Mei and Zabuza sat in the kitchen with the former clicking her nails against the bar. "They should be back now. It isn't that hard to get groceries." It was then that the doorbell rang. Both adults went to check it and opened the door to a giggling Mangetsu and Naruto.
The latter had Amaya on his back and reeked of sake. Zabuza burst out laughing and Mei grew angry. "Dammit Mangetsu, did you have to get them so drunk?" Her answer was a giggle before the swordsman ran off.
Zabuza's laughter increased when the fleeing swordsman fell. Mei ignored the men as she pulled the kids in. Naruto was stumbling so much that she was afraid he'd fall up the stairs. "Zabuza-kun, get your ass over here and help me." She shouted.
Said male grabbed Naruto and carried him up the stairs. He placed the redhead into his bed and began to pry Amaya off. It seemed that the girl didn't want to let go if the shadow spike below Zabuza's crotch said anything.
"Just leave them." Mei said, walking out of the room. Zabuza quickly followed her and closed the door.
*A couple hours later*
Naruto awoke with a massive headache and a lack of vision. "Uhh, I'm never letting Mangetsu talk us into drinking again." He groaned while trying to push off the bed. Keyword there being try.
His arms were locked up so he lifted his head to see what locked them up. It seemed that they were being used as pillows by Amaya. He had to suppress a pervy giggle when he saw that. Looking down at himself, he noticed that all of his shinobi gear was gone along with his shoes.
"I wonder." His wonder was correct, Amaya was in the same state of dress as him. 'Kyuubi, can you dial down my nausea? I'd like to enjoy this without throwing up.' A grunt came from the demonic fox.
Naruto silently thanked him when he felt the bile in his throat go down. After that, he just laid there for a little while. Naruto got an itch on his shoulder and used his head to scratch it. "Don't move so much." Amaya said in a sleepy tone.
Naruto resisted the urge to shriek and nodded into her neck.
*A while later*
Naruto sat on the side of the tub, holding up Amaya's hair as she puked into the toilet. Standing at the door was Zabuza with a very amused expression. "Zabuza-sensei, could you grab the Advil out of the cabinet for me?" Naruto asked.
Zabuza shrugged and did as asked. After force feeding one to Amaya, Naruto took one of his own. "Why doesn't Kyuubi take care of your hangover?" The swordsman asked.
"He's asleep right now and he's already helped. I would've puked whenever I woke up if it wasn't for him."
It was around that time that Mei came into the room. "It's mission time. You two decided to get drunk on the line of duty so you're gonna have to suffer through it."
Amaya raised her head from the toilet and glared at the woman. "If I puke on the client then it isn't my fault." Naruto patted her back and shook his head.
"We could always give them a gift basket later, tell them we're sorry." Mei clicked a few times and wagged a finger.
"Nope, we're going on a C-rank. Meaning that the client won't be around to apologize to." Amaya looked appalled.
Naruto just had a blank face. After a few seconds, his face returned to normal and Kyuubi's chakra surrounded his hand on Amaya.
A few seconds later, the girl sat up with a surprised face. "Thank the furball for me." She stood and cracked her neck.
Mei groaned childishly at the door. "C'mon that's cheating." Naruto smirked at his aunt. "All's fair if you're a shinobi."
*Yagura's office*
Team Zabuza stood in front of Yagura's desk. "I'm surprised Mei-chan didn't try and force her way onto this mission." Zabuza commented, getting a nod from the Mizukage. "I might have threatened her sushi but that doesn't matter. Your mission is to protect the client and her family from a business man that has taken over the island of Nami no Kuni.
There might be some missing shinobi so this could easily be bumped up to B-rank or even A.
Her father is trying to build a bridge to the mainland but Gato, the business man, doesn't want his control of Nami to go down. You three just have to protect them until the bridge is finished and if you can, kill Gato and transfer all of his business to Kiri.
We'll have an ally with Nami no Kuni by the end of this mission." The Mizukage pressed a button on his desk and in walked the client. She was a woman looking to be in her late twenties with long blue-coloured hair.
The woman had on a short-sleeved pink shirt with the end of the sleeves and the collar being red in colour. On her legs was a long blue skirt. Once seeing the shinobi, she bowed. "Ohayo, my name is Tsunami."
Team Zabuza gave bows back before their sensei spoke. "I'm Momochi Zabuza and these are my students, Uzumaki Naruto and Nara Amaya. We will do our best to protect you and your family." His genin were surprised at his professionalism.
"It's very nice to meet you all. If we leave right now then we should be able to reach Nami by nightfall." Tsunami said. "You're dismissed." Team Zabuza left with their client and began the journey to the docks.
"Tsunami-san, if you don't mind, we could get to the docks a lot quicker with a simple teleportation jutsu." Naruto suggested. The woman seemed to weigh it for a little while before nodding.
"If it increases our speed to get to my family then go ahead." The group moved to the side of the road and stopped. "Just grab hold of one of my arms." Naruto said, focusing his chakra. Every person in the group grabbed onto him and Naruto started to count down.
"3.2.1." By the time he got down to 2, they were already teleported into the port town. Tsunami turned to the side and barfed into the water. Naruto patted himself on the back for teleporting them on the dock.
"No matter how many times you do it, it will always amaze me." Zabuza said, already walking towards the small boat. After Amaya handed Tsunami something for her nausea, they joined Zabuza on the small boat.
It was a little bit bigger than a rowboat with a steam engine in the front, just behind a glass window. "I must warn you, the engine is quite loud so we're going to have to row once we get a few miles from Nami." The woman said, climbing onto the boat.
The shinobi joined her on it and she started the engine.
*A few hours of boating later*
Naruto and Amaya rowed the boat into the small canal surrounded by reeds. "Finally, some dry land." Naruto commented, jumping from the boat to land. "Naruto, we need eyes." Zabuza said, helping Tsunami off the boat.
The redheaded genin opened his sensing field to its max and cursed out loud. "Ino, Sasuke, Sakura, and one of my former ANBU guards are on this island. He must've become a jounin sensei. I also sense two other signatures, they're about chunin level."
Amaya sighed. "Activate your seals, Ino's a sensor. Zabuza-sensei, you can hide your chakra signature right?" The ex ANBU nodded. "Do you have any idea why they're here, Tsunami-san?" The Nami citizen nodded.
"My father said that he wanted to go get shinobi for protection but I didn't think he would do it since he's such a cheapskate. I had to use most of my savings to hire you four anyways." The shinobi nodded.
"Do you remember the looks of this ex ANBU?" Zabuza asked his genin. "His name is Hatake Kakashi." Zabuza whistled and shook his head. "Tsunami-san, I want you to head back to your home and not mention anything to your family about us. Just say you were out fishing." The woman nodded and began to walk towards town.
The ex-ANBU turned to his team. "We're going to shadow the family. Don't show yourselves unless the family is in harm's way and no Konoha nin is present. I don't want to blow Kiri's cover on this mission. If you see another shinobi that isn't Konoha then kill them, they probably work for Gato.
Speaking of Gato, I'm leaving his assassination to you two. Make it clean and find his safe, someone like him will keep all his cash with him. Kill those two chunin if you will." With that, their sensei faded into a mist via a Kiri Shunshin.
"There's a mass of chakra signatures at the northeast end of the island so I'm guessing it's Gato's place. Just follow me." Naruto said before they began running towards the place. They reached it within a few minutes and stopped in the trees surrounding it.
The place was a mansion with a wall surrounding it, inside the wall was a bunch of tents with men in them. "60 men in total, none with active chakra. The two chunin are somewhere else. On the top floor of the mansion, there's three signatures. That must be Gato and two guards." Amaya shifted her weight on the branch.
"Are all the other men in the courtyard?" The redhead nodded at her question. "Sairento Kiringu?" She asked. "Yep, we kill everyone in the courtyard before moving upstairs. We could burn the place down if you'd like." Naruto said.
A gleam entered Amaya's eyes, she loved burning things down. "Can I do the thing with Gato?" A dark chuckle came from her male comrade at her question. "I love when you show that side."
The Nara smiled at him and went through the needed hand seals for the Kirigakure no Jutsu. Naruto quickly used Suiton: Teppōdama so that Amaya could have a water source. A thick mist soon covered the entire mansion grounds.
"Happy Hunting."
The next few minutes would be filled with confused men getting their throats slit by two sword wielding genin. Amaya decided to scare the last guy and let the mist get thinner until her shadow could be seen.
"Who's there? I swear this isn't funny guys." The man said, gripping onto his sword. Amaya lit up her sword with fire chakra and spoke. "Your friends are dead. You'll meet them soon." Soon meant right then and there as Naruto's sword went through the man's throat.
After yanking it out, he let the body fall. "Would you like to take the stairs, m'lady?" Naruto asked in his royal accent. "Indubitably." She responded in her own accent and walked towards the door.
The redhead opened it and bowed at the waist. Once they got inside, they started walking and talking normally. "There is something wrong with the both of us." Naruto commented, getting a shaking head from Amaya.
"Nope, we're just two teens having fun." She said, while kicking in the door that Naruto indicated at. Two samurai wannabes were on her before Gato could yell. She dispatched them both with a single slash.
"Your guards suck ass." The ravenette said, stepping over the bodies. "Who are you? What do you want? Money? Land?" His questions stopped whenever he felt something pierce his thighs. Looking down, he saw two giant black spikes going through them.
Naruto walked into the room behind the female comrade and whistled at the man's pained face. "You've done a number on him and you've yet to do the fun bit." Gato paled and soon found out what they meant by the fun bit.
Well, he would've found out if the fun bit didn't cause any instant death. "I'm still frightened that you can manipulate the shadows inside of people." Naruto said, looking at the shadow spikes coming out of every bit of Gato from his head to chest to his legs.
"That's another reason for you to stay on my good side. I could kill you so easily." Amaya commented, earning a pout from her partner. "But you wouldn't be able to kill me." The Nara nodded at him.
"Anyways, do you think the safe is behind that bookcase or basement?" She asked. Naruto shook his head side to side for a minute before deciding. "Behind the bookcase, my guess on the book is whatever one is about philosophy. It's probably on the bottom shelf since he's so short."
Amaya walked over to the bookcase and pulled on the first philosophy book she saw on the bottom. It clicked and Naruto let out a dry laugh. Amaya pulled out the bookshelf, exposing a giant vault.
The walls were solid metal and stacks of cash were in the corners. In the middle was a glass container with different pieces of jewelry. "So we give the cash to Zabuza-sensei and take the jewelry?" Naruto asked.
Amaya looked at him with a confused face. "What jewelry?" A smirk grew on the male and they both walked up to the case to study all the items. There were 4 rings, a pair of earrings, and a single necklace.
Two of the rings were gold and the other two were black with silver etchings. The earrings were rectangles with a white moon surrounded by the night sky. The necklace was just a silver pillar with some kanji written on it.
"Whatever I don't wear you have to." Amaya said, breaking the glass with a kunai. Naruto shrugged, the jewelry was gender neutral anyways. He pulled out some sealing scrolls and began sealing up the money.
He'd have to use 5 scrolls in total. "All my scrolls are used up. You done trying everything on?" Naruto asked, turning to the girl. He regretted doing it when he felt the hot metal pierce his left ear.
"Ha, gotcha." Amaya said, jumping back from the outcoming hand. "Dammit, that fucking hurts you know." The boy said, reaching up to his ear. "Don't take it out or I'll have to do it again." Naruto grunted and stood up.
"You're lucky that I care about your well being." The redhead said. Amaya walked up to him and reached up, setting the necklace around his neck. "Stop being a baby. Here." She put a ring in his hand.
"The gold ones were fake but the black ones were real silver." She commented, showing the ring on her left middle finger. "It's a special size changing ring so just put some chakra into it after it's around your finger."
Naruto slid it onto his right ring finger and began to walk out of the vault. "Since you're being so mean, I think I might just take all of your pocky when we get home." Amaya looked at him with betrayal.
"You wouldn't." Naruto smirked at her. "Try me." Naruto's smirk went away whenever Amaya's appeared. "You take my pocky and I tell everyone that you purr when your whiskers are pet." Naruto stared at her.
"How do you know that?" The Nara's smirk grew bigger. "You forget that we slept in the same bed last night. You brushed your head against my neck a lot." The girl spoke through her blush and Naruto blushed as well.
"How about we call a truce?" It was quickly agreed upon as they exited the building. Naruto walked through the front gate while Amaya used Katon: Hosenka no Jutsu to set fire to the mansion.
They walked from the flaming building and Amaya sucked them both into her shadow hall. Once inside, they walked to the end and exited out of a shadow before repeating the process. Soon enough, they were at Tsunami's home.
Amaya found Zabuza's shadow and pulled him into the hall. The man was cursing the whole way. "Did you have to do that? It's terrifying." Naruto smirked at the man. "Is the great Demon of the Mist scared of a little shadow?"
After dodging a shuriken the boy stuck out his tongue. "Boys, calm down. Zabuza-sensei, we killed Gato and his men. Naruto-kun has the money and the mansion is burnt down." Amaya said, forming a chair of shadow underneath Zabuza.
The ninja swordsman mumbled something about pyromaniac sadists before speaking up. "Alright, give me the money and go kill those two chunin. I don't want any variables in this mission."
Naruto gave him the 5 scrolls as the man sat down. "How much oxygen do I have?" The man asked Amaya. "An hour give or take a few minutes from the two of us being here as well." Zabuza nodded at her.
"Go, I want you two back within 10 minutes." The two genin departed. Whenever they got into the trees, Naruto started looking for the chunin. "They're in the city. This should be easy enough as long as we come from the shadows at the same time."
His partner nodded and off they went. After a bit of travel, they were in a shadow hallway with two openings being the shadows of the chunin. "Gozu and Meizu, the Demon Brothers." Amaya commented.
Naruto placed his ear on the opening so he could hear. "That damn Copy Ninja, he didn't have to tie us up like pigs." Meizu said. "Calm yourself, we're lucky we could get through the ropes before ANBU could arrive." Gozu said, earning a grunt from his brother.
The redhead pulled his ear from the shadow and nodded at Amaya. They both placed their sword tips against the openings, which were directly below the two brothers, and Naruto began to count down.
When his count hit 1, their swords were put through the openings and pierced through the two brother's openings. They pulled their swords back and got the blood off of them. Rising from a different shadow in the room, they saw that Gozu was still alive. That didn't last long as a shadow spike went through his heart.
"We should take their heads for the bounties." Naruto suggested, already moving to cut off Meizu's head. After both brother's lost their heads and they were sealed up, the two went back to Zabuza's position.
Entering the shadow hall, they met their sensei with a couple of heads. Zabuza fell out of his seat at the sudden appearance of the Demon Brothers on his lap. "Would you two stop fucking doing stuff like that?" He looked at the two genin and saw they were both on the floor dying of laughter.
"Seal these back up and get comfortable. We're gonna be here for a while." He said, throwing the heads at the two genin.
