Thursday 9:00
Hospital:
Luca and Street walk into the hospital and are about to open the door, when nurse spots them from the Nurse's Station, and she rushes over
"I'm sorry, but you can't go in there" she tells them politely
"Why?" Street asks
"I'm just relaying the message. But from my knowledge, Christina had a nightmare, a bad one. After she asked to not have anymore visitors" the nurse walks away. Then Deacon comes into the hallway. He walked in and saw the group talking, but was too far away to hear what was said
"What's going on?" He asks
"Apparently Chris said no visitors after she had a nightmare last night" Street explains
"Do you think she remembered something?" Luca asks
"There's no telling what she remembered" Hondo says from behind, the four guys look into the window. Chris lays with her back to them, curled in a ball. She lays there, vulnerable and weak. The opposite from their bad ass friend
"Hondo" Luca starts "she looks so different, it's almost like someone else is sitting there. This isn't Chris, not really. Hondo, what if she is never the same again"
"Chris is still in there Luca, but she is lost, we need to help her" he replies "I am going in"
"We are too" Deacon says
"I'm not going in" Luca mutters
"Why not?"
"I think it's better that way, if she remembered everything, your chances of getting her to talk are higher without me" Luca reasons
"We don't know if that's the reason she is hiding" Tan says, coming from behind and opening the door. The group enters and stands in the door way, Chris doesn't even turn to look, knowing who is there
"Hi Chris" Tan says, she doesn't reply
"How are you feeling Chris?" Street asks
"How did you get in here?" She whispers
"Just used the doorknob" Street jokes lightly
"You can't be in here" Chris replies sharply
"Why not?" Hondo asks trying to calm her
"I don't want you in here!" Chris shouts, then she coughs, her body refusing to keep up with her anger
"Why?" Tan asks
"Just leave" Chris answers, when Deacon tries to put a friendly hand on her, Chris reacts by moving away "get off"
"Chris, please, help us understand" Street says "we want to help"
"Then leave" Chris whispers "none of you are who I thought you were" before anyone can answer Dr. Brentwood, Dr. Willis, and Annie come into the room
"Gentlemen, I understand this is confusing, but can we let Mrs. Kay try?" the doctor says
"Annie?" Deacon asks
"The doctors asks me to come and Bonnie's on her way as well" Annie says, she goes over to Chris' bed. Taking her time, Annie sits beside her, but doesn't touch her
"Hey Chris?" She asks "do you remember me?" Chris shakes her head "I am Annie"
"Annie?" Chris asks, vaguely remembering "why are you here?"
"I think we should talk" Annie's says
"Why?"
"Because we both know that things are confusing right now" Annie explains, keeping her voice low and calm "and I want to help you remember" Chris doesn't answer. Annie takes Chris' hand, and this time, she doesn't pull away
"Why don't we talk outside?" Dr. Willis asks and the group leaves Annie and Chris. Out in the hall "this is going to be a confusing time as Christina battles with PTSD"
"What does that mean for us?" Luca asks
"Well, she is going to experience many memories again. However, unlike normal PTSD, Christina doesn't remember anything that happened which makes it harder to cope with the flashes she is seeing"
"I'm sorry I don't understand" Tan says "so it's like she is stuck in the past?"
"Kind of, it's very hard to explain because this rarely occurs. A way to see it is that Chris understands that whatever happened to her is over. However she doesn't know how it ended, and right now, Christina doesn't know who did it too her. It's like watching a horror movie, watching the villain kill a character with a face mask on. You know that the character is dead, but who is the killer?" she explains
"Oh god" Deacon says "that is awful. Is there anything we can do?"
"Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do until she remembers more. However, with all that said, I can make some guesses here"
"What are your guesses?" Street asks
"I gave Chris a rape kit, because I truly believed she was raped. And I was sadly proven corrected"
"How did you know?" Luca asks
"If I am being honest, there were physical signs when she came in and how she reacted when she entered the hospital. She refused to see any male doctors, or males in general. I believe that Chris remembers, and she's angry, but is also scared. This is most likely because she doesn't know who it is. But her guess is that is was you " Dr. Willis' words sink
"Wait a minute here, you are telling us that Chris thinks we... we were one that abused her?!" Luca asks and is answered with a slight nod
Hi guys! Sorry for the short chapter. But there will be another update, hopefully today! I thought I already posted this chapter. So I deleted the edited version and worked on the next chapter oops :)
Realizing this morning, I had to re-edit this one. HOWEVER, the next chapter is already edited. I just need to reread it and then you will have another chapter. Determined to finish this story for you guys! Thanks for you patience and kinds words, they motive me more than you might think
