Hello people of fanfiction!

Finally I'm writing a chapter about Zuko and Toph's relationship, I know it's been long overdue but I'm really sorry, I've been too focused on other sides of the story that I neglected this plotline, but I'd like to inform you that I already wrote two chapters and that this story is coming to a conclusion really soon, I hope you love this one, it's short.. but wholesome.

Zuko was headed to a place to try something for the first time, and that's having a first date with someone outside of Caldera City.

He felt like, with all the drama happening in their lives, he's been neglecting Toph, so he decided to make up for it and attend the date that he set up with her.

Zuko decided to go to her house in his car to pick her up, he was dressed in casual, a Blue shirt and black jeans, with his somewhat expensive watch and he finally decided to make his hair, he finally got his first compliment from Azula as he was headed out, she told him that she would have told him he was handsome if he wasn't going to a date with her best friend, at least she thinks I'm handsome, Zuko thought as he was headed out of the apartment and going to the garage to get in his car.

He finally arrived at Toph's house to find her waiting from him at the entrance, and he was mesmerized by her looks.

she was wearing a short blue dress that barely covered her chest, she made her hair in a beautiful bun and put on some makeup, to Zuko, she was the most beautiful woman in the world, and she appeared to notice him being taken aback by how she looked like, that explains the shy smile on her face.

"You look gorgeous." Zuko said, completely out of breath, Toph only giggled very girl-like, which only made her even more gorgeous.

"You too." Toph replied, appearing to mean every word.

Zuko finally snapped out of his daze and got out of the car quickly, he went to the other side and opened the passenger door for Toph, she giggled again by the behavior and put her hand to cover her mouth.

"Such a gentleman." She said as she got in the car.

Zuko smiled widely as she said so and closed the door behind her, he got back to his side of the car and got in, he started the engine and moved to their destination.

"So, where are you taking me?" Toph asked.

"It's a surprise." Zuko only replied, so Toph just trusted him and stopped asking about their destination.

"Alright.. How's Azula by the way? I haven't seen or heard from her in two days." Toph asked.

"She's alright, she wasn't too pleased when I told her that I'm going out on this date, but at least she said that I looked okay." Zuko said.

Toph chuckled, "Yeah, she has a point." She said and looked ahead.

"My mother on the other hand, she's very happy that I'm taking you out on a date, she says that I couldn't have found a better girl." Zuko said, taking a few glances at her every now and then.

Toph only blushed at the compliment by Ursa, "That's why I love her, how's she by the way and how's her husband and her daughter.. what's her name? Kiyi, right?" Toph asked.

"Yeah, that's her. they're all alright." Zuko answered.

"I'm glad." Toph said.

"So, how's your mom and dad?" Zuko asked in return.

"They're both great, you know? this is the first time I go out on a date and they don't feel worried about me." Toph said.

Zuko only chuckled, "Yeah, I guess I'm good enough." He said with a smug smile.

He expected Toph to come back with a snarky remark, but she only said, "You're perfect." with a fond smile on her face as she was looking at him.

Zuko looked back at her with the same fond smile to the point that he forgot that he was on the high road, but he was snapped out of it immediately as he arrived at a turn and a car was about to crash into them, Toph screamed and Zuko maneuvered the car with ease.

Zuko thought this was enough to ruin their date, but Toph only laughed loudly, "You should keep your eyes on the road." She said still laughing, and the music of her laughter calmed Zuko down and he started laughing with her.

"It's not my fault you look this gorgeous." Zuko said back to her, and Toph couldn't keep her cheeks from getting beet red.

"Thanks. you look very handsome too." Toph replied back, and it was Zuko's turn to blush.

Zuko moved his hands to brush hers, Toph's cheeks got even redder by the gesture but then she snapped out of it and her hands moved and got into his, they kept holding hands for the rest of the road and it was driven in comfortable silence, just the two of them holding hands in peace and staring ahead with smiles on their faces.

They finally got to their destination, it was a hill overlooking the sea.

Toph got out of the car and could only stare in shock at the beautiful scenery, "What's this place?"

"I didn't know about until two weeks ago, It was Aang who showed it to me, said that he comes her often to meditate and clear his head before musicals." Zuko said as he opened the car trunk to get the package which was a basket of food and drinks, and also a blanket to set on, Toph helped him with the basket and Zuko laid the blanket on the ground, the couple took a seat on it and Zuko opened the basket to get the sandwiches out.

"Strawberry Jam! It's my favorite!" Toph said as she clapped her hands enthusiastically and immediately took a bite, Zuko could only chuckle at her antics.

"Yeah, I know. couldn't help but ask Azula about your favorite tastes of everything, I had to make it the best date because you deserve nothing less, Toph." Zuko said looking at her with admiration in his eyes, Toph returned the look.

"Thanks, Zuko. it makes me so happy that you are the exact same guy I pictured. kind, loving and would take good care of his woman, You're really something special." She said looking at him with the same fondness.

They kept looking at each other, not even realizing that they were inching forward, they got very close that they almost kissed, but they immediately snapped out of it, as their eyes widened and they both moved their heads away.

Zuko decided to divert her attention by laughing nervously and saying, "I got you your favorite drink too." he dipped his hand in the basket and brought out a plastic cup and a spoon, Toph's eyes widened in shock.

"Is that what I think it is?" She asked.

Zuko smiled, "Indeed it is.. a caldera city fruit cocktail, I ordered it specially for you." Zuko said placing the plastic cup and spoon in front of her.

Toph looked at him and smiled widely, Zuko was taken by surprise as she immediately wrapped her arms around his neck and brought him in for a hug, he felt like the luckiest man on earth just at that particular moment, he reciprocated the hug and wrapped his arms around her waist.

They finally came out of their hug and they looked into each other's eyes, "Thank you, Zuko.. This is by far the best day of my life." She said, before taking her arms off him entirely and taking the cup of fruit cocktail, she got off the plastic cover and started eating with her spoon.

she made a happy eating sound as she put the spoon filled with fruit in her mouth, "This is amazing." she said as her mouth was filled with fruit.

Zuko chuckled again and scratched his hair, "I'm glad you are happy." He said.

"I'm the happiest woman on earth. you know? I still can't believe you actually agreed to go out with me on a date, up until the party in my house, it was only just a dream." She said.

Zuko smiled at her, "I still can't believe I'm able to fall in love again." Zuko said and he immediately put his hand on his mouth but it was too late, Toph heard it, and the plastic cup fill out of her hand, with the fruit falling all over the blanket, but both didn't care, for different reasons, Zuko because he said something that he couldn't believe he did, and Toph because she heard something she couldn't believe she did.

"What?" Toph asked, her eyes getting very wide and looking really terrified.

Zuko felt his heart getting crushed, he feared the worst, Toph doesn't actually share his feelings, she only treats him as another date of hers, so he only said random words,

"I'm sorry.. I'm not- I shouldn't have-" He kept stuttering but he was stopped by Toph's lips crashing into his.

Zuko was shocked again, he couldn't believe that Toph just did that, she kept kissing him that he got out of his shock, he put his hand on her cheek and kissed her back gently, he still can't believe that this is happening, but he could only enjoy the moment.

They finally came out of their kiss looking each other in the eyes, Toph was first to speak, "Do you how long I've waited to hear you say this?" Toph asked, her face could only be described as that of the most beautiful woman in the world.

Zuko smiled back, "Well.. You have my blessings to hear it again.. I love you, Toph." Zuko responded.

Toph giggled and said, "I love you too."

The couple embraced and finally decided to sit there in silence watching the sunset on the hill, Zuko felt very proud of himself as he picked this perfect place for a first date, it was very peaceful, very quiet and very romantic, a place fit for the comfortable silence that they were both in, smiling as they kept watching the sun fall into the horizon.

they spent the rest of the date talking about the usual stuff, with a few romantic words here and there and a couple of kisses, and they finally decided to head home, Zuko dropped Toph at her house but not before saying that he loves her and having her responding back that she loves him too, they both felt like the happiest people in the world, Zuko finally finding love again, and Toph finally finding the real man for her.

They both went back to their houses smiling widely and having the time of their lives, much to Azula's distaste as she still wasn't used to her brother dating her best friend, but she could only feel good as she watched Zuko going to his home with a smile on his face, she could only think that Toph was feeling the same, and indeed she was.

Awww.. I love writing about those two beauties.
