This follows the original story of Omori only this time there's no real time limit and it's mainly just Kel and Sunny hanging out with some shenanigans with Aubrey and her gang. At some point it will be stated that Sunny hasn't dreamed in a long time with implications that after Omori went to black space and became a separate being after sitting on his hands throne, Sunny most likely in a desperate attempt to not face the "Truth" just stopped going to Headspace or even White space.
Shortly after doing that Sunny had the sudden urge to draw and soon created the popular web comic named Omori about a monochromatic boy of the same name and his adventures in a dream like place, recently though through many years of build up (and real life segments revealing who's dreaming) the story has started to take a darker turn and many people are wondering what's going to happen (sound familiar, I will also imply that Sunny still has hallucinations about SOMETHING). Eventually Hero enters the picture and while he interacts lovingly with Kel he's rather cold towards Sunny inevitably he tells the both of them (with Aubrey eavesdropping thanks to Hero) that Basil is in a Psych ward and wants to see them. As they all visit Basil, he seems to be more and more bothered, and we he sees Sunny his whole façade crumbles down immediately breaking down and telling Sunny that he told Hero the Truth which shocks Sunny.
After the emotional visit Sunny now sees Hero's piercing glare as more of a Furious Death stare and is most likely planning something, they go back to Sunny's apartment where Hero is cooking up some food Sunny knows he'll most likely do something but can't just back out since Kel's here so begrudgingly Sunny eats Hero's well-prepared food and drinks and hopes for the worst since it's what he deserves. Surprisingly nothing happened during dinner since Hero and Kel left like nothing was wrong, but Sunny wasn't convinced he quickly but quietly locked everything he could and turned off the lights waiting for whatever in fact he waited for so long that he soon felt too tired to stay up.
"Welcome to White space you used to be here for as long as you can remember",
Sunny couldn't believe it after all this time now? The questions would have to wait cause in the distance he saw Omori except he looked like him taller, buffer if a bit thin, and unkept hair that covered his eyes, but was definitely staring at him. Sunny walks up to his other self and soon notices the black light bulb and tries to grab it with Omori stopping him, suddenly a door appeared beside them the door to headspace it was clear his own mind was tempting him to go back into the fantasy world he created and it almost worked as Sunny was fading. However, before he faded completely Sunny suddenly reformed himself pushed Omori away grabbing the light bulb and shouting "I'M DONE RUNNING!" and smashed it.
Sunny wakes up in his apartment to the sound of knocking and opened the door to be greeted by a punch to the face,
that's one way to start the morning but don't worry Sunny's not that fragile and beats them up rather easily turns out they were part of Aubrey gang (need to remember names) and she wanted to talk to him. So, they get to the meet up point and after some banter Aubrey asks how's Basil Sunny says straight out that he's in a bad place but doesn't see why Aubrey should care since she hates him Aubrey understandably offended goes off on Sunny telling him about how Basil drew over the pictures of Mari which gets Sunny's attention but still stays quiet.
Sunny's silence also pisses off Aubrey and her gang so they all attack, long story short they never stood a chance against Sunny who uses a rather embarrassing tactic against Kim to knock her out softly, the fight is cut short when Hero and Kel arrive making it 3 against 1. Aubrey also breaks down by this point telling how she hates all of them for seemingly moving on and leaving her behind like in the original story, in this version Sunny consuls Aubrey saying "I never got over what happened to Mari and there's not a single day that goes by that isn't torture because she's gone" he then goes for a hug and is joined by Kel and then Hero. Afterwards the group is back together and spend some time with each other before they all go to face Basil together to help him out of his delusions.
That's how it should've gone see after Basil saw Sunny, he started to remember what happened before and well snapped and lucky for him a power outage caused by a storm and a riot gave him the opportunity to escape the gang hearing about this the next day tried looking for him all around Nearby city but couldn't find him and they all go home for the day. However Hero and Sunny have a little talk before going home which turns violent when Hero punches Sunny in the gut, Sunny doesn't resist saying he deserves it but quickly dominates hero with a rather painful hold saying
"If you hurt Basil or anyone else I will break every bone in your body and .THROAT!" Hero punches him to get off while Sunny just shrugs, this is supposed to show how slightly unhinged Sunny is since he wouldn't really do it...as long as he isn't pushed far enough.
Sunny heads back to his apartment with the door open. Knowing full well that Basil was inside he texted the others to come to his house and went inside, the conversation and confrontation Sunny and Basil have is similar to the original only here Basil is less desperate and more crazy yet talks calmly after that the two fight and of the 2 Sunny has the clear advantage but Basil just needs one good hit and becomes more deranged as the fight goes on. Eventually Basil stabs Sunny not in the eye thankfully but in a spot that he passes out from blood loss with Basil following suit due to pain, the others eventually arrive seeing the bloodshed and call the ambulance it's after this that we follow up in Sunny's Mind and the rest plays out like the original.
Sunny goes through his mind and Finally faces down the Truth and SOMETHING while also reliving the true memories of his childhood and in the end meets his friends and plays the first part of the last recital but it's not over yet is it Omori? The fight between Sunny and Omori is quite similar with some differences in where before playing the final duet Sunny says something like "is that all you got? You think some bad words, scary visuals, and overwhelming force is going to make me quit? Not this time cause nothing is gonna make me lose faith in my friends nothing!" and it ends with Sunny's "victory", after waking up in the hospital, seeing the dream version of his friends, he finds Basil's room with the others and finally says
"I have to tell you something"
