Chapter 2: Falling Pirate

"AAAHHHHH!" Nami swiftly turned around and looked up to the azure sky, only to see something- or rather someone- fall face first into the cobblestone ground. The impact of the peculiar boy hitting the ground with great force caused a barrier of dust and debris to shield anyone from the sight of him.

"W-what?" Nami spoke as she shielded her eyes from detritus that still scattered through the air.

"A person fell through the sky!" One of the three large men exclaimed, his voice full of surprise.

The wall of dust thinned out and revealed a lanky teen wearing a red button up vest and some short denim pants, carefully yet forcefully grasping the crown of his strawhat to ensure its safety.

"Now I'm safe.." he sighed with relief. He uncrossed his unmaimed legs and stood up. "That was a pretty neat experience I just had!" he simply said in the tense silence.

Nami stared at the boy for longer than she'd like to admit. It wasn't until she remembered why she was running in the first place that an idea hatched in her mind as he casually commented about how starving he was. A smug smirk replaced her gaping mouth as she ran up to him. "B-boss!" She exclaimed, putting on the best assuaged face she could manage. "You came to save me!"

"Huh..?" He turned to Nami, her hands clasped in relief. He had sworn he had seen those big brown eyes before. "Who're you?" he asked in genuine confusion.

His answer filled the three large men with rage, but with no idea how else to respond, she ran off, leaving them all in the dust. "Sorry, but they're all yours now!" And without another word, she fled the scene.

"Hey! The girl got away!" The man with the checkered bandana yelled.

"That's okay. Her boss is still here!" The biggest man out of the three spoke up.

"Ah! Tryin' to cover for yer crony, eh?!" the last of three questioned.

"Say, is there any place to eat around here?" He turned around, his face showed no signs of anger towards the girl or confusion towards the situation.

"Kid screwin' around, kid!" the man in the middle spoke as he wound up his bulky arm and punched him square in the cheek. Still though, his face showed no sign of injury, making one think nothing even happened. However, the blow didn't go completely unnoticed, because the force of it blew the strawhat right off his head. He bent his neck back and watched the accessory fly away.

He wasn't exactly planning on causing any trouble, but he couldn't help but land a blow to the middle of the man's face. His large body crashed down.

He drew his arm out, and the hat that had flown off his head fell down, the top perfectly fitting into his welcoming hand. He placed it on his head, the brim covering his eyes. "Don't touch my treasure!" He uttered.

"Bastard!" the two remaining men yelled in unison as they shot toward him.

Nami carefully climbed up the steep brick roof on her hands and knees, a worried look on her face. 'I wonder if they killed that guy…' she nervously thought, feeling partially guilty for his assumed demise.

"AHHHH!" Their battle cry rang out, their faces filled with anger over their fallen comrade.

"Gomu gomu no! Pistol!" Both of the boy's arms flew towards the men, each hand gripped tightly in a hard fist. Just like the one that hit their unconscious crewmate, each hand flew straight into the middle of their faces. They both fell down to the ground, muttering pain filled groans.

"Wow!" Nami exclaimed, just barely peeking from the eave. "You're really strong!" She called out to him. She hadn't exactly seen him fight, but when she had finally settled on the roof to see how he was fairing, all three were lying flat on the ground with no sign of waking. Not to mention, the boy himself didn't seem to have any injuries.

"Huh?" He looked up to the top of the building where the voice came from, and to his surprise, it was the redhead that had gotten him into that situation, though he couldn't find any reason to really be mad at him. He watched as her figure jumped from the roof and to the balcony of the building. "You beat people with blades barehanded!"

"Hey! You're that… who?" he asked again. Even after all that, he had no idea about her identity.

She rested her hands on the smooth wood of the barrier and leaned forward "I'm a thief who steals from pirates! The name's Nami!"

A/N: Alright guys, I genuinely do not know how I'm going to end these chapters, so sorry if the endings aren't very satisfying. Anyways, I don't think I've ever written something so fast, I guess I just want to get chapters out before I lose motivation. Please R&R it will mean so much to me!
