Doctor Strangefate
(Doctor Strange + Doctor Fate)
Name: Kent Strangefate
Biography: In the year 1920, renowned archaeologist, Kent Strangefate was exploring a newly discovered pyramid hidden underneath the Valley of Ur. As Kent searched for every secret the pyramid held, a massive earthquake hit the valley and the whole structure began to collapse on top of him. Kent survived, but his hands suffered extensive nerve damage, putting an end to his career.
Desperate for a way to fix them, Kent travelled all over the world and sunk his entire fortune in order to get his old life back. He eventually heard rumors of a man older than anyone else who was able to heal any ailment living in the mountains of Tibet. So Kent spent the last of his money on a trip to the Himalayas, where he uncovered the home of the very mystic he was searching for, Nabu, the Ancient One (Nabu + Ancient One).
Rather than just fixing his hands and send him on his way, Nabu offered to teach Kent in the ways of magic. Kent stayed and found that he was naturally talented in the mystical arts. He also discovered that his fellow student, Baron Wotan (Baron Mordo + Wotan) was secretly a servant of the Lord of Chaos, Mordammu (Dormammu + Mordru), and that he had planned to kill the Ancient One and summon Mordammu to Earth.
Thanks to Kent's warning, the two of them were able to stop Wotan from bringing his master to our plane of existence. However, Nabu was only able to do so by offering his own life. Before he perished, he asked Kent to wear his golden helmet. Once he did, he was able to communicate with Nabu once more. Nabu explained that the helmet now contains his spirit. And now that his time had come, it was up to Kent to become the next Sorcerer Supreme.
Kent set up base in a small mansion in Greenwich Village, New York, the Sanctum of Fate (Sanctum Sanctorum + Tower of Fate) alongside fellow mystic, Khalid (Wong + Khalid Nassour). Unlike most Sorcerer Supremes who kept themselves hidden from the world of mortals, Kent revealed the mystic arts for all to see when he decided to fight against the KOBRA (HYDRA + Kobra Cult) threat during the 1940s. It's here he introduced himself as Doctor Strangefate and joined other heroes such as Super-Soldier (Superman + Captain America) and Aqua-Mariner (Aquaman + Namor) to form the Defense Society (Defenders + Justice Society).
But his main duties were protecting our dimension from beings whose very presence here would doom all of humanity, with Mordammu just being one on a very long list of such creatures. Speaking of Mordammu, in order to stop another one of his plots to conquer the Earth, Doctor Strangefate traveled to to his enemy's home realm, the Dark Dimension. There he met the Dark Dimension's own Sorcerer Supreme and its ruler's niece, Inzea (Inza + Clea). Inzea literally worshipped her uncle, but once Dr. Strangefate showed how truly evil Mordammu was, she helped the doctor defeat him. After that, Inzea would regularly appear in Kent's dimension but could not stay for long. Despite the little time they could spend together, the two still fell in love and eventually took each other as husband and wife.
Doctor Strangefate continued to protect the world well into the modern day, never aging thanks to his new mystical abilities. He'd also reform the Defense Society, bringing in some old members like Aqua-Mariner as well as some new ones like Doom (Hulk + Doomsday). But whether as part of a team or on his own, Kent has proven time and time again that anybody who tries to threaten the world on his watch is in for a strange twist of fate.
Powers & Abilities: As the Sorcerer Supreme, Kent is capable of casting a variety of magic spells including, but nowhere near limited to, teleportation, energy blasts, summons, dimensional travel, astral projection, forcefields, draining magical energy, or even just willing someone out of existence. His mastery of magic has also extended his lifespan, keeping him from aging a day even after thousands of years.
After Nabu passed down the title to Kent, Dr. Strangefate inherited several magical artifacts that makes him even more powerful. First, there's the Cloak of Power (Cloak of Levitation + Cloak of Destiny) which grants him flight, super-strength, and super-durability. The Cloak is also sentient, able to follow any of Kent's commands, assist him in battles, and is also fireproof.
Next there's the Amulet of Agamotto (Amulet of Anubis + Eye of Agamotto), which increases his magical abilities even further. It also allows Kent to track magic, see through deceptions, makes him immune to psychic attacks, and it contains its own pocket dimension where the souls of all previous Sorcerer Supremes reside.
But most important of all is the golden Helmet of Fate. When he wears it, he's able to communicate with Nabu, whose soul is stored in the helmet and will continue to do so until Dr. Strangefate himself passes on the title. Should Kent and the helmet ever be separated, it can and will fly at unimaginable speeds to reunite with its wearer.
But all that is nothing compared to Dr. Strangefate's ultimate form, the True Sorcerer Supreme. When the spirits of three Sorcerer Supremes join together, in this case, Kent, Nabu, and Inzea, they achieve a level of power that makes even gods tremble.
Appearance: Kent Strangefate has blue eyes and black hair with grey streaks at the sides as well as a black mustache and goatee.
Dr. Strangefate's outfit consists of a blue leotard that covers everything below his neck and displays a golden ankh symbol on the chest. Over the leotard, he wears yellow gloves, boots, and a belt along with the golden eye-shaped Amulet of Agamotto that hangs around his neck. Hanging behind him is the Cloak of Power, a red cape with golden edges and a high collar that wrap around Kent's shoulders. Lastly is the Helmet of Fate, which covers the wearer's entire head with its gold sheen.
