The new family slowly grow closer and help one another out through thick and thin. Adversity threatens to tear them apart but in the midst of it all, they only become stronger. Meanwhile, Fred struggles with growing up and understanding the world around him, and Daisy has trouble adapting to her new surroundings.

The Second World War has inflicted wounds that Alec Hardy isn't sure will ever heal. After leaving the military, he moves to Broadchurch to lick those wounds and try to find some peace. His retreat is soon shattered by a horrific murder, and what's worse is that the town's only female police officer is keen to help, whether he wants her to or not.

Alec and Ellie slowly discover what exactly it is that they mean to each other and continue to be there selflessly for each other through the aftermath of the cases and more importantly, the changes throughout their lives.

Takes place during S02E06. "Where are you stayin' tonight?" :)
