Clarke rolled over and looked at the clock, five minutes had gone by since the last time she looked at the clock.
4:18am
It was evident she wasn't sleeping tonight, she was blaming it on her adrenaline since Bellamy's explosion in the front yard. She heard Lincoln come in around three, and she could hear him snoring through the wall so he obviusly found the sleep she was craving at the moment. The dogs shifted on the bed sensing she was awake.
"Sorry guys, I know I'm moving alot" she sighed throwing the covers back.
She made her way to the kitchen, the moon was bright enough to illuminate the room, making it easy for her to navigate to the sink.
Lights outside caught her attention as she was filling her glass with water. Bellamy stood on the porch with the girl from earlier, he pulled her in for a kiss and watched her walk to her car. The cold water overflowing onto Clarke's hand startled her. She turned it off quickly before looking back out the window, the porch light off and the tail lights from the car could be seen at the stop sign.
Clarke took her water back to her room, aggravated because she couldn't sleep or at least that's what she was telling herself.
She gave up on sleep and as soon as it was light enough to see she took the dogs for a walk, on her way back she sighed seeing the front and side yards of hers and Bellamy's house. She glanced up at the window he once yelled out of about the dogs, assuming it was his bedroom.
It was completely dark, she assumed he was still sleeping so she put the dogs in the house and cleaned up outside. She tossed three full bags at the bottom of his stairs before returning to her house and showering.
She got out of the shower starving, and in need of coffee, after opening the cabinets in her house she let out a laugh, there was nothing to eat so she decided she was going to have to go to the store, times like this is when having a car would be fantastic, but she figured a loan in her name could be tracked and she really didn't want anyone finding her, she grabbed her tote bags and made her way to the Grocery store two blocks away. She could carry four full bags no problem.
She set her bags up in her shopping cart so she didn't go over what she could carry, aisle by aisle she slowly filled her bags. She stood in the checkout line reading the headlines on all the magazines as she waited for the line to move.
Bellamy walked into the grocery store still confused as to who cleaned up his yard, he just needed Milk for his coffee, he grabbed it quickly but slowed as he approached the line. Even in leggings and a hoody he could tell it was her, her mess of blonde curls thrown up in a bun. He stood behind her watching her scan the magazines completely oblivious that the person in front of her moved or that he was behind her.
He cleared his throat and her head shot up seeing the line moved.
"I'm sorry" she turned to face him.
"Are you really though?" he joked. She rolled her eyes and went back to reading.
"Ouch, just gonna shut me down like that?" he laughed. She glanced his way barely.
"Did you see someone clean up the yard this morning?" he asked her.
"Nope didn't see anything, maybe if you went to bed before four thirty you'd be up before..ten" she replied looking at her watch.
"I didn't, wait how do you know I went to bed at four thirty?" Clarke sighed looking at him.
"Your girlfriend's lights shine down the street towards my house, and not all of us can sleep after an earth shaking explosion outside your door" she snapped. Lack of coffee was about to show its ugly face and she could feel it.
"She's not my girlfriend and I'm sorry, no different then your dogs barking at all hours" he growled.
"My dogs do not bark until it is after eight in the morning, we don't all get the luxury of sleeping in" she added. She moved forward placing her items on the belt at the register. She took a deep breath, reasoning with herself, at the end of the day he is her neighbor and her boss and she needs to control her temper a bit better.
"I'm sorry, I'm running on no sleep and no coffee, I didn't mean to snap" she offered looking to him. His eyes met hers, he could tell she was still mad but he wasn't going to push it.
"Yeah, no problem, I'm sorry too, I'll try and remember my neighbor isn't a partier" he shot her a smile. She smiled back before paying for her groceries and heading out the door. She could hear thunder in the distance, she picked up her pace hoping she made it home before the rain.
She overloaded her bags and that was slowing her down, she kept re-adjusting her hands to grip them better. She was halfway home when the handle on her tote bag pulled off one side. She groaned setting everything down. She tied it to the other handle hoping it would hold up one more block. The second she started back up again she felt a rain drop, then two, then the sky opened up and dumped on her and her groceries. She sighed cursing the morning, the rain, Bellamy. She stopped her pity party when she heard his voice.
"Clarke!" she turned to see Bellamy getting out of his truck,
"Get in." He didn't give her time to answer, just took her bags from her and put them in the backseat.
She climbed in shutting the door, he hopped in next to her, stifling a laugh. She was quite the sight, hair plastered to her face and water dripping from various strands. She sighed sinking back in the seat as he turned the heat up, he glanced at her again, she looked defeated.
"I have a few errands to run if you don't mind?" he stopped at the stop sign looking to her for a response.
"Oh, uh yeah, sure. " she nodded.
