PART TWO
nothing is what it seems
FALSE POSITIVE
That was the moment he was waiting for all these years. Searching for that one person to answer all his questions, an equal, another savior for their kin, someone to believe in... The Sun Summoner was right here, within Aleksander's grasp. Finally.
She was rather beautiful, even more radiant now, surrounded by light, barely few meters away from him and looking at the Darkling expectantly, her bright kefta standing out from all the others, otkazat'sya courtiers and Grisha soldiers turned into whispering, shapeless mass surrounding her.
He had years of allure to catch up to – a grown woman, independent, powerful, a miracle suddenly blessing them... That was not how he imagined it. The circumstances, the reveal... It was far from what he wished for.
But this was meant to be, wasn't it?
His lips curled up into the most seductive smile in his arsenal, calculating eyes deciding to focus on her instead of turning to the corner. His heart was beating steadily now. A brief touch of familiar power, unnoticeable to all but the two of them, had Aleksander relax.
With the comforting presence of his most trusted at his side, Aleksander Morozova took the first step to face his destiny. Each move felt less and less right.
/AN: Alina was SO not smiling at this moment! But you'll see in few chapters *evil laugh* Anyway, I'm back! Dunno for how long, i'm gonna do my best to hold on tightly to the Muse so she doesnt run away, but if i ever begin an unexpected hiatus again, i should be back at least for summer hols (my last uni-summer-holidays, but anyway...). the story will be completed one day (hopefully this year) but of course any encouragement is welcome ;) now, i wasn't that mean to return with a 200-words-long sneak peek, so enjoy chapter 9 soon...
