Chapter 5: Taking Care of Our Homes and Ourselves
The next day, I met up with some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, Max Greenwald, Carly Shay, Spencer Puckett, and Carly's stepfather, Freddie Benson, at Eat n' Park in the Waterfront for breakfast. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Alex greeted back. "We have a lot to talk about today," Carly told us. "I have practiced taking care of my home and myself since I moved in to the condo a year ago," she continued. "I always follow a daily routine and stick to it," Spencer added. "I remember marrying Sam back when we first moved to Natrona Heights and taking care of my home, like I was the daily housekeeper instead of Sam," Mr. Benson pointed out. "I could go on in many ways about how I work on taking care of my condo since I moved in with Angel, Alex, and Sarah last year," Carly stated, "but it looks like Alex is both our housekeeper and cook." "Well, yes," Alex agreed. "I remember studying for my SATs in high school and using all of the important self-care strategies like eating healthy, exercising, and getting lots of sleep," Justin stated. "That is very important when you have a big test coming up," Max agreed. "I always enjoyed being one of the top students in my 11th grade class, since that is known to be the hardest year of high school," Alex happily stated. "But, that doesn't mean we can't have fun once in a while!" "I have a lot of fun dancing and listening to NSYNC," Carly pointed out. "And, I have a lot of fun dancing and listening to 98 Degrees," Alex added. "Not to mention, a dance event in our birthday suits," I joked out loud. "Angel, shut up!" Alex exclaimed. "You are embarrassing other people." "I also need to work on taking my medicine and showering every day because I have not been doing that," I admitted. "Yes, you do," Alex sternly told me. "I don't want to live with a dirty, smelly roommate let alone one who teases me all the time!" "Do you not want to room with me anymore, Alex?" I asked. "Not if you keep up all of your bad behaviors, I won't," Alex replied. "Also, stop interrupting me whenever I am talking!" "No, you should not interrupt people, Angel," Carly agreed. "But seriously, Carly, Sarah, and I have every right to move out of your condo if you do not take medicine, shower, or clean your apartment regularly," Alex warned me. "We do not have to live with you, but we want to make sure you are doing okay and that you have company. We are very nice to you, so you should be nice to us in return!" "I know, because I am so close to losing Mom due to constantly teasing her and then I will have to go back to living with my dad and stepmom in Natrona Heights," I sadly told my friends. "I don't know about that, but we will stop living with you," Alex stated. "Mom said that she would take away my condo," I told everyone. "I would really hate if she did that," Carly told me. "Do you think that I am a bad roommate, Alex?" I asked. "Of course not," Alex replied. "You're a fun person to be around, and we are lucky to have you as a roommate! We just need you to follow our rules." After breakfast, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Alex replied. "Bye, guys!" "Bye!"
