Author's Notes: I know I've been gone for a while, but I have a lot going on. Although on the bright side we're getting to that time where the season story arc finale is approaching :) just a reminder each story arc season thing is 10 chapters.
After the whole argument the group was stuck in perpetual awkward silence. The day turned into night and everyone went to bed. Logan woke up in the middle of the night, his bladder was about to explode. Stumbling through the dark halls to find a bathroom was difficult as this literally never happened. After searching he managed to find it and opened it. He was so thankful that he didn't need to shit since the stuff was redirected to a pot in the basement that's emptied regularly.
A few minutes later he emerged from the bathroom. He rubbed his eyes and could've sworn he saw the strangest thing, but brushed it off as him being tired. After carefully navigating through the dark hallway he looked through the window and would've pissed his pants if he hadn't just gone to the bathroom. The gates were down and walkers were flooding in.
"Holy fuck!" Logan yelled, "There are walkers in the courtyard!"
Everyone came out of their rooms immediately upon hearing that.
"How the hell did this happen?" Clementine asked.
"The fuck if I know," Logan replied scrambling back to his room to get a knife.
He quickly swiped his knife off the bedside table and ran outside. The walkers were amassed into one big cluster in the courtyard which was strange. They dispersed and spread out which was much stranger. Logan got out there, but was hesitant as his vision was still a little blurry from sleeping two minutes prior, he could swear he saw a little thing zipping around. A walker managed to sneak up behind him and pushed him onto the ground knocking the knife from his hand. Logan elbowed the walker in the head which knocked it off then stood up, stomping it's head with his shoe. The walker ceased moving and Logan went to pick up his knife.
He ran to the gate and tried to fix it back to the hinge on the wall.
"Mary, can I get a little help?" Logan asked.
Mary drew her knife from the walker skull she lodged it into and went over to help.
"Alright we can do this on three," Logan began, "One, two, three!"
They lifted up the gate and managed to get it back on the hinges. Mary left Logan to hold it while she made sure it was secured in the hinges. She saw some loose screws and a screwdriver taped to the wall which Mary ripped from its place and quickly used it to tighten the screws.
"Alright now for the other one," Mary said.
She and Logan grabbed the gate and lifted it. This time Logan ran with the screwdriver to fix the hinges leaving Mary to support the gate. The screws were extremely loose which he wasn't surprised about since it had been barged down once before by some group called the Delta and Logan heavily doubted that Willy and Violet were really competent fixers. Speaking of Violet he spared a quick glance to her grave and saw a walker on it. The screws were as tight as can be he ran over and killed the walker. There were barely any walkers left now the last few were being handled by Clementine.
"How the fuck did this happen?" Louis asked.
"The gate fell down whoever you made fix it after the Delta knocked it down wasn't too competent," Logan replied.
"What are you saying?" Louis asked.
"I'm saying that it wasn't knocked down, because the hinges wouldn't be intact. So Willy and Violet or whoever you guys told to fix it clearly didn't do the best job!" Logan explained, "No offense Willy."
"None taken," he replied, "Also Louis fixed it, I know because I was watching him fail miserably at it."
"So case closed it wasn't those weird people it was my slight lack of whatever putting up a gate is called, Louis deflected.
"We'll circle back to this tomorrow morning since doing this at four o'clock in the morning isn't exactly going to be as efficient," Clementine said.
Everyone went back inside after barricading the gate with a picnic table until they could inspect it in the daylight. When Logan, Nico, and Henry got back in Henry immediately fell asleep when he touched his bed.
"Glad to see that he isn't too troubled by one of the main things keeping us safe failing," Nico muttered, taking off his shoes.
"Everyone processes things in different ways," Logan replied, laying down and kicking off his shoes.
"I'm getting worried," Nico whispered.
"About what?" Logan asked.
"This whole thing falling apart," Nico answered, "Henry, Mary, and I haven't found shit at Gregory's old outpost about where they might've taken Hazel and we tried finding some Hospital full of people affiliated with Gregory. Which Mary encountered the day all the shit went down with Gregory, but when Mary tried to deal with the place she got out in such a hurry she forgot the way there. Although since she burned the place down I doubt that it would help."
"Wait what?" Logan asked.
"While you and Henry were getting to Gregory, Mary saw some guy driving away and hopped in the back of his truck and tried to finish the job," Nico explained.
"Wait hold on," Logan interjected, "We've suspected there's another community working with Gregory and when you find some people in the woods you don't think they're related?"
"Oh fuck," Nico muttered.
"So Mary didn't do that good of a job 'finishing things' then," Logan said.
They decided that they'd bring this up tomorrow since doing it when everyone is tired is a horrible idea. Soon after Logan drifted off to sleep. The sun was in the sky and woke them up a few hours later.
"Alright," Logan yawned, "Time to inform Clementine about the whole Gregory's allies thing."
"Which one of us should tell Clementine?" Nico asked, "Or see what we can get from Mary?"
"I don't know, let's just think about this for a second. Things could go to shit depending on how we go about this," Logan replied.
