Chapter 35: He Who Gives, Will Also Take

Sunny put's on her bra as she looked herself in the mirror. She had gotten out of the shower earlier and grabbed a pair of blue panties that she bought a while back. She grabs the charcoal pants that she was given and traditional silk white Chinese shirt that she expected to wear. The special occasion for tonight was that she had to escort Park to a special event of sorts. The event was a special one indeed. It was mostly of bosses of the organization coming from here and there to talk business, trying to settle scores before they heated or talk about the new business practices that could be potential money making ventures. Sunny herself had never been to any of these types of events before, let alone she thought it would be boring. Nothing exciting would happen. "You have to escort me to this event" she remembers conversing over the phone with him "Why? Can't you take someone else?" "Because you have to and I'm ordering you too" he says "You have Joo Kwan, isn't that enough?" she retorts "She'll be there of course but I need you to be there, it's of the utmost importance" he sounded business like "If you're worried about what to wear then don't worry, we'll send something your way albeit though you have to provide your own shoes" "But I really-" she tried to worm her way of it "That's final," he tells her "you're going and you're going to enjoy it" Park hung his end "Oh fuck" Sunny mumbles.

The clothes that she had to wear were delivered to her earlier in the day. She opened and examined the attire that she was supposed to wear. The shirt was Chinese silk at it's best. Short sleeved. Pure white with red lining the edges. Sunny decided to borrow a pair of shoes from Roberta, hopefully she won't mind. Rather than ask her girlfriend to borrow ear rings Sunny went out to Rockford Hills and bought a pair, small crystals attached to a small chain, the expensive kind. She grabbed a simple tank top for the under part and puts it on and slips on the pants.

"Hey girl" Geraldine called from behind "Hey, glad you came" Sunny greeted "Hey you, looking nice" Chelsea appears from behind "Uh, I said it was supposed to be just you, what's she doing here?" "Uh I have a name remember?" Chelsea stuck out her tongue "Man she was just here" Geraldine mentions "Oh boy" Sunny rolled her eyes, Chelsea tries to go to the closet "Stay out of that closet" Sunny snapped "Oh come on, I know you're still a little upset about what I found in-" "Shut up and don't mention that!" Geraldine looked at them both "Do I wanna know what's goin' on?" "No and keep that way".

"Listen do you know anything about hair?" Sunny asked "Yeah I do, you need some dreads?" she smiled "Really?" Sunny looks at her "Come on, you know I'm just playing around, yeah I know how do hair, whatcha need?" "I need you to fix my hair up a bit, no dreadlocks" Sunny smiled back "Come over" Geraldine grabbed a brush and motions for her to sit.

Geraldine gently brushes her hair as Sunny sat still looking down "So what's the big reason you're dressin' up?" Geraldine asked "I got to do this stupid thing with my boss, he want's me neat and proper" she rolls her eyes "Come on, it'll probably be fun" Chelsea rested herself on the bed "It's one of those things that everyone shows up and talks and blah blah blah, you know that type of meeting" she nodded back to her "Oh," Chelsea put one and two together "the rich types" "Rich and fucking annoying and always gossiping about everyone, I have to be there and sit through some boring conversation" Geraldine massaged hair moose onto Sunny's hair and combs it back. Chelsea looked at the expensive silk shirt, she never seen anything like it "Keep your hands off of that" Sunny warns "What? I'm not going to spill anything on it, it just looks so cool, like a really fancy rug" she looked on in amazement "Can I-?" "No" Sunny sternly tells her off "Aw" Chelsea whined "Alright, done" Geraldine pulled back from Sunny.

She carefully puts the silk shirt on "So what are you going to do about that?" Chelsea points to the scab on her forearm "Hang on" Sunny with caution put her fingers on the wound "What are you doing? You're not...?" "Mm-hmm". With her might Sunny rips off the scab from her skin "Oh my god" Chelsea covered her mouth "That's so gross" "Yeah, that's fuckin' nasty" Geraldine chipped in "Don't complain" Sunny looked at the two "Hey Chelsea, got a little gift for you" she showed the scab "No, that's nasty, god" Chelsea wanted to throw up after seeing that "I'm gross but I'm not that gross, ew" she backed away in disgust, Sunny grabs a tissue and throws her scab away. She gently buttons up and slips the ear rings on.

"Damn girl, you look fine" Geraldine complimented "Thanks, I still don't like wearing this" "You look great, it suits and makes your butt look great" Chelsea had a naughty smile "Uh thanks, I think" Sunny didn't know whether or not to feel revolt "Just really brings out the shape of your ass, just really firm and thick" Chelsea slaps then cups Sunny's right butt cheek, her hands firmly grasped around it. "Chelsea...?" Sunny looked directly at her "Yes?" "What are you doing?" "What?" she playfully questioned "Take your hand off my ass" "Oh sorry," she apologized "just really thick looking" Chelsea groped again "If you don't that hand to be a nub than I suggest you take it off my ass, now" Sunny growled "Right, right, sorry".

Sunny put on the high heels that she borrowed "Okay, I'm set, if you two are going to stay here than make sure to lock the doors after you leave" she tells them "Ooh!" Chelsea raised her hand "What?" "Can I sleep over your place?" Chelsea politely asked "Well sure, if you behave she'll cook you a nice fat juicy steak" "Really?" Chelsea's eyes lit up "Ha ha, no" Sunny tells her "Cheeky cunt" she puffed her cheeks "Alright girl, see around" Geraldine waved her off.

For the next few hours Sunny is going to be forced to socialize with people she's never met. They'll probably hit on her and ask her for her number, then she'll probably tell them that she likes girls and is already taken, which doesn't stop them from asking for number. Oh joy she thinks to herself Just what I need, old guys hitting on me.

...

The limo ride wasn't bad but it didn't make it better. It was the elevator ride that made her stomach turn and toil. "Don't act so nervous" Park tells her "I don't like wearing this" Sunny looked at her reflection "I look like an escort from Bangkok" she retorts "You look beautiful" Joo Kwan smiled "You could be a supermodel for a magazine" "Ugh, I hate wearing these things" Sunny fidgets with her high heels "I don't why I couldn't wear shoes" "Because I said that you needed to be proper" Park looks at her reflection "I needed you to look like a professional, not like something that crawled from the streets".

Ding!

They were in the Los Santos Skyline in the downtown section. It was the perfect place for a get together. In order to rent out the place somebody would pay top quality and knowing the types that Sunny associated they paid top dollar for this.

They go down the hall to a set of double doors. Elegant music was heard, violins mostly were playing. Their were a crowd of people, the old and new. Everyone was talking among themselves. Park was pulled away by a steward "So what now?" Sunny looked over at Joo Kwan "Well we got plenty of time before the meeting, let's get a drink".

Sunny was so wrapped up in herself that she failed to notice the dress that Joo Kwan was wearing. It was long and phantom grey which covers both her shoulders. Her hair was tied neatly in a bun. She wore an expensive black pearl necklace, which by the looks of it any celebrity would be jealous of. Joo Kwan could at least walk in high heels, Sunny herself staggered trying to keep her balance. She was used to wearing shoes not things that supermodels painfully walked down the isle with. Joo Kwan ordered a Banana Daiquiri and then ordered a Martini for Sunny.

Some mark comes over and tries to ask for Sunny's number to which she replies "Fuck off".

"Come on, I don't bite.

"Yeah, I'm a vaginatarian, so fuck off.

Joo Kwan nearly spat out her in laughter. The mark leaves annoyed.

"See, this is why I didn't want to come here" Sunny points out "Too many dicks want my number, not interested in guys wanting a threesome" she sips her drink "Come on, guys are not that bad" Joo Kwan nudges her "Trust me I've told so many guys that I like girls and they say 'Oh that's hot! That girl on girl thing is so awesome!'" she bats her eyelashes at her compatriot "That's so bad" "That's not the worst part, they always ask me to prove it.

"Prove what?" Joo Kwan looked confused "Prove that I like girls" Sunny finishes the last of her drink "People assume I'm not girly enough, I'm confused or I someone did something bad to me was I was a kid, 'You can't be a lesbian, oh that's wrong, ew!'" she stuck out her tongue "Okay, I get it" Joo Kwan finishes her Daiquiri "Some guys are stupid, I admit it, too many of them have watched too much porn" she poked her arm "You a girl who likes girls" "Come on, say it, I'm a what?.

"You're a lesbian, happy?" Sunny chuckled at finally hearing that word "See, was that so hard to say?".

The crystal cup is being tapped "Come on, we got to get to socialize" Joo Kwan walked with Sunny. The men, all bosses from across the country, and also overseas, sat around a circular table. In the middle was a small tray of fruit carefully assorted from grapes to apples to bananas and oranges. "May I have your attention please?" the boss from Liberty City spoke.

Sunny and Joo Kwan take their places behind Park. Everyone got quiet. "We're gathered here to discuss a certain business that has been occurring here in Los Santos, brother Park, would you care to speak?".

"Lately their's been some...issues of sorts. The group that I've been trying to find has so far kept it's head below ground but we managed to recover something from them.

"Such as?

"A large quantity of narcotics, mostly methamphetamine and brown heroin.

"Do you have the identities of the ones involved?

"I have a suspicion but I can't act until I get more information.

"Their was something about money going missing, did you get it back?"

"I did, my helper here got it back intact" Park points to Sunny "And she also got the drugs"

"How did she attain them?

"You don't need to know how but just know that she got them back.

All the men had a satisfied look "Well then that's been settled but their's still the matter of that unknown factor" "Well it can wait, we have more pressing matters, such as new business ventures that can make us potential money".

As everyone started to speak among themselves, Sunny saw the cups of water start to vibrate. The table starts to shake. The fruit plate starts to violently shake, she turned her to the windows and saw a bright light accompanied by the sound of a rotter. Sunny knew what was coming next.

"Come on! We got to get out of here!" she grabs Park's arm and lifted out his chair "What's going on?" Joo Kwan followed behind "Just come on!". The rifle fire burst through the glass, two separate pieces were firing. Everybody starts to panic as automatic gunfire tears through the first few bodies. "Get behind me!" Sunny ordered as Park and Joo Kwan got behind her, a man grabbed his mistress and they run for the door; he get's hit several times in the back. The mistress doesn't bother looking back as she bolts to the door. She tries opening it but it doesn't budge. She panic more. Seven bullets strike her body, her body slumps with blood smearing the door. Everything was chaos and death. Bosses run but fall before they could escape. The bodyguards that came with them shoot back with the weapons that they carried on them, which mostly consisted of mini Uzi's; not that it made difference as they are violently torn down. The screaming doesn't end.

Sunny covered Park and Joo Kwan with her body "How do we get out of here?!" Joo Kwan frantically asked as Sunny picked a double barrel shotgun off the ground. "There's a door on the far side! Let's go!" Sunny ordered as they ran to their escape, the bullets start cracking at them. They were in the cross hairs now. Sunny grabbed someone who was half dead and used him as a shield.

She points the shotgun and squeezes both barrels. Splinters fly as the knob is obliterated. They run out and don't look back. The gunfire stops. The bloody mayhem of the evening was all that was left. The dead lying on the floor. Men who have been in the business for years have been wiped out.

They run down the stairs. Sunny took off the high heels and ran down barefoot.

"Oh my god, what just happened? They just came out of nowhere!" Joo Kwan breathed out "They been wiped out, it must be that group that we've been looking into" Park said "How the hell did they know where to find us?" the one thing Sunny wanted to know "I don't know, let's just get out of here" Park ordered. The three reach the downstairs parking lot. Sunny ran to the limo She knocks on the window; the driver had red splashed all over him; "Goddammit". She opens the door and takes the former driver out. Park and Joo Kwan enter the back seat. After starting the limo, Sunny speeds to the exit. "Oh shit" she cursed "What?" Joo Kwan asked "Get down!" she speeds up as rifle fire strikes the windshield. Sunny hit the accelerator and runs over one of the shooters. She takes a hard right into the street. The bright of the helicopter shines down on them "Crap!" Sunny goes faster as more bullets rain down on their position "Can't you do something?!" Joo Kwan panicked "What do you think I'm trying to do?!" Sunny yelled back. Bullets crack all over them.

The limo speeds into a tunnel. As it nears the end, the helicopter appears in front. Sunny floors it "What are you doing?!" Joo Kwan frantically asked "Sit down and hold on!". The pilot see's the limo and panics. The limo's roof scrapes against one of the legs of the chopper. The helicopter spun into the nearby concrete pillar and landed hard on the ground. The limo kept on going until it was gone.

After driving for over four blocks, Sunny pulls into an alley. The engines dies after a long chase. "Is it over?" Joo Kwan breathed "Yeah" Sunny caught her breath "No one's following us", it was quiet for a moment until "Oh my god".

Sunny turned to the backseat "What?". Her eyes look at Park, he breathing was raspy, the color from his face drained to pale white. Two bloody holes are oozing red from his side "Fuck" Sunny hopped to the back. She moved his shirt to the side and saw the where the blood was coming from; lungs, damn she thought. "They must have me...while we were...running..." he wheezed and coughed blood "We got to get you to a hospital! We're not far from there!" Sunny tried to go back to the front but his hand grabs her's "Don't bother...it doesn't matter...anymore...I wasn't going to make it...anyways..." Park took a painful breath "Don't say that! We can make it!" Sunny looked at him "You-You don't...get it...I'm dying from something else..." he mentions with a cough "What?".

"A rare form...of cancer...was diagnosed a year prior...I was told I had seventeen months...to live...".

Sunny looked at him in shock "You were always asking...wondering about why I looked so frail...I didn't want to worry you..." "You're fucking kidding" "I...wish I was...". Park's breathing got worse with more pain in his voice "I-I-I'm not going to make it...this is the end..." "No-No-No" Sunny panicked "I need you...to stop...them...before they...before...they...destroy everything...". He starts to take the last breath in his lungs "Shit" Sunny looked at him as Park coughed blood "I'm sorry...for bringing you into this...your mother hated me...for bringing you in...she scolded me...she said that you were just a girl...not a...thug...".

"I told her...it was for you're protection...I was wrong...I...was..." he let's a final gasp out. His eyes gloss over. He lies still.

"Sir...?" Joo Kwan gently shook his shoulder "Oh no..." Sunny looked at him, the sound of sirens are heard.

Everything is silent.

...

An hour after everything had died down, Linda pushed her way the reporters blocking her path. She had gotten a call that a shootout had occurred in the evening. "Hey!" she called to the sergeant "What's going on? I got a call saying something happened here" "Yeah, come on" he tells her. The scene was a mess, everyone from the uniformed officers to the SWAT team and the Crime Scene Unit. It was chaotic in a bad way. Captain Hicks waves at her "Captain, what's going on? I got a call saying something about shots being fired" "Come on, we got to do this in private.

They walk towards the elevator. The stretcher bearers pass them wheeling a body bag out, Linda got a grim sense of something horrible happened.

When they were far away from prying eyes did the captain explain "Their was massacre here, some big people, Korean mob mostly" Hicks lit a cigarette, a Belgian import, and below smoke from his mouth "Korean mob?" Linda looked confused "The detectives are still putting it together but it looked like an ambush, a witness said that they saw a helicopter doing most of the work" "A helicopter?.

"Yeah, whoever did this wanted to takeover; possible upstart maybe".

"Fuck" Linda bit her lip "Listen," Hicks breathed out "they found a limo not long ago; they found the old man", she looks back at him "Old man?" "Old Man Park, someone phoned in a tip; he's dead" she let's out a small gasp "Dead? H-How...?" "Shot twice and bled out".

"Jesus, he's gone" "Yeah".

"But what's that got to do with me?" her eyes pleaded with him "You told me about your sister when you first came into the department all those years ago. If anybody else knew then you'd have Internal Affairs tapping your phone and watching you from a microscope" Hicks tossed the cigarette away "I know about what's going in the Records Room, okay? Whatever you're doing, it's brought you under that microscope" he warns "Look, this has nothing to do with me...it's a bit complicated, that's all I can say" she explained "You know what they're like, Wolf and the others, they'll do whatever it takes to hide something" Hicks takes out another cigarette "Like I said, it's complicated and I can't say more than that" "Whatever you're doing they're snooping around my office more", he looked around "You step on toes then you'd better be ready to get kicked, that's all I can say".

Linda looked at him cautiously like expecting something bad to happen at any given moment. "Alright" she claps her hands together "Are we done?" "Yeah, go home, we'll handle it from here".

Linda turned around and headed it back out "Hey" Hick called to her as she turned around "Watch your back...". She bit her lip and quickly went out. The chaos of the outside was loud as reporters and others were eager to get the story. If only you really knew... Linda thought in her head. Their was more to this thing. Something much more than a hit.

Sunny's house, Vinewood

Sunny walks into the kitchen.

She had taken off the silk shirt and was only wearing her top.

"Oh crap," Chelsea said "I know I shouldn't be here this late but your girlfriend made dinner and I couldn't say no to that" "Huh...what?" Sunny looked blankly at her "Fine, whatever, enjoy your meal". Chelsea looked at her stunned as she was expecting a threat or a snarky remark "Sunny? Everything alright?" Roberta saw that something had shook her up "Yeah-yeah-yeah...everything's fine" Sunny took a seat at the table "Uh, you're girlfriend hit me on the head because she thought I was hitting on her" Chelsea made something up "That didn't happen" Roberta says back "And she massaged my boobs and I liked it" she made something else up "Ahem" Roberta scowled at her "What?".

"That's nice" Sunny plainly responded "Maybe I'll get you something to drink" Roberta went to get a soda, Chelsea stared at her "What the hell is wrong with you?" she whispers as low as possible; Sunny's eyes went down. "My boss...he was killed...". Chelsea looked at her and saw the anguish on her face and in her eyes. Her eyes started to tear up. "They just came out of nowhere...just tore everyone to pieces...we escaped...I didn't even know that he was hit until-until..." she starts to hyperventilate, she her head onto her hands "Sunny? Are you alright? You're breathing really fast" Roberta put the cola down and saw the anguish in her eyes "Sunny...?" Chelsea called her name "Breathe in then out" she recommends "My boss...he's dead...they fucking killed him...killed them all...".

Chelsea went to turn the TV on. The news was the first thing that was on. The story of the hour was the main interest

"This is Jane Goodman with breaking news!

A horrifying massacre has occurred as members of Korean organized crime syndicates were violently gunned down, the scene bloody and violent, reminiscent of the prohibition era. Witnesses describe the scene as utter chaos. Among the dead is the man known as 'Old Man' Park.

Chelsea's eyes widened as she saw the scene "No way...".

"Police say that the number of incidents involving organized crime has gone up by several percent and authorities are getting increasingly worried. Could this be the start of a new gang war? If so then how will they stop it?

"Reporting from the Los Santos Skyline, I'm Jane Goodman.

The TV is turned off, Roberta looked over at Sunny. She hugs her from behind. It wasn't to comfort her but to calm her down. Death nearly took her but it instead took a bunch of other people. And it took the one person that she was loyal too. In the back of Sunny's mind something was amiss though. Right before he died, Park mentioned Sunny's mother.

She never knew that her mother berated the man who took care of them. She never in a million years that she would hear that.

Chelsea stood by looking at the two. A soldier loosing a general in the middle of a war usually meant bad luck. Her instincts kick in as in red alert. All hands on deck would be appropriate. Something else was coming. The air and energy feel different.

The old veterans would say that battles can be won but a war, a war could go on forever.
