Many years ago disaster struck the land of Equestria. An unknown creature shambled its way out of the Everfree. From the very first attack Equestria was doomed.now we live in small secluded villages, cut off from the world. I live by myself in a town that used to be called Ponyville.

What if the tale, so beloved, of Hearths Warming Eve never occured. What if all six ponies perished from the cold blows dealt by the Windigos? What if the three types of ponies never grew close, never worked together. What if they remained divided throughout the ages. When Twilight is summoned by Princess Celestia to Canterlot she found something to answer those very questions.

This is not a Twilight/Spike pairing. They are just the two who would most likely host such a study. Anyways, this is what's written on the tin. It's a thorough analysis of the potential romance which can occur in a situation like My Little Pony: Friendship is magic. The analysis will be followed by subsequent pairing oneshots done by discretion and in due time by request.

The entire collection might not be sad, but this a a collection of one-shots about background ponies that are mostly going to be tearjerkers.
