Chapter 5: The White Witch

When Mercedes, Byleth, Aslan, and Reepicheep all exited the red and yellow tent, they saw that trouble did arrive to them all. And that trouble was Jadis, the White Witch. She may have looked beautiful by looks, but in reality, she was evil towards everyone in Narnia. However, she was speechless on how Aslan could have let outsiders like Byleth and Mercedes into the world of Narnia.

"What exactly is the purpose of these outsiders, Aslan?" the White Witch asked. "I want you to start spitting out answers."

"Silence, Witch!" Aslan hollered. "These people from the Holy World of Fódlan are to be respected."

"How am I supposed to know what that is?" the White Witch asked. Then, a voice in the distance said, "try asking me, stranger".

"Archbishop Rhea!" Mercedes screamed. "How did you get here? You know good and well Fódlan needs your wise wisdom and the teachings of Seiros."

"Mercedes, we were wondering where you were and what you were doing all of this time." Seteth said. "Most importantly, I guess I should apologize about what I said. After all, you have the right to be angry. I guess it was all my fault to say that this place was not real."

"It's alright, Seteth." Mercedes said. "Nothing was your fault. I guess it was all… well, nobody's fault."

"You were right, Mercedes." Rhea said. "But I must take you back to Garreg Mach now."

"Not so fast." The White With said. Rhea later turned around to the Witch. The White Witch later said, "All of Narnia will be war torn unless someone dares to defeat me in a blood-thrilling battle. And that turquoise-haired boy will die."

"Enough of this, White Witch." Aslan said. "We can get Narnia under control without you interfering with anyone dying. I just need a chosen one."

"And who do you suspect to choose, Aslan?" Reepicheep asked. "An outsider?"

"Technically, if you were to choose a chosen one to fight for the world of Narnia, Aslan, I think it would be Byleth Eisner in this case." Rhea said peacefully.

"And what purpose would that be?" Aslan asked Rhea.

"Well, that boy bears the Crest of Flames, wields the Sword of the Creator, and he is protected by the progenitor god Sothis." Rhea said.

"So, you are saying that this gentleman is special to everyone in your world?" Aslan asked.

"Exactly." Rhea said. The White Witch then looked at Byleth and then said, "I will see you personally later on, young one. Merely not for death… but for battle." Suddenly, Jeralt and Jeritza along with Annette later arrived at the scene before the White Witch and her army were about to leave.

"What happened?" Jeralt asked.

"Father!" Byleth said.

"Byleth, what happened to you?" Jeralt asked. "I was worried about your whereabouts the entire time."

"I was stuck in Narnia for quite some time, Father." Byleth responded.

"You knew you were punished by the church's officials. And when the church asked you to do something, you do it!" Jeralt said in anger.

"Sorry, Father." Byleth said.

"Professor, maybe next time you and Mercedes can try to ignore outside vendors…" Rhea suggested. "It's just my own personal suggestion."

"Uh… we'll try, Archbishop Rhea." Mercedes said. Then, everyone remained silent for a moment. Then, the White Witch later spoke up and asked Aslan how the Fódlan outsiders got into Narnia.

"White Witch, I don't think these fine people have told me about how they got here." Aslan said. He later turned to Mercedes and asked her the same question the White Witch asked.

"Aslan, we got here by a magical blue gem. A holy vendor woman sold it to us for an amount of ten thousand gold." Mercedes explained.

"It's true, Aslan. I was there when it happened too." Byleth said.

"I see." Aslan said. He later asked the White Witch if she believed the story.

"I would have to see the boy for more information, Aslan." The White Witch said.

"Try and get Professor Byleth, White Witch of Narnia!" Rhea said as she raised the Sword of Seiros.

"Speak up your role first… and maybe I will not take Byleth for my own personal use." The White Witch said.

"I am Archbishop Rhea of the Church of Seiros headquartered at Garreg Mach Monastery in Fódlan." Rhea said as she explained her role. "If you yourself were against the Church of Seiros itself, the I would have to strike you down with this sacred sword of Seiros!"

"You dare threaten me with an outside weapon huh?" The White Witch asked. "Then I guess I shall have to see you privately… at the stone table." The White Witch later left with her army,

"…Fine." Rhea responded after a moment of silence.

"No, Rhea! Please don't do this!" Mercedes said peacefully to Rhea. She later turned around to Mercedes.

"Mercedes…" Rhea thoughtfully said. "You really do care about me, do you?"

"It might be a trick to you, Rhea. Don't see the Witch. Stay with us… the people of Narnia will gladly talk things out. And we will find a way to kill her and get Narnia under control."

"You're seriously going to let us stay in Narnia?" Jeritza asked.

"If any of you ever want to see Fódlan again, you will have to rise to the war's challenge of getting Narnia under control." Reepicheep said.

"Well, the mouse has a point… Alright. We'll speak to you guys personally." Jeralt said.

"Thank you." Aslan said. "Please, come sit inside that tent right there." And so, the people of Fodlan followed Aslan into the red and yellow tent. The battle preparations were about to begin.

Back at the Officers Academy at Garreg Mach Monastery, one of the students of the Blue Lions House, Sylvain Jose Gautier, was wondering when their professor and Mercedes were going to return. However, he did not know that Annette was gone too. He started to search around for her. He started by asking the yellow-haired student Ingrid Brandl Galatea about Annette's whereabouts.

"No, Sylvain. Haven't seen Annette since yesterday." Ingrid said.

"I see." Sylvain said. "Then I will have to keep looking then."

"Good luck finding her, Sylvain." Ingrid said.

When Sylvain entered the Entrance Hall of the monastery, he found a coin. However, he didn't know that it was the same coin used by the archbishop and half of the people at the monastery to get to Narnia. When Sylvain tried to step on it, he was immediately stopped by Ingrid again.

"Sylvain, wait!" Ingrid yelled.

"What?" Sylvain asked. "It's not like there's going to be anyone here to stop us."

"I still do not know about this, Sylvain." Ingrid said.

"Then you go first. After all, ladies first." Sylvain said.

"Oh, why… thank you, Sylvain." Ingrid said. But as soon as she was about to step on the coin, Professor Hanneman stopped them.

"Sylvain Jose Gautier, what have you gone and done now?" Hanneman asked.

"Oh, uh… nothing, Professor Hanneman." Sylvain responded.

"We were just checking out what this coin on the floor did when we stepped on it." Ingrid responded as well.

"I see." Hanneman said. "Then I suggest that you be careful wherever you go. For some reason the Flame Emperor's actions have gotten worse from the reports I have received."

"But you are not Seteth. Nor are you Archbishop Rhea." Ingrid said.

"I know. I took over their jobs while they were gone." Hanneman said to Ingrid and Sylvain.

"Then who is protecting Flayn?" Sylvain asked.

"Manuela is at the moment." Hanneman said. "But I guess I should leave you off to your own personal business."

"OK." Sylvain said. And so, Sylvain and Ingrid stepped on the coin together and suddenly, they were transported into the war-torn world of Narnia. All they had to do was find Byleth and Mercedes and get them back to class so that everything would go back to normal.
