Chapter 45: The Coffee Assassination

"Alright let's do this fast" Joni sat down "I've got a home owners meeting to get too".

"What you got?" Geraldine pops her gum "Guys a banker, the shady type of banker who does shady stuff".

"His name is Donovan Flemming, scumbag esquire. He might look like an ordinary banker but he's more than that" Joni adjust her Chanel jacket "Like what?".

Joni breathed in and exhaled.

"Originally it was insider trading. But now it's evolved into money laundering, real estate fraud, wire fraud, arms dealing and bribery. So he pretty much gotten into the big leagues" "Goddamn man, this motherfucker sounds serious".

"He helps out people from the Bratva; that's the Russian mob. Triads from Hong Kong, Indonesian gangsters, Morocan drug lords and some corrupt Bolivian military officers. From washing their money to giving certain bad people in the shadows information...you know who I'm talking about" she drops a hint "You mean those guys from..." Geraldine guess the people who she was talking about "Yeah..." Joni looked to the sides and breathed "And let me guess, no one can touch the fucker?".

She whistles a tone "The Attorney General can't seem to bring charges against Donovan, he's covered his tracks multiple times, to everyone who see's him he's just an ordinary banker and hard worker. But to me, you and everyone else; he's just a crook wearing a cheap suit.

"And right now he is to realize that he isn't as untouchable as he thinks he is" Geraldine adjust her sunglasses "So what's gonna happen?".

"You going to deliver his coffee to him.

Geraldine looked at her "Coffee? The hell am I going to give him coffee for? Shit, may as well give him a sandwich and some potato salad with that" "Listen, you got to go the Bean Machine, okay? His drinks this crappy brand that he likes, some Turkish sludge I never heard of. It's whats in the stuff that matters". Geraldine heard the flock of seagulls "What's in the coffee?" she whispered "A very strong type of poison that can kill an elephant five times over.

"That sounds strong" Geraldine scoffed "The stuff is untraceable, everyone will think that he had a heart attack or died from a stroake" Joni implies "There's a wiretap in the meeting room, you're going to listen too the meeting with a laptop and then hear when the show ends" "Aright then, tell me how the meetin' went".

Geraldine had been to Bean Machine a few times around here and there. Their lattes were good to a sense but everything they made tasted like something died in it. Hell she thinks to herself maybe something did in it.

,,,

Geraldine walked up to the receptionist "Here's the coffee you ordered" she gives "Better late than never" the secetary rudely says "Shit don't blame me man, it was just a heavy ass mess in traffic". The receptionist pulls out a twenty "Thanks" Geraldine sarcastically snides as she grabbed the bill and left the building. She hurriedly rushes into her SUV.

She pulls out the laptop out and turned it on. The mouse clicks on the tap program.

"Here's your coffee Mr. Flemming, sorry it took so long, traffic was heavy she said".

"Tsk, excuses, always exuses. I swear maybe I should make my own coffee from now on"

"The meeting is about to begin sir"

"Right".

A number of voices come into the room. For the next fifteen to seventeen minutes they talk, until something unexpected happened.

"Flemming you alright? You seem pale" one man questioned "I don't-I don't know-I'm burning up!".

Then came the sound of vomitting.

Then a collapse.

"Somebody an ambulance! Hurry!".

After a few minutes Geraldine heard the words "He's dead". She was amazed that stuff actually worked.

Instead of calling Joni, she decided to text her instead.

'Hey, his meeting got canceled'

'That's ashame, no use in crying over spilled milk though'

'Right, talk later'.

Within a moment or two the squad cars would show up. Not exactly a good way to end a meeting she tells herself.
