Returning Treasure

The cheers of the villagers rang out. Those that chose not to stand and stare in awe and take in the sight of the ruined tower- formerly known as Arlong Park- ran towards it to get a closer look at the destruction.

A light chuckle escaped from Luffy's toothy grin.

"Hold it right there!" an unfamiliar voice demanded. Everyone looked back, only to see the annoying face of Captain Nezumi standing in front of his posse of soldiers. "And relinquish your weapons. All of you! The honor for stopping the fishmen's riots will go to me, Captain Ne–" His vexing monologue was interrupted by Nami, who had whacked him across the head with her staff.

"Captain!" His subordinates gathered around their mouse captain and panicked with worry. Though with them all grouped up like that, Zoro was able to make quick work of them.

"Don't spoil the mood when everyone's rejoicing!" He sternly lectured.

"Y-You'll remember this… you stinking pirates." Nezumi was able to choke out, squished between his men, which were all slightly bruised and bloody- the worst punishment was brought upon himself. "You're going to pay for this" He raised his trembling hand in an attempt to make his threats much more fearsome, though it had no effect on the group of four that stared down on them.

Nami stepped forward, walking closer and closer towards Luffy's back, all the while removing his hat off her head. The comfort the hat had offered her was immense, though she no longer needed the extra source of serenity, because the real thing was right in front of her. And she was sure that it would never leave her behind. Silently, she placed it atop his head, covering the black and ruffled tufts of hair that just refused to stay down on his head.

A small yet passionate smile replaced the sullen frown that she kept throughout the majority of her years. 'It's over, Bellemere-san.'

A/N: I know I know. This chapter isn't long at all... sorry about that. The next chapter will definitely be longer! ...Though I can't promise it will be super long either. Anyways, please R&R and have a great Christmas all!
