"ClarionQuests-Chapter2" [03] - a chronicle of an alternate/parallel universe, different from EarthPrime,
a translation into EarthPrime language made by Roland, ambassador without portfolio.
Characters within alternate, parallel universes are similar to and different from their counterparts.
Readers are encouraged to be, or become, familiar with:
- Star Trek, The Next Generation [ST-TNG], especially planets Romulus, Vulcan, Qo'noS/Kronos (Paramount).
- The Owl House (Disney). Episodes and extracts from Disney's The Owl House.
- Episodes and extracts from The Twilight Zone (Viacom-CBS and Warner Bros).
- WWII carriers, battleships, ships: supply, medical, troop, etc. (Discovery and History channels).
A computer voice springs into action and begins speaking.
"United Planets Delmar, Chief Engineer, Northern Continents Treaty Organization and Southern Continents Treaty Organization Combine, UnitedPlanetary-Kronos De-Militarized Zone, UnitedPlanetary-Romulus De-Militarized Zone."
Delmar, resignedly used to such computer voicing, walks further into the conference and finds a seat.
"Vulcan Ambassador Tusparok, representing Vulcan-Kronos De-Militarized Zone, Vulcan-Romulus De-Militarized Zone."
Tusparok quietly sighs once, walks further into the conference room, and finds a seat.
"Romulan Ambassador VorKrieg, representing Romulus-Kronos De-Militarized Zone, Romulus-Vulcan De-Militarized Zone."
VorKrieg: "How did you, computer, know about my change from Mission Captain to Ambassador before I did?"
"I am sometimes to you just as newspapers sometimes were to President Abraham Lincoln's generals during The Civil War."
VorKrieg momentarily eyes the computer's camera, walks further into the conference room, and takes a seat. He has no problem changing positions and responsibilities, only with the sporadic lack of communication.
"Kronos Ambassador VorTuk-"
VorTuk: "Computer, zip it, cease, desist. [Muttering] Sometimes I miss my BatMek'leth."
"What was that?"
VorTuk: "Never mind. I am going to take a seat." Indeed he does walk further into the conference room and takes a seat.
Somewhere, somehow, somebody shuts the computer's automatic greeting off. Electronic peace at last. Moments of silence separate their communique.
VorTuk: "I called this meeting to have all of us give final updates and closure to The Isles. I believe that none of the teenagers on The Isles pose any danger to us. Only the BellowFellow and his minions possibly pose a minor inconvenience.
For some time now, a few spell-casters and other forms of sentient beings have made their way through various portals, most if not all of them with their separate agendas.
I think somebody named Dr. Strange? appeared once or twice. Kronos developed, maintained, and improved defenses against most known spatial-temporal anomalies and aggressive activities. Most, if not all, of our military, ample space, and large atmospheric vessels are shielded. Our ships have the weaponry to counter aggression and other interactions. However, Kronos still has some civilian vessels that can be mildly interfered with."
Delmar: "Romulus and Vulcan also took very similar measures. Even our United Planets have been and continue to invoke and maintain similar measures. On a related and a different note: We did locate at least four parallel, yet different, people within our part of this universe, Augustine Suubonna, Luseda Aprencia, Amitae Breiltran, and Forrest Pollmer. Seeing NCTO/SCTO Combine employs them a few years older, those four are no problem to anyone anywhere."
Tusparok: "I know some of us, along with some Romulans, are familiar with names such as Amitainya, Luzceska. I recommend we use the names Amitae, Luseda, Forrest, and Augustine for this meeting. Those names are quite common within United Planets."
VorTuk: "Yes, some of the names we use can be complicated to pronounce. Let's use those four names as Ambassador Tusparok suggested."
VorKrieg: "Ambassador VorTuk, I am curious how you determined that Amitae and Luseda, along with their two best friends, are no danger to us."
VorTuk began answering. "Let's drop the titles during this meeting; it takes too long.
I have done something with these types of portal recordings that I have never done before. Wanting to learn more about the Charactership and the mental and emotional states of the two front and center of attention, Amitae and Luseda picked out some extracts of their interactions with each other. Figuring they would work as a team in their universe and ours, I first wanted to figure out what we were up against or inconvenienced.
Also, earlier, I ran my preliminary findings by Tusparok. I noticed and appreciated the segments where they defended each other with words and action. For example, Amitae defended Luseda quite strongly at some showing of military hardware for sale. Luseda also came to Amitae's side in a couple of segments.
The most unlikely segments, along with several other supporting pieces:
Their victory dance over whatever creature they were opposing at the time,
their meeting in front of Amite's home, after their second significant library incident, including the kiss seen by many,
their night meeting somewhere, amidst surrounding chaos, including the YES, heard by many, to Luseda's question.
Such finally convinced me of a few things: they are no danger to us.
By vastly slowing down the video playback speed of their victory dance, somewhat less than 0.25x, with audio either ignored or off, I was enlightened about Amitae, which Tusparok and I never knew. Closely watching Amitae's face, especially her eyes, even though Luseda may not have caught on nor fully reciprocated at that time, I noted and knew that Amitae was totally into Luseda, very much liking Luseda."
Tusparok: "VorTuk purposely suddenly stopped due to an agreement we made earlier, an agreement we ask the rest of you to also honor.
Who Amitae and Luseda are, what they are, what they have - is not found nor known on Vulcan, Romulus, or Kronos. The knowledge and understanding of such vary considerably within United Planet's section of this Quadrant.
VorTuk and I are making a Call for everyone to extend to that universe's Amitae and Luseda, and their two closest friends, the following:
Because the Creator, not any universe, gave every sentient being an Essence of Charactership: the recognition and accordance of dignity held by every sentient being; of respect for every Essence of Charactership, which is an internal part of every sentient being; of privacy concerning Amitae and Luseda. And, we certainly will do the same for the parallel, yet a different, group of four right here in our universe."
Delmar and VorKrieg immediately agree, thus sealing an Agreement between the four. That agreement would eventually be accepted by The Romulus-Vulcan Alliance and Qo'NoS/Kronos.
VorTuk: "Continuing from where I left off - there are parallels between Amitae and my beloved wife of many years, Che'Ragha. During our first few chance meetings, she and I were not friends [chuckles momentarily]; we did not like each other much.
Even though Luseda wanted to know Amitae a little better, Amitae did not like Luseda for a while because Luseda was underfoot.
As we discovered we did have very few common interests, Che'Ragha began to dislike me a little bit less. We made some small talk from time to time when we met for short times; then, we continued on our separate ways.
By pure happenstance, each purchased our own BatMek'leth nearly at the same time, an item which, although not very large, is an efficient training and fighting weapon for warriors who have received proper training and practice. Since we both believed in thorough training, we began speaking to one another before and after training classes. By the way, training classes included many weapons and hand-to-hand combat. I think this matches Amitae and Luseda's first library encounter, where Amitae had time to observe newcomer Luseda's mental, emotional, and action modus operandi. I believe both Che'Ragha and Amitae, in their respective universes back then, became a little less an enemy and a little more of a 'frenemy' as they interacted from time to time, in bits and pieces, Che'Ragha with me and Amitae with Luseda.
When Che'Ragha and I began practicing together when Amitae and Luseda overcame a situation in their first significant library incident, the ''badies'' in their respective universes started to focus less on the negatives and focus more on the positives, Che'Ragha with me, Amitae with Luseda. So there, both ladies would be helpful and not so beneficial at other times. Of course, Luseda and I would be, and do, likewise.
The relationships began breaking ground for Luseda during her Elements adventure and beyond and for me during advanced training and practicing sessions. The prom dance, the Grugby game, and the second library adventure with its follow-up at Amitae's front door convinced me even before that famous boat ride and its aftermath. Maybe The Isles portal will continue to give and send more segments.
Che'Ragha and I began to more and more give each other the 'friendly eye', the 'focused eye', as we trained and practiced together. Then, one day, we just knew we were, as United Planets puts it: into each other. So, after a period of engagement, we finally married a long time ago.
Only once, Che'Ragha was quite worried, for a short time, that I might find a younger, more beautiful woman. Well, there is no cause for worry or concern. Not too long ago, when I was slightly injured in a few places about the head, shoulders, and arms, the most beautiful woman in my world was, and faithfully remains, at my side. Every morning she would get up, carefully remove gauze and bandages from the day and night before, slowly and carefully clean the areas, then carefully place ointment, gauze, and applications on those places for the upcoming day and night.
She has often stood by me, defended, scolded [laughs at himself], exhorted, encouraged me, and so much more! I need to do more of such care for her! Yes, there are temptations; some appear younger and more beautiful than others. However, without a doubt, Che'Ragha and I are One, and we shall remain as One. And, I speak for her also: we are joyful that we have been together for so many years, and we hope many more years to come! She is the most beautiful in mind, spirit, and body in my world. Her love and care for me - I will never forget. I hope my love and care for her never diminishes, ever." [VorTuk suddenly, quietly, stop, ped. Moments of respectful silence from everyone else.]
VorKrieg: "Recently, two of Romulus's best vessel captains, Vrybrih and Ariende, mentioned to me that they had been following segments from The Isles; they had earlier achieved daehlenma and nhraianna. Allow me to paraphrase them:
Two souls, two minds, over time, bonding together, developing purpose, mission, goals, and action plans.
A soul within a body, cooperating, collaborating, working, playing, communicating, communing with another soul within another body.
The Kronos emblem stands for Duty, Loyalty, Sacrifice, and Honor.
The older Romulan emblem stood for: Military Might and Honor, which included Civilian Pride for all of that.
The Vulcan emblem stands for: Philosophy of Equality often stated as Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations.
Daehlenma (friendship) and Nhraianna (bonded) - to cooperate, collaborate, persevere (Endure), to have Honor. To be willing to sacrifice.
Let our People and their Children of Romulus continue to be free.
Let our present Romulus emblem; flag proclaim Duty, Loyalty, Sacrifice, Strength, Endurance, and Honor.
And, as I, VorKrieg, said then, and say now: Let a new Romulus gives us Purpose, Mission, Goals, and new orders. As Mordok, when living, had done for so many, let that Mantle be yours from this day forward."
VorTuk: "VorKrieg, before I make a set of suggestions, please recall the One Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-Three tragedy."
VorKrieg: "Romulus lost all arrogance some time ago when, during the construction of a D'deridex III-class Warbird vessel, a mighty and destructive explosion, found to be caused accidentally, not only destroyed the partially-built vessel, it also destroyed one thousand four hundred seventy-three workers. Neither Military nor the Government was ever the same after that. As a result, Romulus has a Cornerstone and a Workers Memorial Cemetery, similar in somberness and solemnity to EarthPrime's Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier and Arlington National Cemetery." [A Romulan never tears up in public, not so today.]
VorTuk: "With the utmost and all due respect to you and your people, with as much kindness and gentleness this old Kronian can muster, may I make the following set of suggestions:
Following the alliance between Vulcan and Romulus, various forms of Kolinahr have been and are still being practiced.
I ask, very much ask, that this Kolinahr process does not eliminate the passion of sacrifice, the intensity of love:
I ask that Kolinahr not eliminate the passions of remembrance and memorial of those One Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-Three.
And that Kolinahr does not eliminate the passions of duty, loyalty, endurance, and honor that familial relationships strive for and have.
Not only remember and memorialize, but also mourn, at least now and then, for those who are no longer among the living.
Not only strive for, embrace with all your mind and heart and soul those Things that strengthen families.
Somebody sometimes indicated that nations are, but families have grown great. So let a new Romulus, replacing the old one, grow great, and make welcomed differences in this universe."
Tusparok: "The Vulcan emblem stands for Philosophy of Equality, often stated as Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations.
Perhaps our People need to ensure our Kolinahr is not trampling upon, diluting, our emblem, our flag. Maybe we have lost much passion in our hearts in our quest to become superbly logical in our minds? I must call upon our leaders to consider: Can infinite diversity, infinite combinations, and equality genuinely exist and thrive within a philosophy of decreasing passion?"
Tusparok: "VorKrieg, during our time together as we viewed many if not most of The Isles segments, did we miss some important things?"
VorKrieg: "We ought to do as VorTuk has done, slow-motion view; then really see, then really hear; what transpired."
Tusparok: "Even though we earlier indicated: Who Amitae and Luseda are, what they are, what they have, is not found nor known on Vulcan nor Romulus nor Kronos. I ask rhetorically - perhaps their Essences of Charactership and our Essences of Charactership, be it of Kronos, Vulcan, Romulus, have similarities?"
VorTuk: "Well, we are all here. Let's set up some equipment. Insert the needed segments. And..."
...so it began.
