"Roy had a feeling another typical Gage rant was in his future. He was right and didn't have to wait long. Pulling out of the hospital's campus, Johnny squirmed in the front seat as he glanced at the map book in his lap. "What?" Roy asked. It was going to be a long day."

Being a firefighter is dangerous work, being a female is even more difficult. As she navigates the paramedic program, relationships, and family matters, Captain Gage is going to have to navigate having a woman in his station. Nearly ten years at Captain, will he rise a rank or be back to riding the squad? What is he willing to risk for family?

Roy needed the daylight and he had no idea how to get there. He needed an anchor, something to hold him there at the station and nothing was more sure than Johnny's voice. Roy struggles with a night terror after their experience with the sniper, and Johnny's there to pick up the pieces. Tag/Alt ending to Nagging Suspicion, but can probably be read standalone.

Originally written and published in 2000. Hard rain and mountain sides are never a good mix. Mix in some Station 51 and a "mudslide - injuries unknown" rescue and you have yourself an adventure. Cap and Johnny friendship fic.

Roy fingered the broken green pen, carefully avoiding the wet red stains and the ash and soot that still clung to the splintered plastic. The coppery odour of blood and the faint smell of smoke combined to reawaken the terrifying memories of Johnny's rescue.

"Acting Captain Mike Stoker sighed before picking the phone in the doctor's lounge at Rampart, an empty cup of water next to him. He hated making these calls. Running his hand through his hair he dialed his Captain's house. "Stanley household." Emily said."

What began as an unknown rescue turns into a desperate race against time to save the life of one of their own.

"Don't worry, if we sign up for salad, we're bringing salad." Beth said with a smirk on her face. Beth knew her husband was nervous at the prospect of the group gathering outside of work, he was the definition of an introvert. It wasn't everyday you were invited to a Fourth of July picnic with your brand new crew.

He glanced across at Johnny who was watching him closely. It was obvious that his friend and younger partner was enjoying watching his face pale just a few shades whiter as he examined the sandwich he held.

Joann returned with a bag of peas. "This was all I could find." she said, kneeling on the ground. She delicately placed the frozen veggies on his knee. Roy stared at the peas for a minute before saying, "I know I've said it before, but I'm building a porch." "Probably a good idea." she replied. There is some language, but not anything extreme.

It's a simple phrase. They say it all the time. But when one of the paramedics' lives is in danger, even a few words are never so simple.

A lifetime or the blink of an eye. Twenty-four hours past can change you forever. As Johnny and Roy come off a hard shift, they head for some well-deserved vacation time. Is twenty-four in the future enough time to work through their inner demons? Will they help each other through it before it tears them apart?

The Phantom's putting in work and earning his paycheck. Johnny, in his infinite wisdom, decides on a little revenge.

Chris exclaimed to his sister, "Your marshmallow's on fire!" Jenny squealed and pulled her stick, with a black marshmallow, out of the fire. She looked at the charred marshmallow in revulsion, Chris in sympathy. Johnny smirked, could fix it. He had a plan.

In the episode "Surprise," Johnny is caught in a gas explosion. The next scene shows him lying in a hospital bed. But this is "Emergency!" and they skipped the rescue and treatment! So I added it in. (I rated it T to be on the safe side but there is nothing bad/strong that happens, just the content of an injury and dealing with it.) H/C, Friendship, Humor
