"Lucky me, it seems that I have the exact same schedule as you!" Kol cheers while waving his timetable in the air as he briskly approaches Daisy.
Kol had managed to convince the lady at the registration desk to get the exact same classes as Daisy. Apparently, the woman was taking vervain, and compelling was therefore not an option, but his romantic speech about wanting to spend all his time with his crush eventually convinced the woman.
"Wow, what are the odds?" Daisy laughs while grabbing her notebook from her bag.
Daisy had told Kol about her classes the previous day, and Kol had indicated how much he hoped to have joint classes with her, under the guise that the first day of a new school can be scary. Rebekah had snorted indignantly but had not made any further comments, mostly because of the glare Kol was shooting her.
Kol glances at the seat on Daisy's right, where Rebekah is already seated. Rebekah gives him a bitchy smile, not planning on moving seats for his sake.
He shifts his gaze to the chair on Daisy's left, which was occupied by a sleazy-looking boy who was busy texting. Kol studies the boy for a second before leaning forward, his hands resting on the desk. "Can I have this seat?"
"No way dude, find your own." The boy replies annoyed, not bothering to look up from his phone.
Kol glares at the boy for a second before turning around and giving Rebekah a pleading look while making a few obscure hand gestures. Rebekah gives him a puzzled look until Kol whispers almost inaudibly that she should distract Daisy.
Rebekah rolls her eyes but starts a conversation with Daisy anyway. She asks some questions about some book that Niklaus couldn't keep quiet about, just because Daisy thought it was a beautiful book.
Kol glares at the boy before kicking his leg to get his attention.
"I think you would like to skip this class today." Kol suggests quietly, pupils dilating a little as he compels the boy.
The boy simply nods, gathers his stuff, and walks out of the classroom, almost bumping into Alaric. Alaric looks confused but doesn't question it, the boy often walked out of his classes at the strangest times.
"Where did Quentin go?" Daisy asks when she sees Kol taking the seat next to her.
"He had an unexpected appointment, which is great news because now we can pass notes and giggle during Mr. Saltzman's boring lecture." Kol whispers in a conspiring tone.
"You're awfully chipper today, you do remember it's a Monday, right?" Daisy teases.
"How can I not be in a good mood? I get to broaden my knowledge and spend the day with the loveliest girl in the entire school." Kol grins.
"You're just as flirtatious as Niklaus, if not worse." Daisy accuses, feigned indignation in her voice.
"I'd say worse." Rebekah mutters, internally groaning at the prospect of having to endure an entire day with her lovesick little brother.
Since the ball, Rebekah's brothers had turned into love-sick idiots. Niklaus had started to sing in the shower and Kol had been practically skipping through the house. Elijah thought with each handling what Daisy would think of that and Finn was often daydreaming, with a glazed-over expression. Whenever Rebekah spends time with her brothers, they always bring up Daisy, which was becoming quite annoying.
Rebekah hoped dearly that the initial shock of finding their mate would wear off and that her brothers would soon be able to use their brains again.

"Mr. Mikaelson, please stay behind for a moment." Alaric calls when the bell indicates the end of class.
Daisy quickly packs her things and looks hesitantly at Kol as she passes Mr. Saltzman's desk.
"It's alright Angel, I will see you in a few minutes." Kol reassures.
"I will wait in the hallway." Daisy murmurs before swiftly exiting the room, wondering if Kol had done anything wrong.
Rebekah follows Daisy after shooting Alaric a warning glare.
"I don't know what you're playing at, but I ask you to leave my students alone. You came here to learn, so learn. There is no need for you to harm or harass Miss. Landry." Alaric states, looking up at Kol, who was starting to look more intimidating by the second
Alaric had seen the girl with the Mikaelsons in the Grill. Whatever was going on, Alaric didn't trust it. As far as he knew, most of the people who piqued the interest of the Mikaelsons ended up dead.
"You seem to care a lot about your students, Mr. Saltzman." Kol replies simply grabbing Alaric's mug, looking interestedly at the print. The implication that he would harm his mate was downright offensive. For Daisy's sake he refrained himself from killing the teacher.
"Better be careful, before you know it you will be under investigation for child grooming." Kol crushes the mug in his hand while glaring furiously at the meddlesome teacher.
Alaric glares back at Kol. He found it ironic that he was threatened by Kol for his so-called inappropriate behavior, while Kol was a thousand-year-old vampire harassing an underage girl.

"What do you think they're talking about." Daisy asks, carefully eyeing Rebekah who was frowning.
Unbeknownst to Daisy, Rebekah was listening in on Kol and Alaric's conversation. "He was probably a bit too distracting in class." Rebekah says eventually. She thinks back to how Kol had snorted loudly at some of Alaric's statements, knowing these were false or made up by him and his siblings.
Daisy frowns, remembering Mr. Saltzman's almost hostile demeanor at the Grill. Daisy wonders what had happened between Mr. Saltzman and Niklaus that had caused their friendship to end. Maybe Mr. Saltzman disliked Kol because of his bad relationship with Niklaus.
"I hope you like high tea. This morning Niklaus, Finn, and Elijah were already preparing for our date this afternoon." Rebekah says to distract Daisy from whatever was worrying her.
"Really? Now I feel guilty, you guys don't have to make a big effort for Jason and me. We are already happy with your company." Daisy replies earnestly, now looking concerned for a different reason.
"Nonsense, my idiotic brothers are insistent on spoiling you." Rebekah teases, grinning broadly upon seeing Daisy's reddened cheeks.

"Niklaus, for heaven's sake. It's a cupcake, not Michelangelo's David." Elijah comments impatiently. Niklaus had been bent over this one cupcake for the past twenty minutes.
Both Elijah and Niklaus had been grumpy all day, they had been unreasonably jealous of Kol and Rebekah that they could spend all day with Daisy. It hadn't helped that Kol had extensively rubbed this fact into their faces the evening before.
Finn on the other hand had been positively excited that his mate would be back with him that afternoon. That he could see, touch, and smell her again.
"Listen here, just because you plop icing down like pigeon droppings, doesn't mean all of us are careless towards our mate's judgment!" Niklaus retorts, narrowing his eyes at Elijah while pointing at Elijah's cupcakes. Who weren't as beautiful as Niklaus's but also weren't as monstrous as Niklaus claimed.
"I am so sorry that I apparently lack the artistic eye this vital task demands!" Elijah snaps, giving Niklaus an exasperated look.
Niklaus rolls his eyes, not planning on disagreeing with Elijah on his shortcomings.
"And I am not careless regarding my mate, but we have over fifty cupcakes and fifteen other kinds of sweets prepared!" Elijah shouts, gesturing heatedly at the dining table which was stacked with enough food to feed the whole of Mystic Falls. "Not to mention the dozens of scones and mini sandwiches!"
"Alright, so we might have...overdone it... a little. But every human loves variety!" Niklaus defends.
It had been Niklaus's idea to make ten kinds of sandwiches, afraid Daisy might dislike certain toppings or be allergic to shellfish or certain vegetables.
Elijah had rolled his eyes, wondering if caviar was a necessity at a high tea, but Niklaus told him if they didn't have caviar, they might as well blow this entire event off.
Niklaus had also picked up twenty kinds of tea, not sure if his mate had a favorite, as soon as he finds out, he would make sure to stock their kitchen with it. 'That way I can always offer her favorite tea', he thought pompously.
"Do you think she will like this?" Finn interjects, carefully presenting one of the heart-shaped cookies he had decorated.
It had little daisies painted on it. The decoration looked a little messy, but the flowers were easily distinguishable. Although Finn wasn't the painter of the family, he was quite proud of his little creation. "It has daisies... because her name is Daisy..." Finn murmurs, looking bashfully at his brothers.

"Hey, Stefan! I wanted to thank you again for driving me home the other night." Daisy says, walking up to Stefan who was talking to Elena and Matt
"It was no trouble, Daisy." Stefan smiles, ignoring Elena's questioning look.
"Before I forget, I have something for you." Daisy digs around in her backpack for a minute before handing Stefan a little cardboard box. "Freshly baked." Daisy grins up at Stefan.
"And one for you." Daisy says handing Matt a similar box.
"Thanks, Daisy, same as last time?"
Daisy nods, smiling knowingly. The last time she baked cookies she had left a batch at the Grill. The bowl had been there for less than three minutes and it was already half empty.
"You didn't have-" Stefan replies while curiously opening the box.
"I wanted to, as a thank you." Daisy cuts off, smiling reassuringly at Stefan. "My mother also really appreciated that you drove me home. She doesn't trust Mystic Falls at night." Daisy laughs while zipping her backpack closed again.
"Are you... alright?" Stefan whispers, looking pointedly at Kol and Rebekah who were watching the group like hawks.
Daisy looks over her shoulder and smiles at the two siblings before turning back. "I'm perfectly fine. They have been very kind to me."
Stefan nods, not fully believing her but not wanting to die at Kol's hands for being nosy either. "Thank you." Stefan replies, smiling while waving the box a little.
"No problem, enjoy." Daisy waves at Matt and Elena before turning around, following Kol and Rebekah to their next class.
"Do you happen to have more of those?" Kol asks, smiling innocently at his mate.
Daisy giggles at Kol's hopeful expression and nods, she always made sure to bring plenty to potentially bribe people.

"Elijah, don't bother. I don't think she wants to look at your tedious photography collection, especially when she sees this gem." Niklaus taunts while waving his limited edition of The Great Gatsby in the air.
Elijah had been busy for the last half hour placing some of his favorite vintage photographs on display on the coffee table.
The previous afternoon, Elijah had managed to put the subject on something else than books, to the great annoyance of Niklaus, and discovered that Daisy had collected vintage photographs and postcards for a little while. Elijah had carefully selected his best photographs that didn't show him or his siblings.
"We'll see about that." Elijah grumbles, resuming to change the composition of the photographs.
Finn looks amusedly at his brothers before continuing to read his book, which was of course recommended by Daisy. He hoped to finish it before their date, that way he could discuss its content with her.

"Why do they keep staring at you?" Daisy asks softly while leaning closer to Kol, hoping that the onlookers wouldn't hear her.
Daisy, Rebekah, and Kol were currently in the cafeteria. Jason and his friends were nowhere to be seen, they were most likely ditching classes or hanging out back with the stoners. Daisy didn't care much now that she had the two Mikaelsons to hang out with.
During classes, she had noticed how Elena, Stefan, and their friends had been throwing glances in Kol's direction. She thought it was because Kol was new, but then she remembered they had already met the previous night.
"Because I'm super handsome of course." Kol teases, smirking at Daisy.
Daisy clasps her hand in front of her mouth to stifle her giggles, her shoulder shook a little.
Kol smiles down at his mate with a look of pure adoration. Daisy's joyful expression and muffled giggles filled him with a warm, fond feeling.
"Are you disagreeing with me?" Kol asks while playfully glaring at her and poking her side.
"No! Of course not!" Daisy laughs, trying to pry Kol's hand off of her.
"Say it!" Kol demands while poking her side again.
"Fine, you're super handsome." Daisy rolls her eyes, before poking his side in retaliation.

"She's here. She's here!" Niklaus shouts, looking a little panicked. He knew what time Daisy's last class was and he'd been waiting patiently behind the window, along with Finn, both thrilled for the upcoming visit.
Niklaus runs into the living room and pulls Elijah up from the couch. He proceeds to quickly wriggle the pillows into shape for the third time. Niklaus plucks a lint from Elijah's hair and gives the flowerpot with daisies one last appraising look.
After Finn's idea with the cookie, the brothers thought it would be fun to have the flower in question on the table. However, this turned out to be more difficult than expected, the flower was sold abundantly in May and since it was now near the end of October, the local florist did not have it in stock. Elijah quickly drove to a nearby city to check out all the florists. He had finally found the plant, in the hands of an old lady. He had practically ripped the pot out of her iron grip. Elijah would not return home empty-handed, Niklaus's tantrum would be unbearable, so yes, he would even fight an elderly lady for it.
"You will not believe it! Kol has already been summoned by four teachers, receiving multiple warnings for 'disturbing the peace' and 'inappropriate behavior'." Rebekah calls out, laughing loudly upon entering the mansion.
Kol rolls his eyes at his sister, stomping in behind her.
"I do believe that." Niklaus hums, fixing Kol with an exasperated look, the last thing he needed was for his mate to be corrupted because of Kol's improper behavior.
"Please come in Daisy, Jason." Elijah says, smiling politely at both.
"Thank you." Daisy smiles up at Elijah before entering, looking around. Although the pretty lights and most of the vases with flowers were gone, the foyer still looked impressive. The house smelt like cake and she happily inhales the sweet aroma.
"You look great." Kol compliments suddenly.
"Kol, you've seen me all day, nothing has changed." Daisy replies, laughing lightly. She had just spent an entire day listening to Kol's notable comments, but he still managed to surprise her.
"Yes, but you look even more beautiful here, in our house." Kol retorts, grinning cheekily at his mate.
Daisy raises a skeptical brow before bursting into a fit of giggles. Kol had been trying out his cheesy one-liners all day, which annoyed Rebekah greatly. Daisy, however, thought it was cute and even gave him some tips on which terms to avoid around girls.
Jason was busy texting one of his friends and missed this exchange. He had wanted to cancel the appointment, but Daisy had practically begged him to stay at least half an hour. She insisted it was important to her.
Jason had texted Davis with the request to pick him up as soon as possible, not in the mood to spend an entire afternoon with the new family. He would already have to see these guys at school and during town events, that was enough for him.
Niklaus elbows Kol in the ribs when Daisy looks away. Didn't Kol understand anything about being subtle? It would not surprise Niklaus if Kol blabbered to Daisy about being their soulmate by the end of the afternoon.
"It's different." Finn remarks while taking Daisy's coat.
"Sorry?" Daisy asks, turning around to face Finn.
"Your perfume, it's different...But-it's very nice." Finn stammers, turning a little pink. He curses himself internally for his weird remark, wishing he could have just told her that she looked beautiful.
"Oh, thank you, Finn. You got a sharp sense of smell." Daisy grins.
"Dude, don't be creepy." Jason comments, finally looking up from his device.
Jason didn't like obliged politeness, but he had promised Daisy to try. The fact that one of the new residents made a strange comment about her scent did not sit well with him.
"Jason, it was just a compliment." Daisy says softly, not wanting Jason to start a fight in the first few seconds.
"Sure." Jason replies mildly, still eyeing Finn suspiciously.
"Here you go." Daisy says while holding a paper bag out to Elijah, hoping to get rid of the uncomfortable atmosphere. After school, they had made a detour because Daisy insisted on picking something up from her home. "I didn't bring a housewarming gift to the ball."
"Thank you, darl-Daisy." Elijah replies. He and his brothers were trying not to use too many pet names for their mate when Jason was around, not wanting to unnecessarily start drama.
"What is it?" Niklaus asks, curiously peeking over Elijah's shoulder, hoping to catch a glimpse of the contents of the bag.
"It's an apple pie. Thank you, Daisy, that's very thoughtful of you." Elijah says, trying not to think of the dozens of sweets that were waiting in the kitchen.
"Please follow me." Finn offers, holding his arm out for Daisy.
Daisy blinks before hesitantly taking Finn's arm. 'It is probably just good manners' Daisy thinks. She looks over her shoulder and sees Rebekah talking to Jason, he is so enraptured in his talk of football that he doesn't even notice Rebekah's annoyed expressions.
The previous night, Rebekah was ordered by her brothers to entertain "that rotten kid." That way, the brothers would have plenty of time to talk to Daisy. Rebekah had protested, she wanted to get to know Daisy too, and that didn't work if she had to entertain the boyfriend. After Niklaus had explicitly promised not to dagger her for the next 300 years, she agreed happily.
Finn and Kol had reacted indignantly. After pestering Niklaus for a few hours, which included Kol throwing toothpicks at Niklaus like darts, the hybrid had given in and made them the same promise, something he was bound to regret.

Daisy almost doubled over in laughter when she saw the dining table. She now felt a little silly for bringing an apple pie but appreciated Elijah's earlier display of appreciation anyway.
The Mikaelsons had not anticipated this exuberant response.
They were pleased however that she didn't seem to be making fun of them, but rather of the table, which was so full that there was hardly room for their plates.
Daisy was placed at one end of the table and Jason on the other, the Mikaelsons wanted to create as much distance between those two as possible.
"Umm, what kind of tea would you like, Daisy?" Niklaus asks, pacing nervously in front of the table. This was it, the question he dreaded, what if she named a kind of tea that he couldn't offer her? This whole thing would be ruined. She couldn't not drink tea at a high tea, he would just have to go to the supermarket again.
"Anything is alright." Daisy replies, smiling a little confused at Niklaus, wondering why he looked so anxious all of the sudden.
Niklaus blinks at her for a moment, a slight twitch under his right eye. He wasn't sure if his mate was joking. 'Anything is alright' That was way too vague for him. He was sure he would make the wrong choice, that she would hate whatever he picked and eventually hate him.
"We have multiple kinds, do you have a favorite?" Niklaus asks after clearing his throat to get rid of the hoarse feeling.
"I really don't but umm, maybe English breakfast?" Daisy suggests, looking unsurely at Niklaus.
"Yes, yes of course. Excellent choice, lo-Daisy." Niklaus replies, nodding in agreement with his mate's choice, glad he could provide that specific flavor.
Niklaus quirks his eyebrow at Jason, caring a lot less about providing Jason with his desired tea flavor.
"Yeah, I don't want tea, thanks." Jason answers Niklaus's silent question, waving a dismissive hand in his direction. As the son of a founding family, Jason has already had plenty of high teas and brunches. His mother always made him participate, but tea just wasn't his thing, he preferred something stronger. Besides, he didn't feel the need to stay here long anyway. The less he had to interact with the Mikaelsons, the better.
Niklaus nods curtly before hastily making his way towards the kitchen. He was glad he could escape Jason for a few minutes. The urge to knock the boy's head off his torso grew by the minute.
"What's up with that one?" Jason asks, looking unimpressed with the man who was basically a stammering mess.
"He is a bit...tired." Elijah replies, looking straight into Jason's eyes with a cold expression. He didn't tolerate people, besides himself and his siblings, making fun of his brother or disrespecting him during such a sensitive and exciting time.
Elijah looks pointedly at Rebekah who rolls her eyes but resumes her task of distracting Jason.
"Thank you, Niklaus." Daisy says as Niklaus places a pot of tea in front of her.
"Call me Nik, please." Niklaus coaxes softly, feeling a lot calmer now that she was here and settled.
"I'm sorry." Daisy says. "Thank you, Nik.
"It's alright, no need to apologize, love. I just want you to feel comfortable enough around me to call me Nik." Niklaus explains softly while briefly touching Daisy's hand. "Niklaus is so..."
"Stupid?" Kol suggests, smirking at Niklaus before stuffing a cupcake in his mouth.
Finn narrows his eyes at Kol, who was currently eating one of the cupcakes he had decorated for Daisy.
"No! I was going to say formal, Kol!" Niklaus snaps, glaring at his little brother.
• • •
"You baked all of this yourself?" Daisy asks, looking impressed. She had tried several of the sweets, which were so good that she almost let out happy tears.
Jason had left the mansion ten minutes ago. He was being picked up by Davis. Daisy didn't mind his departure much, he'd been texting and sulking all through the appointment. His conversation with Rebekah had died out and he was visibly annoyed with the whole event.
"Yes, we did, darling." Elijah replies, puffing up in pride. His inner vampire was immensely pleased he could impress his mate and satisfy her with his baking skills.
Kol looks at his plate in slight disappointment, this was a disadvantage of his new school career, he had not helped prepare the high tea.
"You guys did an amazing job. Could you maybe teach me how you made the baklava one day? I can never manage to get it to look this good." Daisy asks bashfully.
"Certainly, my love!" Finn replies enthusiastically. He had made the baklava and was more than happy to get a few moments alone with Daisy in the kitchen.
All the Mikaelsons felt a bit more at ease now that Jason had left. Their conversations were less forced and it was easier for the Mikaelson men to connect with their mate.
"We could have a baking day this weekend?" Kol suggests, looking for any excuse to get his mate to visit their place often. He had rarely cooked, but he was sure he could learn it if it meant spending time with his mate.
"That sounds great."
A/N:
Apologies I am not familiar with the American school system, so I made something up about classes and periods?
I made the Mikaelson men a little antsy. In my other stories, the Mikaelsons see their mate for the first time and are not really separated after that, because they are forced to live together. This is not the case in this story. So they cherish her visit and presence that's why they have the urge to make everything perfect.
I hope you enjoyed it.
Lots of love,
