shoulders. With a sad sigh, she forced herself to ask the question.

"Jim are you rebuilding this place by yourself?" she asked

"Mostly yeah, I just want to make sure the job is done right." Jim yawned out biting into his apple

"And the money?" Vanitas asked raising a brow

"It's going to the repairs the crew won't start until tomorrow," Jim replied

"Well then let's see what we can get done before they get here." Evie chirped

Any comment Vanitas had died on his lip. Around them, the pieces of lumber move. Slowly they fell into place like a puzzle coming together. All that remained was the section of roof they perched on. They watched as the final pieces were placed beside Jim.

"I thought you would want to finish the job," Evie whispered

"That would have taken me weeks and you did it in minutes," Jim muttered standing

"Funny what magic can do isn't it Jim," Vanitas remarked

Shifting Vanitas helped Jim slot the final piece into place. Swiftly it was nailed in place and Jim let out a tired sigh. Turning to his new acquaintances he smiled weakly.

"I guess I should thank you for your help." He said taking another bite from his apple

"Or maybe you don't," Vanitas mumbled

"So you're agenda?"

"That's a good question."

Sephiroth turned to his new boss awaiting orders. This hooded man has yet to give him any form of direction. He could no longer sense his brothers among the various worlds. This did not bold well. Currently, his new boss sat on Maleficent's throne his feet resting on a trunk.

"My only goal is to open this here trunk," Luxu announced

"Why not use your keyblade in that case," Sephiroth remarked

Said keyblade rushed through the air narrowly missing him. As it returned to its master it sliced off part of his silver mane. Luxu let out a snicker of amusement as he caught his blade.

"You think I haven't tried that, I need the X-blade," Luxu grumbled

"But that weapon vanished with that boy," Sephiroth said confused

"No, he hid it before he perished we simply need his heir." Luxu corrected
