Introducing Loguetown

"We're finally nearing the Grand Line…" Nami proclaimed to all her crewmates that circled her. "It looks like the only way into it is through the Reverse Mountain here." She pointed her pale fingertip on the map, pointing out the small image of thin lines- reverse mountains- all coming together. Though the particular one she pointed to was the one that ended up merging into the Grand Line.

"What a pain." Zoro groaned "Can't we just sail straight into it?"

"Nope" Sanji joined in "From what the geezer told me, that's the only way boats can enter." As much as he believed his former mentor and current father figure, it was reassuring to hear a certified navigator validate his words.

"How come?" Usopp asked, surprisingly leaving Luffy to be the only one who hadn't joined in the conversation yet.

"'Cause it's supposedly dangerous."

"But how come?!" Usopp asked again, though with more force.

"I don't know any more than that!" Sanji fought back. Had it been Zoro who bugged him, he was sure he would have blown a fuse.

"The reason for that is–" Was all Nami could say before Luffy finally jumped in.

"Alright! I got it! Then let's head straight into it!" He placed his finger on the map, nearly grazing Nami's own; it had landed right on what was represented as land. Nami had to grind her teeth in an attempt to keep any slice of sanity she had left.

"Are you even paying attention?!" Nami furiously shrieked.

"But it sounds fun!" Was all Luffy could say to argue back. "Plus, it'd feel way better going straight into it!" He flashed another one of his famous ear-to-ear grins.

"Talking to you makes me feel like I'm going to go crazy…"

"But first let's stop at an island first and get meat!" He removed his finger from the map and formed them both into fists "Meat! Meat!" He cheered.

Silently, Nami slid her finger to a small dot on the map. Luffy curiously leaned in to hear her navigating wisdom "There's a famous city on this island… Loguetown."

"Loguetown? What is it famous for? Its meat?" At that point, Nami couldn't even find the energy to yell anymore.

"Also known as the city of the beginning and the end…" Zoro cooly remarked, surprising everyone about his insight "I'm pretty sure I've heard that before."

That certainly caught Luffy's attention. He looked over to Nami who studied the map diligently, not even looking over to his as she spoke.

"It's the town where Gold Roger, the old King of the Pirates, was born and executed." Nami calmly explained.

"The town where the King of the Pirates died…" Luffy repeated in astonishment. Nami turned her head up with a knowing smile. He stared at her for no longer than a second, taking in the brief sight of her side profile as she brought her hand to her ear in an attempt to take control of her flying locks in the wind.

"Wanna go?" She could already tell by the look in his eyes and the way he stared into the distant blue what his answer was going to be, but as captain, it was only right if he officially decided where their destination would be.

"Yeah! I wanna see it!"
