Once they reached the bedroom, they fell onto the bed. Erik tried to ensure that Christine was in between himself and Raoul as she always was. However, the woman gave him a look and simply crawled over him, settling behind him.
"You're in the middle for the foreseeable future." Her tone left no room for argument. While Raoul didn't agree verbally, he did simply wrap an arm around his waist. He decided to accept his fate, settling with a small flush across his face.
The flush only deepened when Christine pressed herself against his back and lifted a leg to rest it over his own. He settled a long fingered hand on it and rubbed it soothingly. Despite everything, for the first time in a long time he actually felt at peace. He was still emotionally drained, but this was a good step in the right direction.
Raoul raised one hand and carefully combed his fingers through Erik's hair, mentally delighting in the almost purring sound that left his lover. His heart melted further when the older man pressed into his hand subconciously.
"Why don't we make a weekend of this? Christine and I don't work...and you're probably going to need to find another job eventually. It'll be nice to reconnect. What do you think?" He questioned casually, simply thinking out loud. Erik opened his eyes, the amber color a warm molten gold. It was a nice change from the way they looked when he'd found him.
Christine perked up behind Erik, propping herself on her elbow as she gazed at both of them hopefully. She wanted to get all the fun in that she could before the morning sickness got too bad, presuming that it would. She wasn't sure how it would go just yet, but it was better safe than sorry.
"Mm. I would like that. It'll be nice..." He agreed, his tone more drawling and tired.
It drew a small chuckle out of Raoul. Sometimes it didn't take much to put Erik to sleep at all. Other times it was a battle and a half to get him to sleep at a proper time. He wouldn't have him any other way.
He knew that Chrissy would be in agreement with that. Despite how irritating it could become at times, it was also undoubtedly endearing.
They chatted for awhile, tones soft and hushed as Erik's breathing evened out and deepened. Neither of them would be awake much longer now that their third had returned. It was a nice difference from the way they'd almost struggled to find sleep during his hospital stay.
"You know...It feels like a missing piece has finally clicked back into place." Christine utters softly, nuzzling her cheek against her pillow. Her eyes were beginning to droop and he knew that she would be dropping off before him.
He blamed the pregnancy because she used to be able to stay up with both of them without an issue. But it wasn't a bad thing. She needed her sleep now that she was carrying what would eventually be another human being.
"It really does. If only he could believe that sort of thing about himself." He uttered in response, a small scoff leaving his lips. That would be a miracle if that ever happened. Even if they worded it that way to him, he would brush it off.
But nevertheless, it was part of what made Erik himself. Hopefully this weekend together would help make it less of an issue or at least slightly easier for him to believe in the long run.
He leaned over Erik and kissed both her lips and her forehead before he settled again, shifting to press against the older male's front. He rested his free hand on the leg that she had over Erik's legs. Now that he was as close as he could get , he could finally get some sleep as well.
The rest of the week went by decently, some days more tense than others. But it was mostly because Erik still had some urges that were brought on by his relapse. He could get somewhat snappy but he was quick to apologize and lavish them with affection. They were quick to return it to let him know that they understood.
Things were slowly becoming easier and easier.
Especially as they got closer to the weekend. By the time that they returned home on Thursday night, everyone was all smiles and they were greeted with an extremely special treat.
A dinner that had been cooked by Erik. While he didn't generally cook, he was by far the best at it. He pulled out the chair at the dining room table for Christine and pressed a kiss against Raoul's temple when he passed by him. The food was served and Erik immediately took his seat as well.
"So what should we do tomorrow?" Raoul broke the silence with his question. He wanted to get at least some of it planned in advance. Especially since they'd have three whole days to themselves. It would eliminate most of the potential stress of leaving it for the last moment.
Christine hummed thoughtfully before turning towards Erik. She wanted him to weigh in rather than simply agreeing with whatever she suggested. He was mostly the reason they were doing this after all. While it would be good for all of them, he was the one that was in need of most of the reassurance and attention this time around.
"Hmm.. why don't we start with a breakfast in bed and then go from there? Maybe we can even have a little fun if either of you are up to it." Erik drawled, wiggling his visible brow at them.
Christine stifled a giggle, clasping her hand over her mouth. It was most definitely good to have Erik joking around again. Especially in a flirtatious manner. No matter how cheesy it was, it always ended up working on them.
Perhaps they just loved him that much or maybe it was because they legitimately desired him as much as they desired each other. More than likely it was a mixture of both reasons.
"Let's start with breakfast in bed and see how it goes from there, gorgeous. Who knows what'll happen between us eating and potentially having fun." Raoul purred with a wink before taking another bite of his food.
