"Finn?"
Daisy immediately retracts her hand and takes a step back, suddenly realizing that she had almost kissed the eldest Mikaelson brother. Guilt and shame crept over her, she had broken up with Jason not even 24 hours ago and she was already trying to kiss someone else. Blushing, she looks up at the red-haired woman who was glaring at her and Finn. The woman was quite pretty even when glaring, she did seem a lot more mature than Daisy, which made her feel even more naive and silly.
Finn frowns slightly as he notices his mate's discomfort, he himself wasn't comfortable either under Sage's intruding gaze. He promptly grabs Daisy's hand and is glad to see that she doesn't pull away from him. Finn hadn't expected to see his ex-lover again, especially not when he was just about to kiss his mate.
"Who is this Finn?" Sage asks in a sharp tone. She looks appraisingly at the girl who had just had her hands all over her Finn. The girl was pretty, young, and obviously a human. Three traits that pissed Sage off. She too had been young and human once, before Finn turned her.
"This is Daisy." Finn replies simply, his eyes remaining on Daisy.
"I'm Sage, Finn's girl-" Sage pauses as she sees the dark look Finn shot her. Confused she furrows her brow, she had waited 900 years for her loved one to return, and now that he had returned he seemed infatuated with this trifling teenage girl.
Daisy swallows, it wasn't hard to guess what the woman was going to say next. She blinks up at Finn, who was still glaring at the woman. She should have guessed, of course, Finn would have a girlfriend, it wasn't as if she was hoping to date him. Almost kissing him made her as bad as Sophie and how could she imagine that the eldest Mikaelson would be even remotely interested in her? She was probably far too young for him anyway.
The Mikaelsons had never mentioned partners before, Daisy was fairly certain that Kol was single but maybe Elijah and Niklaus also had life partners. She felt incredibly silly for having mistaken their kindness for something else. Daisy wants to slip her hand out of Finn's but Finn doesn't let her.
"I think it's best if you left." Elijah comments, walking up to the three people. Elijah, like his other brothers, had watched the interaction from the car and thought it was time for a slight intervention.
Although Sage wasn't an Original, she was quite strong, which made her an almost equal opponent to Finn when it came to strength. Elijah would have no problem killing the woman but he wasn't sure if Finn would feel the same way. Once Daisy was safe, Elijah would discuss with Finn how to deal with his ex, maybe they could compel her to move away.
Sage looks at Elijah, sizing him up. She had never liked Finn's siblings, in her eyes, all of them were elitist monstrosities. Sage turns her head to smile darkly at Daisy, who was still holding onto Finn's hand. Sage's smile widens a little upon hearing Daisy's racing heart, the girl feared her, as she should.
"I will hopefully see you soon, Daisy." Sage promises in a sweet tone before briskly taking off, disappearing into the night.
Elijah looks at the car for a moment, contemplating what to do next. He was certain the vampire would return as soon as they had left. Keeping Daisy safe was his number one priority, if that meant compelling his mate again, then so be it. He shares a dark look with Finn, who had followed Elijah's train of thought and nodded solemnly, before grabbing onto Daisy's shoulders.
"Daisy, for your own safety, I need you to pack an overnight bag and meet us down here in a few minutes." Elijah stares into Daisy's eyes, who simply looks back.
Daisy looks interestedly at Elijah's dilated pupils, it reminded her of the night with the bloody kitchen. She wanted to nod but thought better of it. "Alright, 'Lijah." After Elijah lets go of her she walks inside, quickly making her way up the stairs. Daisy didn't understand what danger there would be if she didn't go with them, but decided not to ask any further questions. She trusted the Mikaelsons and if it was something bad they would tell her eventually.
She quickly texted her mother, who was already on her night shift. She was glad her mother agreed to the sleepover. She seemed pleased that her daughter got on so well with the new residents.

"You just had to turn that harlot." Kol complains while throwing Finn an annoyed look. He was still a little jealous that Finn had almost kissed Daisy.
After sending Daisy upstairs, Finn had returned to the vehicle, patiently waiting for his mate's return. Kol had immediately shot Rebekah a text message to notify her of Daisy's visit. They had cleared out the blood bags last night after the dreadful event, but it would be best if they didn't have any more slip-ups.
"You are in no position to judge me Kol." Finn retorts, glaring at Kol. It was indeed unfortunate that Sage had decided to show her face again after the longest time, but they would take care of it. Sage would not get to harm Daisy in any way. "Let's not bring up all the nightmarish people you have turned out of pure boredom."
"Remember that wench you turned? The one from France who kept fainting on top of Elijah?" Niklaus adds, laughing loudly at the memory of Kol's tortured expression.
Kol is about to retort when the car door opens, revealing Daisy, holding onto her backpack. Elijah was standing behind her with a bemused expression on his face, obviously, he had heard their conversation. He'd rather not be reminded of this particularly annoying woman. After four days of receiving her unwanted attention, he had abandoned his sense of decorum and killed her. It had been a mercy kill really, a 'service to the country of France' as Niklaus had called it.
Daisy crawls into the backseat, joining Finn and Kol. During the car ride, the latter entertains Daisy with little anecdotes he had picked up during his past travels while Daisy slowly dozed off, exhausted from the day's events.
"Good job lulling our mate to sleep, you managed to be even duller than Finn for once." Niklaus comments dryly upon seeing his mate's head nestled on Kol's shoulder, sleeping soundly.
Kol merely rolls his eyes before pressing a kiss to the crown of Daisy's head. He wasn't going to let Niklaus's jealousy ruin the fact that his mate had chosen him to snuggle with.

Daisy had just returned from the kitchen, successfully obtaining a glass of water, when she hears a frantic knocking on the front door. She had been relieved to see that the kitchen wasn't covered in blood this time.
Wandering into the foyer Daisy briefly contemplates if it was proper for her to open the door seeing as it wasn't her home. Without worrying too much she puts her glass on the staircase and proceeds to open the door, there was no need to wake up the entire house for this one visitor. Surely she could tell the visitor to come back at a more suitable hour.
Daisy blinks drowsily at the guest not expecting to see Sage on the doorstep. "Hi, I umm-I can call Finn?" Daisy offers awkwardly while picking a bit of dust from her shirt.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Sage snarls. Her enthusiasm for seeing Finn drained immediately and was replaced with contempt. Back in the day she and Finn had often met up late at night, away from prying ears and eyes. She had thought she could surprise Finn with a trip down memory lane, show him all she could offer him that Daisy couldn't.
"Well, 'Lijah asked me to stay over?" Daisy replies carefully, barely grasping the fact she was having to defend her presence to this woman at three in the morning.
"Of course he did. Isn't one Mikaelson brother enough for you?" Sage snaps. She could have guessed, the way Elijah had aided this girl earlier. Ironic that Rebekah had made her out to be a streetwalker yet the blonde let this girl sleep around with her brothers, in their family home nonetheless.
Daisy blushes, not exactly sure what the woman was insinuating. "I don't think-" Before Daisy can continue she is cut off by Sage's hand around her throat. Daisy lets out a startled yelp while Sage speeds forward, slamming Daisy against the nearest wall with an iron grip on her throat.
Daisy groans at the impact, her head throbbing instantly. Her eyes widen in alarm and she starts to frantically tug at Sage's hand, which seemed unrelenting. Daisy didn't have much time to wonder about Sage's unnatural strength or speed as she racks her brain for possible ways to get out of this life-threatening situation. She was pretty sure that begging would get her nowhere, not that she could use her voice right now.
"It's a real pity no one was home at your place. I would have loved to paint that dull house of yours in your blood." Sage snarks. She had hoped to get rid of the pesky distraction before visiting Finn. "No worries, I can do that just as well here." Sage whispers lowly, a menacing grin taking over her face, enjoying the sight of the writhing girl.
Daisy shivers at the wicked grin and the knowledge of the death that would have awaited either her mother and herself if they had been home tonight. The mental image of her mother dying at the hands of this cruel woman made a sob escape her lips.
Daisy wraps her hands around Sage's wrist while blinking heavily to get rid of the spots in her vision. She didn't think grabbing the wrist of her attacker would do much, but perhaps she could pinch the woman hard enough so her grip would slack slightly. Anything was welcome at this point seeing as the air shortage was becoming quite acute.
Suddenly a tingling sensation shoots through Daisy's hand, much stronger than it had in previous times. Sage lets out a low groan and to Daisy's astonishment, she sees Sage's face contorted in discomfort.
Daisy's not sure what is happening to make the woman groan but she continues to hold onto Sage's wrist until the woman finally loosens her grip on Daisy's throat.
Daisy falls to the floor, clutching at her throat while gasping for breath. Sage glowers and is about to lunge at her, ready to tear Daisy's throat out. Sage found it beyond insulting that a teenage girl seemed to best her, a 900-year-old vampire.
Daisy sees Sage approaching her and raises her arms trying to protect her head while simultaneously squeezing her eyes closed. Daisy knew thanks to her mother that one wrong hit on her head could kill her. When she doesn't feel any pain and hears a thud she opens them again, looking shocked at the sight before her.
Sage was on the floor, eyes closed and completely still. Daisy worries the woman might have had a heart attack and proceeds to crawl towards her to check her pulse.
Daisy lets out a sob when she can't detect a heartbeat. She had killed someone, maybe not directly, but she had been involved in this lady's death. There was no way she could explain this to the Mikaelsons, they would be horrified and disgusted with her. As if on cue Rebekah could be heard from upstairs.
"Daisy? Where are you?" Rebekah awoke a few seconds ago and raced into the hallway when she didn't see Daisy in her bed. The soundproof feature off her room had prevented her from hearing the events that were happening downstairs. Rebekah usually kept her room ajar for emergency's but Daisy had shut it when she went wandering downstairs.
Daisy looks up at the stairs, her mind racing with options of what to do next. She could run or hide, but she was pretty sure the police would find her soon enough. Hiding the woman's body also wasn't an option, there was no way Daisy could drag the body out of there quickly enough.
"What are you shouting about at two in the morning, Bekah?" Kol grumbles, stumbling out of his room. He had gotten up for some blood but halted once he saw his sister.
"Daisy wasn't in my room, I got worried." Rebekah explains while smiling sheepishly at her brother.
"Is something wrong with Daisy?" Kol asks, looking alarmed while peeking over Rebekah's shoulder to look into the now empty bedroom.
"I'm sure nothing's-" Rebekah is cut off by Daisy's voice, coming from downstairs.
"Bekah?" Daisy's hushed voice can be heard clearly by the vampires. "I think I have done something bad." Daisy continues, not able to hold back a sob. She had backed away from the body and was now seated against the wall Sage had rammed her against, a red spot was visible on the wall where her head had hit. Daisy's knees are pulled to her chest and she looks frightfully at the dead woman as if scared she could come back to strangle her again.
Kol shoots his sister an unimpressed look, who in turn glares at him and speeds towards the staircase. Kol's eyes widen in shock as he sees Sage's body sprawled onto the foyer floor. He scans the room until his eyes land on Daisy.
Rebekah speeds downstairs and gently takes Daisy's face in her hands to check for injuries, swallowing when she sees her friend's tearful face.
"Daisy? What happened?" Rebekah asks softly. Daisy merely shakes her head, not daring to look Rebekah in the eyes. It wasn't hard to guess the first part of the fight. Sage had obviously barged in and tried to attack Daisy, Rebekah however doesn't understand how that ended with Sage knocked out and Daisy still alive. Whatever had happened, she was incredibly grateful for it. She was certain that Daisy's death would leave her brothers inconsolable and sick with grief and guilt.
Kol was keeping his distance, not sure if he should intervene, his mate was reasonably upset and he didn't want to overwhelm her. His inner animal paced anxiously, not sure how to console his mate. Whatever happened he needed to make it right, he would make everything alright.
He looks worriedly at the bloodstain that was visible on the wall and then at the purple bruise that was already forming around Daisy's throat.
Rebekah sits down next to Daisy and pulls her onto her lap, motherly instinct playing up. Gently shushing and rocking Daisy like one would do with a kid she gestures for Kol to get rid of Sage. Daisy didn't need a reminder of whatever had happened. Rebekah mentally curses her brother for the soundproof rooms. Sure it was nice if they had visitors, but for things like this they were awfully inconvenient.
Kol grumbles a little at having to leave his mate like this but follows Rebekah's instruction nonetheless, Rebekah would protect his Daisy. He quickly drags Sage's body away, towards their cellar, where they often kept inconvenient people. Kol didn't care that Sage's head bumped against each stair step the way down, she tried to kill his mate, a headache would be the least of her worries.
While chaining the woman up Kol wonders how Daisy had managed to knock the vampire out. The thought that she might have died in their home under their watch was devastating to Kol. They should have been more careful.
Walking back upstairs he sees his sister and Daisy in the exact same position. Kol walks up to them and gently lifts Daisy out of his sister's lap, holding her bridal style. Daisy lets out a small whimper at being pulled away from her friend but doesn't object further.
"Can you wake the others?" Kol asks in a gentle tone, not wanting to startle his already sobbing mate further. Rebekah nods and speeds off. They needed to talk about what had happened, this couldn't wait until morning. Daisy was upset and confused and going to sleep right now would most likely bring nightmares.
Kol gently places Daisy on the kitchen counter to fetch her a new glass of water. "Please drink, Angel." Kol coaxes, pressing the glass in Daisy's trembling hands.
Daisy didn't dare to look Kol in the eyes but brings the glass to her lips nonetheless. She wonders briefly how quickly the Mikaelsons would call the police when they heard the truth. Daisy winces slightly when she swallowed but drank the entirety of the glass anyway.
"Do you want some more?" Kol asks, taking the empty glass from Daisy. Upon seeing Daisy shaking her head he lifts her off the counter, carrying her to the living room. It hurt him a little that his mate wouldn't meet his eye but he understood. Kol had just settled his mate on the couch, with a blanket draped over her legs, when the other Mikaelsons pile into the room.
Daisy toys a little with the fluffy tassels of the blanket, not looking at the Mikaelsons. She felt terrible, besides killing someone she was now also disturbing everyone's sleep. This was the second time they had to see her upset.
Niklaus is distraught as he sees his mate's tear-streaked face and hearing her soft sobs. She looked like a little bundle of sadness on the couch. When Rebekah woke him up he had been close to slamming the door in her face but he had basically sprinted out of the room when he heard that Daisy was hurt. Rebekah had rolled her eyes and muttered "typical" but he had ignored her.
Niklaus quickly takes the free spot on the couch beside her and grabs onto her hand, gently stroking it. He hadn't comforted people in quite some time and felt a little awkward but he resolved to do his best for his mate. Flashes of his childhood shot through his brain, how he had comforted Rebekah when they had been children. Just like then a certain protectiveness now played up.
Elijah narrows his eyes a little upon seeing the bruise on Daisy's throat. He resolves on the spot to heal that later for her, he was sure that offering her his bloody wrist now wouldn't do much good. Settling for the next best thing he offers her the tissue box that sat beside the couch. Elijah manages to bite back a scoff at not being able to provide her with one of his high-quality linen handkerchiefs. Now his mate had to dry her eyes with these dismal good-for-nothing paper tissues.
"Could you please tell us what happened, dear?" Rebekah asks as soon as she and the other siblings had settled themselves on the various couches and chairs.
Daisy raises her head a little to look at Rebekah, her eyes flicker briefly over at Finn, not sure how to start. "Sage-I opened the door. She was at my house. Wanted-she wanted to hurt me." Daisy starts before shaking her head slightly, frustrated with her own stammering.
Kol promptly pulls Daisy onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her while whispering small encouragements in her ear. Daisy sighs softly as she leans into Kol's warm body and gathers her thoughts before starting over.
"Sage told me she came by my house, to kill me. She then ran towards me and slammed me against the wall, choking me." Daisy pauses for a second, a phantom pain of having her windpipe crushed suddenly acting up. "I grabbed her and she let go? And then she fell to the floor...dead."
Niklaus shares a look with Elijah, not sure what to make of these events. Sage was a very old vampire, there was no way Daisy could have just made Sage stop mid-attack. Something else must have happened that made the woman stop.
"You grabbed her and she let go." Rebekah echoes hesitantly.
"Yes I felt a tingling sensation in my hand and she let go." Daisy elaborates, not fully understanding what had happened herself. It sounded a bit foolish when she explained it like this.
"Tingling?" Niklaus replies mildly as multiple theories ran through his head, all sounding far-fetched and impossible.
"Sparks I think. I feel them when I am touching one of you as well. Don't you?" Daisy asks carefully.
"I feel very exuberant whenever near you, darling, but no, not literal sparks." Kol hums near Daisy's ear, smiling broadly as he sees a small smile forming on his mate's lips. He already suspected what was going on with his mate.
Niklaus rolls his eyes. Kol already had Daisy on his lap, he could at least tone it down on the flirting.
"Did you do anything else before Sage... fell unconscious?" Elijah asks.
"No, I mean-I tried to protect my head for another attack." Daisy replies, trying to remember what else she could have possibly done.
"Alright, Angel. I have a theory of what happened." Kol interjects, more than willing to solve this mystery for her. "I know it can be difficult, but I need you to keep an open mind, do you think you can do that for me?" Kol asks, turning Daisy a little in his lap so he could look into her eyes.
Daisy nods, she was more than eager to hear his thoughts on what could have happened.
"If my suspicions are correct you are a siphoner." Kol announces.
A/N:
Bam, the cat is out of the hat/bag, not sure how that saying goes (both sound cute tho). Our dear Daisy is a siphoner.
A little bit of info I found on siphoners which hopefully supports my story:
Very little is known about siphoners, especially with regards to how or why they came into existence. Their conception and birth appear to be the same as that of ordinary witches, given that many siphoners do not know of their true nature until adolescence.
(Vampire Diaries Wiki)
This explains Daisy's sudden discovery of her magic seeing as she is still quite young. As mentioned earlier in the story, Daisy's father walked out on her mother when she was pregnant, this resulted in her growing up without any knowledge of her father's relation to the supernatural world.
Kol got some extra time with his mate :). I am trying my best to make sure each Mikaelson gets some Daisy-time, I apologize if the balance is a bit off sometimes.
I haven't actually watched more than 2 seasons of To (because I am so scared of all the stuff that's going to happen in it) so I am not sure if Kol has actually come across a siphoner in his past travels, so sorry if there is any inaccuracy)
I hope you enjoyed this chapter dear reader.
Lots of love,
