Amazon

(Storm + Nubia)

Name: Ororo Nubia

Biograhpy: By now, you're probably aware of the origin story of Thunder Woman (Thor + Wonder Woman); how she was sculpted from clay on Asgard's shores and brought to life by her father, Odin after he was betrayed by the Amazons. What you do not know is that there was another, a daughter created from Odin's magic before Thorana.

It started right after Odin banished Themysceven (Themyscira + Heven) and the Amazons to the void. As he stood on Asgard's shores, he looked down and saw the dark clay under his feet. That was when he had the idea to build an heir rather than conceive one. He gathered together some clay, molded it into the form of an infant and then breathed life into it. That lump of clay became a beautiful baby girl with skin as brown as her eyes and hair as white as the moon.

Odin, too tired to even come up with a name, brought the infant back to his castle and laid her on her crib. He returned to the Odinsleep having no idea that the next time he would open his eyes, his daughter would be gone.

Ares, Son of Zeus, God of War and father of Hippolyta, was furious at Odin for taking his daughter away from him. He knew he lacked the power to beat Odin, let alone kill him. So instead, he decided to return the favor. Using his uncle Hades' Cap of Invisibility, he snuck into Odin's castle and stole his daughter as he slept. When he awoke and saw her missing, Odin sent his crows, Huginn and Muninn, all across the realms to find her. But alas, Hades' cap kept Ares and the baby untraceable even to them.

Once the search was called off, Ares left Odin's daughter to die in what would be the Serengeti Plain in Kenya. Even if she was a goddess, she was still just a baby; if she didn't die of thirst under intense African sun, the numerous predators that inhabited the plain would pick her bones clean. Luckily for her, an elderly woman named Ainet Nubia found her and returned to her village with the lost Asgardian in her arms. She decided to raise the infant as her own and named her Ororo.

As Ororo grew, her powers as an Asgardian came in. Even as a child, she was the strongest person in her village by far. And when she became thirteen, her power to control the weather manifested. When there was a drought, she would bring the rain. When wild animals threatened the village, she'd scare them off with lightning. By the time she reached adulthood, all the other villagers worshipped her as a goddess.

Thousands of years later, an outsider in a wheelchair approached Ororo. His name was Professor Niles Xavier (Professor X + The Chief) and he desperately needed her help. His students, the metamutant team known as the X-Patrol (X-Men + Doom Patrol), were trapped on a living island called Krakoa Krakoa Krakoa (Krakoa + Kooey Kooey Kooey). Booster Cable (Booster Gold + Cable) tried to open a hotel and casino on the island, not knowing it was alive.

He heard stories of a goddess who used the weather to protect a small village in Africa. He knew that this goddess was his best chance of saving them, so he came to ask for her help. Sympathetic and curious of the outside world, Ororo accepted and helped the X-Patrol escape from Krakoa Krakoa Krakoa unscathed. After that, she asked if she could join the team permanently.

Being outside of her home for the first time made her realize that she can help far more people as a hero of Earth rather than the goddess of a tiny village. The X-Patrol were more than happy to have her and gave her a name befitting of her strength and power, Amazon.

As part of the X-Patrol, Amazon has been on countless adventures. Some in space, some in other dimensions, or even in her home continent of Africa, where she would meet and eventually marry Zakanda's (Wakanda + Zambesi) queen, the Black Vixen (Black Panther + Vixen). But if there is one journey she would never forget, it's when Ororo finally returned to Asgard.

As part of another one of her schemes, Odin's fourth daughter, Cirki (Circe + Loki), transported Amazon and the rest of the X-Patrol to Asgard, unwittingly reuniting her with Odin. Odin immediately recognized Amazon as his long lost daughter, and welcomed her back home with open arms. He then used his magic to look into her memory so that he'd finally be able to find the face of her kidnapper.

Once he did, he headed straight for Mount Olympus with Ororo in tow. He demanded that Zeus punish Ares for taking his daughter. But as far as Zeus was concerned, since Odin sent Hippolyta and the other amazons into the void, they were even. Odin did not accept this and neither did Ororo. So she challenged the war god to one-on-one combat. Whoever lost would be forced to live in exile from their homelands; Olympus for Ares, Asgard and Earth for Ororo. Ares accepted.

Though he expected an easy challenge, Amazon did not spend three thousands years simply sitting on a throne. She had trained everyday in that village in hand-to-hand combat and joining the X-Patrol only made her train harder. So when the battle ended, it was Ares who laid on the ground, defeated.

After that, Odin and Amazon returned to Asgard, where her father asked if she'd like to stay, to have the life she should've had if it weren't for Ares. Amazon appreciated the offer, but declined. On Asgard, she'd be a princess, but on Earth, she was a hero. And she had another family that she's known for far longer at this point. One she couldn't leave behind. She assured him that she'd come visit from time to time, but Earth was her true home. Odin respected her decision, but before he would send her and the X-Patrol back to Earth, he insisted on giving her a weapon worthy of a goddess, the Staff of Understanding.

Even without being raised on Asgard, Ororo still became a goddess. But because she wasn't on Asgard, she became something more. She became a hero fighting for a better future. And she wouldn't change a thing.

Powers & Abilities: Born in much the same way as Thunder Woman, Amazon's strength, speed, and endurance rival that of the Goddess of Thunder. Very fitting for the Goddess of Storms. However, unlike her sister, Amazon doesn't rely on a weapon but rather, is able to command the weather through sheer force of will.

All atmospheric conditions around the world are hers to command. Storms, blizzards, tornados, hurricanes, tsunamis, all are hers to control and can be summoned anywhere on a whim, even if she's not on Earth. She can even sense any change in the weather anywhere on the planet and change it however she likes no matter how far away she is.

This ability is not just powerful but also precise. She can manipulate the wind to grant herself flight, suck the air out of a person's lungs, manipulate the electrical signals in a person's brain to induce seizures or shoot lightning and gusts of wind from her hands.

Don't think she relies solely on her powers in a fight though. Amazon has spent three thousand years training in hand-to-hand combat, to the point that she can even outmatch a war god in a one-on-one brawl.

Lastly, she was given the Staff of Understanding by her father, Odin. When wielded, the staff can be used in its original form, a spear, or transform into a lasso with unlimited range. The staff has the power to manifest the intention of its wielder.

Appearance: Ororo has brown skin, white hair and brown eyes which tend to turn completely white whenever she's manipulating the weather.

Her X-Patrol uniform consists of white armor that covers everything below her neck except her hands. The armor has a golden belt, wristbands, and an etching of a lightning bolt which starts from the left side of her neck and ends at her right hip.

She also wears a white cape with golden edges that's held in place by her wristbands as well as the two circular emblems under her collarbones. Both emblems have a black border with a black "X" in the middle, with all remaining space inside being completely red.
