Alexander von Luthor

(Lex Luthor + Doctor Doom)

Biography: William Shakespeare once said, "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them." If you were to ask the Latvaznian (Latveria + Kaznia) dictator and CEO of Lexxon (Lexcorp + Roxxon) which one was he, he'd say none of the above. He'd tell you that he is greatness personified.

It all started in a Latvaznian Romani camp called South Zefiro (Southside + Zefiro Clan). South Zefiro was known throughout the rest of Latvaznia as the Suicide Slum, all because of it's close distance to Latvaznia's capital and the Romani-hating baron who ruled over the country. Despite the harsh conditions, his parents tried to raise Alexander, or simply Lex, the best that they could. His father, Lionel (Lionel Luthor + Werner von Doom) was a folk doctor, and his mother, Lillian (Lillian Luthor + Cynthia von Doom) a witch.

One day, Lillian struck a deal with the demon lord Mephiston (Mephisto + Neron) to take revenge on the baron and his men. But Mephiston betrayed her and Lillian's soul became his property. As if that wasn't bad enough, the baron's wife grew ill and demanded that Lionel cure her. When the doctor told him that there was nothing he could do, the Baron tried to arrest him.

Lionel and Lex fled into the woods on a cold winter's night. The two of them would've surely froze to death if a family friend of theirs hadn't found them and brought them back to the camp. The trauma of losing his wife and nearly dying in the woods drove Lionel to drink. Whenever he was drunk, he'd take out his pain and anger on his son. This costed him the respect of the camp, which made him drink even more.

The day came where Lex had had enough of this and killed his father while staging it as an accident. After his father was gone, Lex was free to explore his mother's trunk of mystical objects and realized that she was secretly a sorceress. At that moment, Alexander made a promise to both his parents. To his mother, he promised to master the mystic arts and save her from Mephiston's clutches. And to his father, he promised to be a better man than he could ever dream to be.

Lex spent the next few years inventing, studying magic, and scamming wealthy nobles. He did this by selling them seemingly fantastical devices that would break in only a matter of days. His truly impressive creations, he kept. Such as a robot duplicate of himself Alexander used to escape the firing squad. This would be the first of many Lex-bots.

Word of Lex' scientific achievements eventually reached America. Afterward, a scout from State University offered Lex a scholarship. He accepted and became roommates with another young, scientific genius, Reed Magnus (Mr. Fantastic + Will Magnus). Lex almost immediately disliked him.

Lex continued on his quest to rescue his mother and built a device that allowed him to communicate with her in Hell. Reed happened upon Lex' notes for the device and noticed a flaw with the calculations. When Reed pointed this out to him, Lex lashed out at him. He refused to believe he could possibly be wrong and demanded that Reed get out of his sight.

Lex activated his device and sure enough, Reed was right; the machine literally blew up in his face. Miraculously, the only injury Lex received were third-degree burns on his scalp, rendering him permanently bald. For conducting the experiment in secret and without authorization from the university, Lex was expelled from State U. Rather than admit he was wrong, Lex blamed Reed, accusing him of sabotaging the device.

Lex wandered the world before hearing of an order of monks hiding in the Tibetan mountains. Doom located their hidden society and surpassed them in all they knew in both sorcery and technology in just five years. The monks were so impressed, they made him their leader.

Lex decided that now was the time to get revenge on the baron responsible for his childhood misery. He ordered the monks to build him a suit of armor that would allow him to conquer Latvaznia singlehandedly. After returning to his homeland, Lex led the resistance; arming his fellow Romani suffering under the baron's rule before killing the man with his bare hands. In the end, Lex declared himself King of Latvaznia.

His first order of business was to pull his new kingdom out of poverty. Using what was left of the national treasury, Lex created his own company and declared himself CEO. Thanks to his brilliant business acumen, Lexxon became one of the most profitable multinational corporations in the world in almost no time at all, raking in billions of dollars a year. Billions that went into improving Latvaznia's infrastructure and turning the small European country into a superpower.

With his nation's wealth secured, Lex had just one goal left: revenge on Reed Magnus. Lex discovered that Reed had become leader of a team of mechanical superheroes called the Magnificent Men (Fantastic Four + Metal Men). Over time, Lex has constantly tried to destroy Reed and his newfound family, and every time, they thwarted him.

Every time Reed asked him why he was doing this, Lex would say it's to get revenge for sabotaging the device. In reality, this is just a lie Lex had forced himself to believe. The truth is, because it was Reed who noticed the mistake that led to the machine exploding and not Lex himself, it proved that Reed was smarter than him. And that, to Lex, was more abhorrent than anything else. His pride and ego were so enormous, he couldn't stomach the existence of anyone who was better than him in any way.

Then came a being who was better than him in every way. The Super-Soldier (Superman + Captain America) had returned, and it was only possible because of Reed Magnus. While the rest of the world welcomed his return, Lex immediately despised him. He was convinced that as long as Super-Soldier continues to exist, mankind would become weak, throwing away their potential to worship someone who had godhood handed to him. Lex believed that he himself is humanity's savior and he would prove that by destroying Super-Soldier and taking over the world.

As such, Lex built a Lexxon branch in Metropolis and appointed his right-hand woman, Mercy Agger (Mercy Graves + Dario Agger), in charge of it. With her running things in Super-Soldier's new home, Lex slowly began to take it away from him. He bought up properties and small businesses, made connections with the criminal underworld, and forced local media to portray him as a caring philanthropist. The only news source willing to stand up to him was the Planet Bugle (Daily Planet + Daily Bugle) newspaper and even then, Luthor would eventually own that too. Despite Super-Soldier's best attempts, Lex owned nearly all of Metropolis in just a matter of months.

Lex' Metropolis building was also used to create weapons and even villains designed to destroy Super-Soldier. Many times did Luthor's brain prove almost too much for the Sentinel of Steel's brawn. Originally, Lex' schemes to end him relied on Kryptonite, radioactive chunks of Super-Soldier's homeworld that causes Kryptonians intense pain and takes away their powers. But in an effort to prove his superiority, he decided to forgo the alien mineral in favor of beating him with his own intelligence.

The times the two of them would actually clash face-to-face began after the Avengers League (Avengers + Justice League) was formed. To counter this, Lex formed his own team of supervillains called the Masters of Doom (Masters of Evil + Legion of Doom) to fight them and, occasionally, try to take over the world.

But it wasn't just the Magnificent Men or Super-Soldier who has come to blows with Alexander von Luthor. Just about every superhero under the sun has battled him at least once and most of them were just lucky enough to have escaped with their lives.

Oftentimes, it has been proven that the only thing keeping Lex from total world domination is his own monstrous ego. It's actually not that difficult to argue that if Lex did conquer the world, everyone would be better off; the people of Latvaznia are happier and doing better than they have been in generations. But his own egomania prevents him from caring about anyone other than himself. If he could just let go of his petty vendettas and stop seeing the rest of mankind as beneath him, he would be the great hero he's always believed himself to be.

But as it stands, Lex' true mission has and always will be to stand above all living things. And the truly terrifying thing about him is that he possesses the power, the intelligence, and the will to do so. So long as Alexander von Luthor continues to covet power, the world, nay, the entire universe is doomed.

Powers & Abilities: Forged from titanium, Alexander von Luthor's armor has been constantly remade over and over again, to push the limits of what is possible through science alone. It's strong enough, fast enough, and tough enough to compete with Super-Soldier himself. It allows him to fly, fire energy blasts from his hands, and comes with multiple in-built weapons and gadgets including, but not limited to, a molecular expander, gauntlet blades, an electrical field that can cover his entire body or simply his hands, a laser staff that can infect machinery with a techno-virus, a giant hand of pure energy that he can summon at will, and a device that, upon contact, scrambles the nerves inside a person's brain.

But more impressive than all that is the suit's power source, the Mother Cube, (Mother Box + Cosmic Cube) a device that wasn't created by Lex but by the New Eternals (New Gods + Eternals) who are essentially alien gods. The Mother Cube is capable of many incredible feats, including turning matter into energy and energy into matter. Essentially, with enough training, anyone who has a Mother Cube can do basically anything. With his Mother Cube, Lex can summon the suit at will and repair it should it ever be damaged.

One could argue that it's the greatest piece of technology in the suit if it weren't for another machine that Lex himself built. After all, he wasn't going to let a bunch of aliens show him up. This is the cosmic power siphon. As the name suggests, it can steal cosmic power from beings that are considered gods even to other gods, making Luthor a threat to beings who can shake the entire universe and putting himself on the same level of power.

Outside of his armor, Lex uses plenty of other gadgets to aid him in battle such as a gun that fires anti-matter, bombs that trap people inside a chrome statue of themselves, bombs that rewind time a couple seconds for everything but Lex, a barrier that traps anyone it touches inside of it as a 2-dimensional being, and, of course, thousands upon thousands of Lex-bots. He also carries a bag of pebbles, mainly to throw them at people before using the suit's molecular expander to turn them into boulders.

Of course, Lex isn't simply a scientist. His skill over the mystic arts makes him one of the most powerful magic users in the universe, second only to Doctor Strangefate (Dr. Strange + Dr. Fate) the Sorcerer Supreme. Strangely, Lex doesn't mind this.

His standard magical array includes mystical energy blasts, force fields, teleportation, etc. He has also learned how to switch minds with people using a technique taught to him by an alien race called the Ovoids.

Appearance: Alexander von Luthor has Caucasian skin, green eyes and used to have brown hair before it was burnt off. Instead, his scalp is covered in third-degree burns which he always covers, mostly by his cloak.

Lex' titanium armor, designed to look similar to a medieval knight colored green, covers everything below his neck. Over his armor, he wears a purple tunic and hooded cloak, which he keeps in place with two yellow hexagonal medals connected by a gold chain. The medals are designed to appear cut into three equal pieces with purple lines. Lastly, he wears a simple brown, leather belt with a bag he uses to carry his inventions.
