Author's Notes: Sorry for the delay I needed to reevaluate my plan for the story arc on whether or not it should be continued to the next arc like the whole Militia Arc which spanned the first two seasons. As of the current time I'm writing this is planned to be the final ten chapter arc and final season at least for now so I can try writing other types of fan fiction. Things are still open to change though! We'll see what happens over the course of the next month or two.
Henry woke up startled. He had a painful headache and everything was aching. A few seconds later he heaved himself up and saw the gas station within the distance. Henry stumbled towards the gas station and fell just as he got there.
Clementine heard the sound of crackling leaves outside. She got up leaving Aj with Bob and went outside. Her jaw dropped when she saw Henry on the ground.
"Oh my god," she gasped.
She wasted no time as she ran over and picked him up. A few seconds later she took him into the gas station and set him down carefully.
Bob rushed over to Henry with what little water they had while Nico and Mary watched from the other side of the room.
"What happened? Where's Logan?" Bob asked, "He left with you."
"We found…. a house," Henry coughed.
"What was inside?" Bob asked.
"Recently dismembered people," Henry muttered, "Then we ran…. a walker tackled me and…. then I woke up here."
"I think you have a concussion dude," Nico told him.
"How can you tell?" Clementine asked.
"I studied some medical stuff at Riverside," Nico answered, "Mary would know too if she didn't sleep through the class."
"You're an ass," Mary muttered.
"We need to go back and look for him, or what's left of him," Bob said.
"Okay, but let's bring our few guns so we don't end up in a tricky situation," Clementine replied.
"It should just be us two and Ellie," Bob suggested, "You may not know her, but I do."
"Alright," Clementine replied.
Clementine and Bob exited the gas station to find Ellie leaving Mary and Nico behind.
"I'm sorry," Nico sighed.
"You're still an ass," Mary muttered.
Clementine and Bob found Ellie sleeping in the truck trailer.
"Ellie," Bob called.
She rolled over and brushed the hair out of her face.
"Huh?" she groaned.
"Get up we're looking for Logan," Clementine told her.
"Bitch boy went missing?" Ellie asked.
"Yeah, you'd know that if you did more than roll around in your own filth the past two days," Clementine scoffed.
"Literally whenever any of us sleep we're rolling around in our own filth," Ellie countered, "It's not like we have daily showers anymore."
Ellie got up and wobbled out of the truck's trailer. She caught a gun that Clementine tossed at her. They set off into the direction that Henry and Logan left in just two days before. A few minutes later they saw the drop off to the side of where they were currently standing. Bob walked forward to where Logan was shot.
"Something happened here," Bob said as he inspected the ground.
"How can you tell?" Ellie asked.
"When this was mud there was some sort of struggle. There's also some specks of blood over here that weren't washed away," Bob explained, "It looks like there was a herd since there seem to be a lot of footprints."
"So Logan got eaten alive," Clementine muttered.
"Yeah," Bob sighed.
"What's left of him is probably walking around undead out here somewhere," Ellie said.
"Should we look for him and put him down?" Clementine asked.
"Believe me I want to, but there's no way of knowing where his body is," Bob sighed.
"Should we investigate the cabin down there that Henry talked about?" Clementine asked.
"Definitely," Bob said.
They walked towards the cabin slowly weary of what was inside, because of the stuff Henry said.
"Should we really do this?" Ellie asked.
"We need to make sure this is safe," Clementine said.
Bob kicked down the door and was horrified at the sight he saw. They saw a message painted in blood on the wall. Blood which was still dripping.
"You shouldn't have come back," Clementine read out loud.
"The creepiest shit I've seen since this whole thing," Ellie muttered.
"This is new, really new," Bob gasped, "Someone did this within the past five minutes."
"What are we supposed to do now?" Ellie asked.
"Get the fuck out of here that's what," Clementine answered turning to leave.
"It's far too late for that," a raspy voice croaked.
They turned away from the door to see where the voice came from. Bob spotted a filthy man in the loft of the cabin.
*Hey friend we don't want any trouble," Bob reasoned.
"Oh, but trouble has followed you hasn't it?" the man giggled, "After what happened to that teenage boy the other day we've been watching you, Bob."
Bob pulled out his gun and aimed it at the man.
"Woah easy friend," he chuckled, climbing down on all fours, "My name is Chip!"
Ellie shot Chip in the shoulder who proceeded to howl. The howls of pain quickly turned to demented laughing.
"I thought you would want to know what happened!" he snickered, "The funny thing is…"
"What's the funny thing?" Ellie growled.
"You just killed the only person who would tell you what happened to the boy! What happened to Logan!" Chip screamed.
"Did he say the only person who would?" Clementine asked.
"That means there are more," Bob gasped.
"Do you see it now!" Chip laughed.
A knife flew out of the darkest corners of the cabin and hit Ellie's arm.
"Fuck!" Ellie screamed in pain.
Bob grabbed Clementine and Ellie and ran out of there. The sound of heavy footprints were booming as from the cabin door. Several arrows flew past Bob and into some walkers that were stumbling towards them.
"I think we stumbled on a cult," Bob coughed.
"Wow the half naked dirty old man didn't give that away from the start," Ellie scoffed.
"I'd punch you if we weren't running for our lives!" Clementine shouted.
Bob tripped on a rock and it cut his pants. Clementine and Ellie stopped to get Bob, but while they did that they also looked to see if they were being chased. There weren't any people in sight except for a few walkers which seemed to have come out of nowhere.
"So Chip knew something about Logan," Bob concluded, getting up.
"What makes you think that?" Ellie asked.
"He said that he was the only one who would've told us what happened, but you threw our chances of finding out into an incinerator when your ass shot him!" Bob proclaimed, "For all we know they could have found him and might be executing him now!"
Ellie rolled her eyes as she started walking back to the gas station.
A few minutes later they got back to the gas station and informed the others of their findings.
"You saw what?" Mary asked.
"Some crazy hobos," Bob coughed, sitting down, "We gotta keep moving."
"He's right the hobos knew our names," Clementine agreed.
"What about Logan!" Mary argued.
"Believe me I don't want to leave him behind he was a good dude, but unless we all want to die we have to move," Bob sighed, "Also one of them told us they know what happened and if that's the case he's probably dead."
Ellie had been getting the trucks all ready to move out.
"Hold on I know that I don't get involved much, but maybe we should head towards Riverside. It's our old community and they might have rebuilt in the time since we've been gone," Bethany suggested.
"Do you know where it is?" Bob asked.
"It's around the Washington D.C. area," Bethany answered, "And even if they haven't there are other communities nearby that we can go to."
"Well why didn't you go there after Riverside fell?" Clementine asked.
"The whole walker herd thing which we told you when we first met," Bethany responded.
"Well great let's go!" Bob chuckled.
They loaded what little belongings they had found over the course of the past two days into the truck and got ready to depart. Bob and Ellie were driving once again with Bob in the lead since he actually knew the geography of Washington D.C., West Virginia, and Virginia. Bob clambered into the driver seat of his truck. He started coughing mildly and quickly raised his hand to his mouth in order to conceal it. His hand had blood when stopped coughing.
"Shit," Bob muttered, "Curse hereditary illness."
Bob sparked the ignition with the wires and started driving.
