The Shinobi of the Hidden Vault 4

The morning came for Naruto to wake up to do his final, final exam to become a ninja, something he's honestly less than stoked about given how he had to go to bed even earlier and get up even earlier to make it to the training ground and meet up with everyone.
He was all but ready to skip breakfast, but Maria stopped him and forced him to sit down and eat a full healthy breakfast of sugar bombs, bacon, and eggs, while she began to make lunch for not only him, but his friends as well.
"You're not leaving till you finish everything on your plate young man" said Maria as Naruto continued to eat his breakfast at a rabbits pace.
"Ok, I get it mom" said a grumpy Naruto, before slurping down his milk from his cereal bowl.
Once he had his fill, Naruto grabbed the lunch his mom had made for him and his friends, before making his way into the armory and picked up his weapons, including a riot baton with a stun mechanic built into it as he figured Sakura could use something to keep her safe.
From there, he exited the vault and made the long walk to Konoha, and met Sasuke and Sakura at the training ground, both of whom were exaughsted and hungry.
"Morning guys" greeted Naruto as Sasuke silently waved at him as did Sakura with a yawn.
"Looks like you both could use a bit of a pick me up to start your day" said Naruto as he pulled out 3 bottles of ice cold Nuka-Cola, "Thank god, I'm tired AF" said Sasuke as Naruto passed him the first bottle.
"Wouldn't it be more healthier to drink coffee instead" said Sakura while not objecting to the complimentary beverage.
"You'd be surprised how much nutritional value Nuka-Cola has, apparently Emile wrote a paper that impressed the school district to allow them to serve Nuka-Cola at school" said Naruto.
"If you say so" said Sakura rolling her eyes, "Oh yeah, before I forget I went and snagged this from the vault for you to use" said Naruto handing her the stun baton.
"Are you sure your vault won't mind me taking it" asked Sakura, "We hardly use them on account that we can practically build any weapon we want that 's proven to be superior to what the Vault had provided with anyways" said Naruto.
"If you say so" said Sakura as she holstered away the weapon as they all continued to wait.
An hour had passed, and so did another, before the trio decided to eat the packed lunch Maria had made for the kids, before an hour after sunrise did Kakashi finally arrived.
"Hello students" said Kakashi with a wave, "You're late!" the trio stated angrily.
"Oh, well sorry about that, but I got lost on the road of life" said Kakashi, "That's the same bullshit excuse you said yesterday" Naruto said bluntly as Sakura couldn't help but agree with him.
"He's right sensei, what reason do you have to not only tell us to come here early, but not eat breakfast as well" said Sakura.
"Well it's all part of the test" said Kakashi getting everyone's attention, "You see, I have these 2 little bells, and the first 2 students to get their hands on these bells gets to continue on their path as a ninja, while also eating these packed bento lunches, while the loser gets tied against this wooden post and goes without lunch".
"Jokes on you then on account that we all had ourselves something to eat, and are more than ready to kick your ass" said Naruto as Kakashi took notice of the empty Nuka-Cola bottles, cans of pork and beans and cram lying on the grounds.
"Well good for you, though I hope you're prepared to clean this up before we leave for the day you little smart aleck" said Kakashi as Naruto was having enough of the guys BS for the rest of his life.
"That's it, you're dead meat" said Naruto bringing up his swatter and ready to split his head in half like a melon.
I a flash, Naruto found himself tossed over on the ground and completely disarmed, before looking up to see that Kakashi now held his bat and had it pointed an inch away from his face.
"Love the enthusiasm, but I didn't say go yet" said Kakashi before noticing that Sasuke had his BB gun pointed at Kakashi's head, and Sakura with her new stun baton ready at hand.
"But I love the sudden increase of teamwork you 3 have now, maybe now you 3 have what it truly takes to become shinobi and earn my respect" said Kakashi as there wasn't a hint of snide, sarcasm, or anything that sounded to belittle the trio.
"Alright, go" said Kakashi as he dropped Naruto's bat before scattering, as did Sasuke and Sakura, as Naruto scurried to pick up his bat.
Once fully armed he turned to face Kakashi as he stood in the opening, which was to Naruto's liking.
"Well, I guess it's just you and me Naruto, why not show me what you got" said Kakashi, "Ladies first" said Naruto with a sly smirk.
"If you insist" said Kakashi as he reached into his back pocket to pull something out, which Naruto was hoping for.
Activating V.A.T.S. he aimed directly at the unknown item he was pulling out for in his left hand, before firing 2 shots.
To Naruto's surprise, the thing he pulled out happened to be a small orange book, leaving Naruto baffled and insulted.
"Are you seriously just not taking anything in life serious or are you trying to piss me off" said Naruto as he had reason to be mad at Kakashi up till now.
However he was brought into a world of hurt, when Kakashi appeared before him, and completely disarmed him of the 10mm pistol, before glaring down at Naruto.
"It was my mistake for taking you so lightly in the first place as I read your file as the ninja who was a dead last and had barely scraped on the basics" said Kakashi as he had a strong crushing grip on Naruto's wrist.
"However, destroying my book before I even got to finish it is unacceptable" said Kakashi as he brought a knee up into Naruto's gut, knocking the wind out of him.
Seeing his friend in dire need of help, Sasuke hopped out of his hiding spot to save his butt.
"You bastard" said Sasuke as he came in swinging down his machete, separating the 2, before Sakura came at last.
"Sasuke" said Sakura as she worried for his well being after witnessing what Kakashi did to Naruto, "Sakura, get Naruto out of here, I'm going to put an end to this clown at long last" said Sasuke.
Not leaving for room for discussion, Sakura went and carried Naruto by his shoulder and away from this bloody altercation.
"So the last of only 2 Uchiha's in Konoha steps up to face me" said Kakashi, "Shut up, I've also been fed up with your nonchalant bullshit as well, but doing what you did to Naruto, and for what over a stupid book, you're a disgrace to what it means to be a Shinobi" said Sasuke.
"Oh and you have what it means to be a shinobi" asked Kakashi, "A lot better than you" said Sasuke before lunging forward to duel against their sensei.
While they were fighting, Sakura stopped to catch her breath as she lied Naruto down resting in a tree as he groaned in pain.
"Seriously, we had to get stuck with the most psychotic and sociopathic sensei" huffed Sakura as Naruto began to shift a little.
"Sakura… where's Sasuke" asked Naruto getting her attention, "He's facing against Kakashi by himself after he told me to escape with you" said Sakura.
"What" asked Naruto as he tried to jump to his feet, but his in pain while holding his gut, "Careful you dolt, you got the wind knocked out of you, and who knows if you got possibly bruised as well" said Sakura trying to stop Naruto in his tracks.
Looking at the pinkette, Naruto could only smile at her while digging through his back pocket.
"You know Sakura, you're actually a nice person underneath all the fan girl" chuckled Naruto as Sakura began to frown.
"Oh shut up, I've always been nice, just you've been an idiot since the day you came to the academy" said Sakura as she felt embarrassed having to defend herself.
"I'd say otherwise since my main education is what I got in the vault, and in a few years from now, I'm suppose to take the G.O.A.T. test to really prove not just my intelligence but my place in the vault" said Naruto as he was just rambling a little towards the end.
"But I do know one thing, and that Sasuke needs our help and if you want to impress that guy, you'll go back there with me and give him a hand" said Naruto.
"Thanks for the words of encouragement, but you're in no shape to fight" said Sakura before seeing Naruto injecting himself with a stimpack.
"What was that you just injected yourself with" asked Sakura, "A stimpack, does wonders to an injured body when you don't have time to visit a doctor or anything like that" said Naruto as he felt the pain completely go away.
"So Sakura, are you with me in taking down a peg or 2 against our sensei or what" asked Naruto with a smile.
"Sigh, not giving me a choice here are you" said Sakura as let out a smile in the corner of her mouth.
"That's the spirit, now let's rock" said Naruto as he began to play some music on his pip-boy.
As they were heading back, Sasuke swung his machete up and down back in forth, leaving Kakashi on the retreating end as every time he dodged the blade, Sasuke would attempt to punch him, and when he blocked said punch, he'd bring his leg forward to kick him.
"You're pretty talented I'll give you that" said Kakashi, as Sasuke said nothing as he lunged his machete forward, only for Kakashi to block it and move his arm around his shoulder, where he pressed and shifted the weight around to not only disarm, but get Sasuke to fall on his knees.
"But I'm better" said Kakashi holding a kunai over his neck as Sasuke looked down worried that this could possibly be the end.
"Hey sensei, look alive" said Naruto as he charged forward to bat his head out of the park, but Kakashi released his hold on Sasuke as he backed away.
"Naruto" asked Sasuke as he was helped back on his feet by the duo, "Hey, didn't think you can keep me down and out for the count can you" said Naruto with a smile.
"Sasuke are you alright" asked Sakura, "Yeah, I'm fine" said Sasuke as they all stared down at Kakashi with determination to beat him no matter what.
"It seems that you all managed to come together after all, impressive" said Kakashi, "Save your petty praises after we beat you to the ground and begging to see a doctor" said Naruto.
"He's right you know, we don't intend to leave here without so much as bringing you to your knees" said Sakura as she readied her stun baton, "Damn straight" said Sasuke as he felt Naruto grabbing his BB gun, before handing him his spiked bat.
Seeing this display of determination, of now found ambition, and willing to do it by putting their trust in each other was enough for Kakashi for already allowing them to pass.
However, he really wanted to be sure they weren't all talk as he began to pull out a large kunai from back.
"I look forward to see you 3 try" said Kakashi as they all stood still ready for the ultimate showdown.
Sasuke moved in first, and kicked his machete back up in the air, before swinging the bat blindly, only to bait Kakashi out, where the machete fell, flat side facing him, giving Sasuke chance to swing a grand slam towards his head.
Not completely off guard, Kakashi fell back from the swing, before Sakura came in to swing down the baton.
As anticipated, Kakashi blocked the attack, but felt his left arm going numb from a sudden shock, and could only assume that Sakura was the culprit.
While standing behind was Naruto, as he activated V.A.T.S. once more, but instead of shooting for the weapon out of his hand or his one visible eye, Naruto went and tried to shoot the bells off his hip.
Unfortunately he missed by a few inches and grazed shot over Kakashi's abdomen, and shot him in the knee, but what came next surprised everyone.
The 'Mysterious Stanger Perk' he had selected the other day, while confusing, started to make sense now, since out of nowhere a man dressed in a fedora and trench coat appeared before them all.
Drawing out .44 caliber revolver from his trench coat he only needed to aim downwards and fired 3 bullets where Kakashi was.
To everyone's surprise, Kakashi used the substitution jutsu and got away unscaved most likely, before the Mysterious Stanger turned his head towards Naruto, where he tipped his hat and without saying a word, vanished.
"Who the hell was that" asked Sasuke, "Beats me, I never saw that guy before in my life" admitted Naruto as the trio was utterly confused.
"Well whoever he was, he seemed like he was on our side" said Sakura, "Or at the very least just aiding Naruto in trying to take on Kakashi" said Kakashi before kicking the log over.
To their surprise there was a small splatter of blood on the ground, before examining the log to see only 2 bullets lodged in it.
"Wait a minute, does that mean…" said Naruto before they all heard a loud thud from behind.
"Sensei" said Sakura as they all rushed to see Kakashi holding his side that he was indeed shot, "Got to admit, this is definitely one of the more painful injuries that's been ever inflicted on me" said Kakashi as he grunted in pain.
"Naruto don't you have something to help him" said Sakura worriedly, "That's right" said Naruto as he digged through his belongings and pulled out a stimpack and some med-x.
Injecting both objects into Kakashi got him to relax a little as he began to stand straight up again.
"Thank you Naruto" said Kakashi, "Yeah, no problem" said Naruto as he backed away from the man, who still held his bleeding side.
"Well it seems I better hurry on over to the hospital before I bleed out, but before I leave I must address something to the 3 of you" said Kakashi as everyone was given a dreadful feeling that they were all going to fail, or worse be thrown in jail if he died.
"You passed" said Kakashi, "Huh" the trio said in confusion as Kakashi gave them a thumbs up.
"You heard me, you all pass and are worthy to be called and live your lives as ninja's" said Kakashi, "Wait, are you serious" asked Naruto, "Dead serious, now if you don't mind I've got to check in" said Kakashi as he began to turn his back towards them.
"Please feel free to come by and visit me tomorrow, where I'll debrief you all in your future shinobi duties" said Kakashi before disappearing from sight.
There was a moment of silence before Naruto let out a laugh, before Sasuke and Sakura joined him, cause seriously they all passed and are worthy to be call ninja now.
"I can't believe we did it" said Naruto, "Honestly I thought it was touch and go there for a minute" said Sakura, "Got to admit my heart was racing when he wanted to talk to us last minute" said Sasuke.
"Well what are we doing standing here, let's head back to the vault and tell everyone the good news, they'll probably throw us a big party" said Naruto as they were eager to party hard.
"Or we can do something just between all of us" came the voice of Gil as standing next to him was Dog Meat, Maria, and Itachi.
"Gil, mom" said Naruto rushing towards his family, as did Sasuke, "Itachi, when did you get back here" asked Sasuke, "Just now, I'm proud of you Sasuke" said Itachi.
"You did good out there Nick, as I figured so I brought a cake and your brother Gil here wants to throw you kids a fiesta somewhere nice" said Maria, "Sweet mom" said Naruto.
"Well come on, these weenies and burgers aren't gonna cook themselves" said Gil as they all left to celebrate today's victory, before Naruto felt his pip-boy beeping again.
"What's wrong Nick" asked Maria, "I don't know, my pip-boy has been acting up and has offered me to select these weird things called perks recently" said Naruto.
"Let me see" said Gil examining his pip-boy and his first perk being Mysterious Stranger, "Good job kid, you're on your way from not only being a ninja, but a wanderer of the vault, which reminds me I should definitely equip your friends here with pip-boys of their own in the near future" said Gil.
"Well no point in just standing around looking at it, choose something already" said Gil as Naruto took a moment to look at his selection of perks he had available to him at his disposal.
"Let's see, Solar Powered" said Naruto as he found the perks attributes to be beneficial, so long as he's outside in broad day light.
"Well, how do you feel" asked Sasuke, "Honestly like I'm unbeatable" said Naruto as his skin did glow a little.
"Ok definitely can't wait to get my hands on my very own pip-boy now" said Sasuke as they all shared a laugh, before finally going off to celebrate.
Meanwhile, after checking in to the hospital, Kakashi was actually a 100% healthy, and that the bullet will leave his body naturally at some point today.
Right so another chapter done, I'm gonna do one more before putting this story on hold as I got other commitments at the moment, otherwise hoped you guys enjoyed the chapter, and if so leave me your thoughts and I hope the wait was worth it.
