Charlie's thoughts

Part 1: Charlie's thoughts after a lecture

Takes place after Don and Charlie's first case together

"That's the end of the lesson for the day, the test is next week, so if you have any questions, you can see me during my office hours." Charlie said before dismissing his class.

It had been a busy month, with school midterms coming up and with the recent case he had worked with Don.

"Working with Don." Charlie said silently to himself, before he smiled, as the thought was still really new to him, though he had helped out on a fraud case before this one but it felt different.

He had noticed that Don was a little angry or something similar when he had first looked at the notes but after relenting he actually looked happy after a while, especially when he met with him at the aftermath of the case.

That thought made him smile, as it could mean that things could get better between them and maybe they can eventually find common ground.

His thoughts were interrupted when Larry came into the room, clearly needing to talk to him

"What's up, Larry?" He asked his old friend

"I was hoping you could help me with a peculiar problem with one of the students, as he seems to be having some problems with one of his classes, if you have the time?"

"Sure, Larry, my next class isn't for another couple hours, let me see what I can do." Charlie answered with a smile as he went to follow his mentor to his office

"I appreciate it Charles, I know you were pretty busy with that case and I hope that I did not overstep any boundaries."

"No, Larry, you were just being a friend." Charlie said with a knowing smile, as he knew it likely not be the last time that Larry would object to his work with the FBI.

Who knows, maybe in the future, Larry would find that it wouldn't be so bad to work with the FBI after all.
