Doom
(Hulk + Doomsday)
Name: Robert Bruce Banner
Biography: Pure rage. There are very few ways to better describe the subject of this entry. While normally, bottling in one's emotions does more harm than good, for this man, this monster, there is no other option. For if his fury ever overwhelms him, it will destroy and it will never stop. Before we begin our story, we must tell two more. Tales of pain, of abuse, of monsters.
The first one begins millions of years ago on the planet Krypton. At this era, Krypton's environment was so deadly, only the most dangerous beings in the universe could survive it. For most, this place would be a living nightmare. But for one man, who would go on to become responsible for countless deaths, it was perfect.
Bertron was a scientist from another planet who came to Krypton in order to create the ultimate life form. He did this by subjecting an infant to Krypton's hellish surface, where it would be immediately killed by the toxic air or vicious predators inhabiting it. Bertron would then send his assistants to collect whatever was left of it, use the remains to clone another child and repeat the process all over again.
Bertron's hypothesis was that each clone created would be stronger than the previous one and more likely to survive what killed it the last time. Through this cycle and thousands upon thousands of horrific deaths, Bertron accelerated the evolutionary process, turning a helpless infant into one of the deadliest monsters in the universe in just thirty years.
What Bertron did not anticipate was his creation remembering every single time it died or the fact that Bertron was responsible for all of them. The being was so thoroughly traumatized, all it could see was the man that had the gall to call himself its father. It proceeded to kill every living thing on Krypton, including the man responsible for its suffering. With all life on the planet gone, the monster left for new worlds, where it would slaughter everything it came across so that Bertron couldn't hurt it anymore.
Eventually, it arrived on Earth where the local populace gave it it's name, Doom. Doom did battle against Earth's greatest guardian, the Super-Soldier (Superman + Captain America), and in the end, both combatants would deliver the final blow, killing each other simultaneously.
Our second story begins merely a few decades ago and much closer to home. Robert Bruce Banner was the very definition of a prodigy, showcasing a remarkable and inquisitive mind when he was just four years old. Sadly, all this did for him growing up was earn the ire of his father, Brian.
Brian's father was a monster and he was convinced that because he was his son, he and any children he would have were monsters too. This belief turned into obsessive paranoia when he found out that his wife, Rebecca was pregnant. At fist, Brian tried to ignore Bruce. But when the boy's genius became clear, he was absolutely convinced that he was the monster he predicted he'd be. From that point on, Brian would frequently fly into a drunken fury and assault Bruce and Rebecca for years.
One day, Rebecca had had enough and tried to take Bruce as far away from him as she could. Unfortunately, Brian found out about her plan, and beat Rebecca to death with his bare hands in front of their son.
Bruce testified against his father in court and he was taken away to a mental hospital. The years of trauma Bruce endured, capped off by witnessing his mother's brutal death right before his eyes, all of it had given Bruce a severe case of Dissociative Identity Disorder, which he suppressed along with all of his emotions for years on end.
After that, he lived a relatively mundane life until the day he entered college and developed an interest in gamma radiation. His research papers on the subject caught the attention of the US military. And after graduating with a degree in nuclear physics, he was approached by General Wade Ross (Wade Eiling + Thunderbolt Ross) with an offer to work for them. Bruce accepted and it's here where our two protagonists become one.
The world found itself deprived of one of it's greatest and strongest protectors and learned a harsh lesson that there are things out there that not even Earth's mightiest heroes stood a chance against. In order to fight the monsters that would come their way, the US government decided to use monsters to create their own.
After collecting Doom and placing him in suspended animation, Banner was tasked with implanting its DNA into human subjects, creating super soldiers that can beat Super-Soldier. However, Bruce had no idea that that was Ross' intentions, he was told that he was creating a formula to protect people from radiation poisoning.
Bruce looked at the sample he was given, not knowing it was Doom's DNA. He realized it had amazing adaptive qualities and could make humanity completely radiation resistant. Unfortunately, not long after making this discovery, Banner was threatened with cuts to funding. Needing to get results and fast, he injected Doom's DNA into himself and bombarded his body with gamma radiation.
The radiation merged with Doom's DNA, causing it to replicate and spread throughout Bruce's entire body. His skin turned green, his bones burst out of him, and his mind slowly began to disappear until it was replaced by the monster that killed Super-Soldier. While he may look different from before, the result was undeniable. Doom had returned.
But the experiment didn't change just Banner. As he transformed, Bruce's long suppressed DID was released and merged with Doom, altering the monster's personality to one reflective of Bruce's shattered psyche. What this means is that for the first time in the creature's life, Bertron was nowhere in sight. And even though it accidentally injured several people, it didn't kill anyone until they attacked him first.
After escaping the facility, Doom wandered the desert, unfamiliar with the feeling of not wanting to kill. As he looked to the east and saw the rising sun, he felt a wave of peace wash over him. As it did, he slowly began to shrink and transform back into Bruce Banner.
From then on Bruce and Doom wandered the world, trying to maintain a low profile while being hunted by the military in the hopes of weaponizing him. Then one day, Bruce suggested that Doom join the Avengers League (Avengers + Justice League), showing the world that he's not the monster he used to be. Much to everyone's shock, Super-Soldier himself vouched for him, offering to give him a second chance.
Doom's relationship with the world around him can best be described as tentative; while the heroes agreed that they'd much rather have him with them than against them, others believed that he should be put down like a rabid animal. One thing that everyone can agree on is that you shouldn't make him angry because Doom's rage and power can only be described as incredible.
Power & Abilities: Doom's strength and durability definitely makes him worthy of being the strongest there is. His leg muscles alone are powerful enough to run twice as fast as a fighter jet and he can create shockwaves just by clapping his hands. And since his strength is directly tied to his anger, the madder he gets, the stronger he gets. The known peak of his strength is when he's able to shake the entire eastern seaboard with just his footsteps without even trying. In this state, Doom goes beyond any imaginable level of strength and becomes the Worldslayer (Worldbreaker + Doomslayer).
Strength isn't all Doom has going for him. The bone spikes on his knuckles can extend into razor sharp claws. They can cut through nearly anything and can even become venomous.
But Doom's greatest ability is his healing factor. With it, he can recover from anything and even come back from the dead. And when he does, he becomes forever immune to whatever killed him the last time.
Appearance: Bruce Banner has Caucasian skin, brown hair, brown eyes and generally wears glasses.
Doom used to have gray skin, white hair and glowing red eyes but after fusing with Banner, they all became different shades of green. The bony protrusions which cover his body are still white, and stick out of his jawline, resembling a spiky beard. They also appear out of and cover his brow, shoulders, forearms, shins, bottom knuckles, and his chest, protecting his heart. He doesn't have any lips, revealing rows of jagged teeth. The only thing he wears are a pair of purple shorts.
