Name: Barbara Lance

Biography: Daughter of private investigator, Mark Lance (Mark Mason + Larry Lance) and famous superheroine, the Blonde Canary (Blonde Phantom + Black Canary I) it wouldn't be a stretch to say that Barbara Lance was born with heroism in her blood.

Growing up on the stories of her parents, Barbara knew she wanted to follow in their footsteps. But her mother wanted, more than anything, for Barbara to have a normal life. So she made Barbara promise that she wouldn't try to be a superhero.

Initially, Barbara kept her promise to the letter. At age nineteen, she trained with friend of the family, Ted "Wildcat" Dugan (Wildcat + Dum Dum Dugan) and joined ASIDE (ARGUS + SHIELD). If she couldn't help protect the world as a superhero, she'd do it from the shadows as a superspy codenamed Agent 19.

One day, she was informed that Cross Tech Industries was building a mind control device and she was sent to acquire or destroy it. To assist her, they requested the Avengers League (Avengers + Justice League) to send one of their own, the world's greatest marksman, Green Hawk (Green Arrow + Hawkeye).

Green Hawk and Barbara infiltrated Cross Tech's laboratory and found the mind control device. Before they could take it away, they were attacked by the supervillain Pyromancer (Crossfire + Wizard), who planned to use the device's hypnotic ultrasounds to force superheroes to kill each other.

Fortunately, Barbara had an ultrasound weapon of her own. She wasn't just a regular spy, she was a metamutant (metahuman + mutant) with the ability to release a powerful sonic blast from her mouth. With this, she and Green Hawk defeated Pyromancer and destroyed Cross Tech's device. The archer was so impressed, he invited her to join the Avengers League. Unable to pass on this opportunity, she accepted and was introduced to the rest of the League as the superhero, Blackbird.

While on the team, Blackbird and Green Hawk would keep getting closer, and would fight crime together in the streets of Star City. The two were such an effective duo, it didn't surprise anybody when they became a couple. Eventually, Barbara and Oliver sealed the deal and became husband and wife. Right now, they're working on having a child together and starting a family.

Blackbird more than pulled her weight on the Avengers League, enough that at one point, she was appointed team leader. She'd also be leader of another team of heroes founded by her, Black Huntress (Black Widow + Huntress) and Oracle (Batgirl + Spider-Gwen) called the Birds of Force (Birds of Prey + A-Force).

By now, Barbara has more than lived up to her parents' legacy. It might not have been the life her mother wanted, but it's not hard to argue that she was destined to be a crimefighter. Blackbird has proven time and time again that even among godlike beings, super geniuses, or creatures from other worlds, she's more than capable of keeping up with Earth's greatest heroes.

Powers & Abilities: Dedicating herself to a life of crimefighting, Barbara has spent years studying martial arts from her mother and Wildcat, including boxing, Judo, and pressure points. She'd also received training in the arts of espionage and stealth when she decided to join ASIDE.

But her greatest ability is the one granted to her by her metamutant genes, the Canary Cry. Named after Barbara's mother, the Canary Cry is a sonic attack generated by Blackbird's vocal cords. It can be concentrated into a single blast or expand to cover an entire city and has a maximum volume of over 300 decibels; for reference, the Krakatoa eruption of 1983 was similarly loud and was heard from a distance of 3,000 miles away. Shockwaves like that are more than powerful enough for Blackbird to use them to fly like her namesake. The only thing keeping her from exploding her own eardrums are special membranes that were also given to her by her metamutant biology.

But Barbara knows she can't rely on her powers in a fight, especially when there are civilians around. That's why she prefers to get up close to her opponent with her Battle Staves, long, hollow metal poles that can be used separately, combine into an eight-foot long bo staff, and have tasers attached to the ends.

For the times she physically can't use her Canary Cry, she has specially made Canary Bombs that can do the screaming for her. Perfect should, for whatever reason, she can't use her voice in a serious battle.

Appearance: Barbara Lance is a Caucasian woman with blond hair and blue eyes.

Compared to other superheroes, Blackbird's outfit is a lot more casual; consisting of a white corset under a black leather jacket, black fingerless motorcycle gloves, black leather boots, and fishnet stockings. In order to hide her identity, she wears a black domino mask with yellow lenses over her eyes.
