Entry 3 of 7 for Swimmer's Week Of Summer One Shots. Sorry this is up so late, I got distracted watching tv. When I'm scared, I typically say some sort of prayer that revolves around what I'm doing but also to my life in general. This is the prayer I said during my first time parallel parking.

I have been writing poems for over 20 years but I have always felt that God has inspired them. I have never really tried to write a poem the words just kind of flow in my head. At the beginning of last year I prayed about hearing from God with poems again but instead of a poem the words were more like God talking so I wrote in a journal for 80 days and this is 40 of those days.

This is a poem based on the account in Exodus of God bringing the Israelites up out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

So, I was raised as a Christian, but have since begun to take note of the world around me and come to realise many of the problems with the theology. This is just an example on my take on it - it is done in a scathing way, so be warned. Fellow free-thinkers, enjoy!
