Angering Accusation

"Hey! Not that way!" Luffy instructed the disoriented sea cow "To the left! That building!" Said building that Luffy pointed to was none other than Arlong Park. Unless you were blind or as dizzy as the large sea creature, the tall yellow building that stood out against everything else on the island would be very noticeable.

Momoo continued to drift far to the right, until it finally crashed into the manmade brick barrier that surrounded the majority of the island, or as far as Luffy, Sanji, and Yosaku could tell. The shock of the impact created a vibration throughout most of the island.

A giant waterspout sprouted up, and somehow the small boat borrowed from the Baratie shout out from the side. Luffy stood on the bowsprit, enjoying the intense wind in his face and the water droplets that refreshed his back. Yosaku helplessly sat on the deck, his hands tightly grasping the railing so as not to fly off. And Sanji, who unfortunately couldn't find anything to grip onto, was forced to fly back onto the hard surface of the outerwall, his hands did their best to grab at the wall, but all his fingers did was slip right off.

Momoo gave an paind growl as the agonizing pain of his snout became more intense as the seconds ticked by.

"It's almost like we're flying!" The bewildered Luffy shouted as their ship flew over all the bothersome tropical trees, and vast rice fields that would have otherwise been obstacles in their way.

"Not 'like'!" Yosaku shouted back as he tried to hold back his tears.

"We are flying, dumbass!" Sanji argued, doing his best not to move so he wouldn't fly out.

"W-We're falling!" Yosaku cried in realization, his knuckles turning white from digging his nails into the wood harder. Though, as soon as he finished, the ship finally fell back to the ground, sliding with ease and great speed, luckily through a path with no trees.

Luffy squinted when he saw something in the distance. Despite its size, Luffy rubbed it off as a tree, from the way it stood so still, and the green hue on the top, though it wasn't until the figure grew bigger, and he could make it out to be his first mate: Zoro.

"Yo! Zoro!" Luffy yelled, though he didn't hear any response, except for the sound of his screaming. Despite crashing into the swordsman, the ship didn't stop. Zoro just stuck like a mere bug on the front of the vessel. It continued gliding on the ground, a trail of dust and dirt following behind, covering its engraved path. It wasn't until the boat crashed into a cliff at the end of a rice field that it finally stopped.

"We made it!" Luffy cheered as he brushed the dirt off his hat.

"What the hell are you guys doing?!" Zoro struggled to find his way out the pile of rubble just to yell at them.

What do you mean? We're here to get Nami" Luffy casually responded as if nothing had happened. "Have you still not found her?" His eyes lit up with remembrance "Oh yeah, and what about Johnny and Usopp?"

Zoro bit his lip "Usopp! That's right! There's no time to waste!" He put a leg forward to start his clumsy dash back to Arlong Park, leaping over all the debris.

"What's wrong?" Luffy queried.

"He's been caught by Arlong! We gotta hurry before he's killed!"

"He's been killed" A third voice shouted out.

"What?!" Zoro barked back.

Everyone stared at Johnny, a good distance away from the crash. His knees gave out and he crashed his fists into the damp ground. His heavy breathing and the sweat that fell down his neck were obvious signs he had bolted all the way just to deliver the horrible news. "We're too late…"

Everyone stared in silence, awaiting the bounty hunter's report.

He shook when the events of the past replayed in his mind- clear as day. "Big bro Usopp is dead!" His trembling hand punched the ground again. His head that hung low in ashament was finally brought up when he gained the courage to tell the rag-tag group. "He was killed…by big sis Nami!"

Hearing the news surprised Zoro. After her pitiful demonstration of trying to act tough, he figured she had no backbone to see someone die, let alone kill someone with her own hands. Yosaku was genuinely stunned. She seemed more like the type to save someone's life, rather than end it- after all, she had been the reason he was still alive to hear the report.

Sanji was a bit caught off guard. To imagine such a beautiful person would not only kill, but betray one of her crewmates, it was hard to do.

And Luffy… well Luffy's expression genuinely surprised.

"Are you serious?!" Yosaku had to ask. He didn't enjoy thinking she would do something like that, but there was no way his brother would lie about something like that.

"Yeah. It's terrible! She was a witch all along!" the tears finally ceased, and instead, what replaced his saddened face was a serious look. "She's been winning Arlong's favor so she could have the treasure buried in Cocoyashi Village all to herself!" He changed his sitting position so that his legs became crossed and his back slumped forward so his arms could reach the ground again. "She'll calmly kill people for money! She's scum! Rotten to the core!" It was odd to hear Johnny go on and on about someone- especially a girl- not even Zoro or Yosaku had ever seen him so upset. "She had us all fooled the entire time–" His rant would have continued forever more, had Luffy not stepped in.

He jumped forward, clamping his hands on his jacket. "You!" Luffy angrily yelled. He forced Johnny up on his feet, and didn't even realize his hat had fallen off "Try saying that again! I'll kick your ass!" Luffy couldn't stand the way he talked about his crewmate- about Nami- the news was stupefying, but everything else- every insult, every accusation, every word that left Johnny's mouth- that was directed toward the navigator, angered him to end, that if he were to say one more thing, he was sure he would knock the living daylights out of him.

"Stop, Luffy. This had nothing to do with Johnny." Zoro tried interjecting.

"If you don't want to believe me, then don't! But I saw it with my own two eyes! She killed big bro Usopp!-"

"Quit spouting nonsense!" Luffy growled as he shook him "Nami would never kill Usopp!" The snarl on his face grew more intense to the point where it seemed the veins on his forehead couldn't pop out anymore. "We're friends!" He announced so loud that it seemed he was yelling it to the whole world.

"B-but!" Johnny stuttered, trying to find the words to counter. Zoro's eyes drifted from the scene before him when he heard the faint noise of walking on the soggy earth, though his head didn't turn until the person's face registered as Nami's.

"Who're friends, Luffy?" a stern voice chimed into the conversation.

"Nami!" As if a switch had been flicked, his angered face completely went away, so did the tight grip on Johnny's jacket. As soon as he let go, he fell helplessly to the ground.

"Why are you here?" She asked. She knew she had stolen their ship, but she didn't expect them to follow her, though she supposed it was Usopp who begged for them to rescue the Merry.

"What're you talking about? You're our friend! We came to get you!" He explained as he crouched down to get his straw hat.

"You're a big problem." she stared down at him with a cold look.

"Nami..?"

"Friends? Don't make me laugh! You're just a pathetic bunch of people cooperating with each other."

Luffy could only stare at her, though Johnny and his loud mouth stepped up. "Damn you! You killed him! I saw it with my own two eyes!" He stood up and pointed a blaming finger right at her face. "How dare…" He turned his head away remorsefully, only to look back at her cold piercing eyes. "How dare you kill big bro Usopp?!"

"So what?" A cocky smirk made it to her face "Why not kill me as revenge then?" Nami challenged.

Johnny started to falter. His arm fell to its side "What?!"

"I'll tell you this much…" Nami started fidgeting with her already-assembled bo staff. "Right now, Arlong wants to kill Roronoa and his men." Luffy inwardly pouted at that last sentence. It hurt his pride thinking she acknowledged the more infamous Zoro over himself, a no name rookie. "Because Zoro just had to be stupid. No matter how monstrously strong you guys are, you're no match for the real monsters." Luffy finally sat up as she finished the final sentences of her speech. "If you hang around this island, you'll wind up being killed too." Her voice rose and lowered with intensity and volume, though no matter how quiet it became, it was still much more audible than the distant chirps of native birds. "Not that it matters to me, though" A ghost of a chuckle was left hanging in the air as she calmly finished her speech.

Zoro growled in irritation. With how she acted earlier, nothing about her cocky monologue added up. Though it didn't seem to have the same effect on Sanji, who dumbfoundedly stared at her, mouth agape with a pink blush spread across his cheeks. "Her cool look is so enchanting, too!" It only took one more look at her vigor before he finally erupted. "HI, Nami-san! It's me! Do you remember me?!" His arms flapped like a bird's, and his eye took the form of a love heart. "Let's set sail together!"

"Shut up, you! You're just complicating things!" Zoro leaned in and shouted, finally stopping the love-cook.

"Say what?" His enchanted look just turned into an irked snarl "Love is always a hurricane!" It wasn't until Zoro turned around to ask one of his own questions that Sanji found a good reason to be mad.

"Where's Usopp?" Zoro queried with a serious look on his face.

"Bottom of the ocean." Nami simply responded, though she wasn't exactly lying.

"Damn it! Cut the crap!" He stepped forward and placed his hand on the hilt of his Wado ichimonji, though he never got the chance to unsheath it, because before he knew it, he was arching his back just to dodge a head splitting kick from none other than Sanji.

"A swordsman would even strike a lady, Roronoa Zoro?" He spoke from behind the hand that held his cigarette into place.

"What?! You don't even know what's going on here! Back off!" Zoro rebuted.

"Hah! I guess I'd be irritated too, coming right off an insulting defeat." Sanji insulted, hurting his ego even more.

"Huh?!" He growled back, not knowing how to counter. "Oi! Watch that mouth of yours!"

"Mind your business, you damn bastard!"

"Bros! This is no time for you two to be going at it!" Yosaku tried breaking up the argument. There was no time to be fighting over something so petty when their comrade had allegedly been killed by the person standing right in front of them.

"That's right!" Nami had to raise her voice to bring all attention back to her. "If you're going to fight, could you do it off the island?" Though it seemed less like asking for a favor, and more like an order. "Don't butt into this island's affairs, outsiders!" She turned her body the slightest, revealing the mark of the Arlong pirates tattooed into her skin. "Do you still not get it? The one and only reason I got close to you was for the money! Now that you're flat broke, you have no appeal to me whatsoever!" She lowered her head, ridding her face of the glower, and changing it into a bored and uninterested expression. "You can have your ship back, so just go find a navigator somewhere else and go to the Grand Line!" The thought of them traveling with another navigator saddened her a bit, but there was no time to be sad. Just stealing and keeping her village safe. "Go look for your One Piece or whatever!" She finally uncrossed one of her arms and pointed her staff at them "Just get the hell out of here! You're an eyesore!"

"Goodbye." She bladly said, though she didn't leave, and despite her warnings, they didn't either.

"Nami…" As usual, Luffy had a blank and unreadable face, though so did Nami. His eyes closed and he fell backward with his arms spread out. His fall gained the attention and worry of everyone, including Nami.

"Big bro Luffy?!" Johnny gasped.

"I'm going to sleep" he simply said and rested his arms underneath his head.

"Sleep?!"

"In this situation?! Right in the middle of the road?!" Yosaku chimed.

"I don't plan on leaving the island, and I'm not interested in what's happening on the island. And I'm a little sleepy." He voiced his last reason as he yawned. "I'm going to sleep." Everyone stared at him like he was crazy. But true to his word, he soon lost consciousness. His breath became even, and it even came out as a quiet snore.

Nami bit the inside of her mouth. It angered her to no end how stupid he was being! She glanced over at the tall yellow structure she was all too familiar with. Her gloved hand that shook with pain clamped into a tight fist. "Fine…" She shakily inhaled "Fine! Whatever! Go ahead and die!" She shouted, and without a moment's notice, she turned around and bolted off into the distance.

"Na-" Sanji wanted to call out to her, but he knew there was nothing he could say or do to make her turn back.
