A lil short something

Mercedes had dressed in a pair of blue bootcut jeans and a light sweater for her and Sam's date. She wasn't sure where they were going but she did know she had to dress comfortably given that was the only thing Sam had planned for. She was really happy at this point in her life. She was dating someone she loved, a few proposals had passed, and the polls considering re-election had been raised by 35%. Life was great there was nothing that could bring her down, and she was expecting a trip to London in a few days to meet with the Queen. Life was perfect.

"Babe?" Sam called out as he knocked on the door, "You almost ready?"

"Yep, here I am," Mercedes replied as she came out of her room. Sam was dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a white polo shirt.

"You look adorable." Sam cooed at Mercedes as they headed downstairs.

"You don't look so bad yourself," Mercedes replied, "So where are we going?"

"We, Madame President, are going on a lovely date in this park I found. Nothing but a great a view, and us two for the whole evening."

"How romantic," Mercedes smiled. when they exited the house they were escorted to the private entrance where a stretch limo was waiting for them along with multiple secret service agents. The drive to the park was a sweet one with Mercedes and Sam cuddling with each other in the backseat just enjoying the silence and the bliss of the new love. When they arrived at the park, Sam led her out where a mini blanket was set up in front of the pond where multiple swans swam.

"Sam baby this lovely, thank you," Mercedes gasped as she kissed him. They sat down on the blanket and looked toward the pond creating the perfect photo moment.

"I'm glad you like it. So since we have the whole night to ourselves then how about we ask each other a bunch of deep questions."

"Mmm, ok ok, alright I'll start. True love or love at first sight?"

"That's a tough one, I am going to say true love though. I think you know when you are truly in love with someone you are willing to do anything to keep them happy, and you are willing to protect them from anything." Sam answered honestly.

"Is that how you feel about me?" Mercedes questioned as she looked at him.

"Yep, that's how I feel about you. Alright, my turn. My question is what is your favorite thing about me?"

"That's kinda hard because you have so many amazing traits," Mercedes began, "I think my favorite of yours though would be how protective you are. You are always willing to protect the people that are close to you. Besides, it has saved my ass a time or two."

"Ha, that it has. You Ms. Jones are the most amazing person in the world and I am so glad you are here with me right now."

"Awe laying it on thick Evans, wanna give your coworkers a little show?" Mercedes questioned with a smirk as she maneuvered her body to sit on Sam's lap as nipped on his lips.

"Mmm, sure but not too much" Sam replied. He signaled for a few of the men to turn in the opposite direction as his girlfriend's lips were on his.

"Dad I think you are going a bit too far with this whole situation, this is the happiest we have seen Sam in a while we should just let him be," J.J. told his father through the phone as he sat in his office. Sebastian had called his oldest son to talk some sense into his youngest, however, J.J. could care less about his younger brother's relationship. Sure he lived off grinding Mercedes's last nerve, and yes he did invite his father to that dinner but after Mercedes had nearly died he was over it. Mercedes was a good person and a damn good politician/president and these petty games he wanted to play were getting old, he just wanted to get laid and continue to grow his political power.

"Oh so now you are on their side, you are ok with this bootleg Loving V. Virginia crap," Sebastian hissed.

"It ain't affecting me in my everyday life. Look I just think you need to let this go and get to know her like I plan to. When she and Sam come back from meeting with the Queen then I am going to apologize to them both because life is too short and this petty beef is necessary. Besides, Sam is happy shouldn't our happiness be the priority always?" J.J. spoke.

"Your mother has been speaking to you hasn't she?"

"This has nothing to do with mom, if anything this has everything to do with you and your backyard ways. Dad things are changing every day and granted you came up in a different light doesn't mean that it has to be that way."

"I can see that you are going to be no help," Sebastian said as hanged up the phone. He let out a deep sigh before slamming his fist down on his desk. J.J. has never acted this way before he was always down for a good ole redneck scheme.

"Big pappa, are you alright?" Paisley asked as she came into the office with a small skintight dress on. Paisley is Sebastian's extremely young wife who was twenty-two compared to his fifty-four.

"I'm fine dollface, has that boy arrived yet," He answered.

"Yep, he is right here," Paisley said as he entered the room. Shane Tinsely was a big muscular woman who stood at 6 foot 7 inches. He played football his whole entire laugh retiring a few short years ago from the NFL in order to live out a silent life of entrepreneurship. He was also Mercedes's Jones ex-boyfriend who cheated on her with his cousin.

"Well, my oldest son isn't going to help, so I need you to do everything in your power to get that broad away from my youngest boy, do you understand?"

"Mhm, but what's in it for me?" Shane asked gruffly.

"I was thinking that ten grand would be enough," Sebastian replied.

"Ok, I'll do it but I want fifteen instead of the ten,"

"Well, then Mr. Tinsely looks like we have a deal."
