It was another day of gathering fruit for Flora, the Butler family and Tana while both Lok and Gorok went hunting for meat.
Flora was confused about the name of the fruit that Gorok had told them to get as they were picking a bright red fruit that seemed to sparkle in the sunlight, but she felt that something was off about it.
"This fruit sure is good!" Greg said as he ate some, Flora shook her head at him as she helped Tana. "If you eat anymore of the fruit, we won't have any for later." Kim told her son as she walked by the kids.
Kim had set the fruit into a basket that Glump had tied to his back in order to help. "I have to agree with Greg, Mom, but I also agree with you." Katie chimed in; she was holding out the basket for her father.
"Let's just hurry and finish before Lok and Gorok come back." John told everyone, he put more fruit into the basket. "You won't have to wait very long, because here they come." Flora responded to Mr. Butler.
Tana turned to see her brother and father coming back with some type of animal for dinner. "Look Gorok, we got a lot of fruit." Greg said with a smile, however Gorok was not pleased with the fruit they got.
"This is not the fruit you were to gather." Gorok replied gruffly, Flora knew something had been off. "Did we do something wrong?" John asked in concern, he saw Flora dumping the basket she had with her.
Gorok explained to them that the fruit was for a dinosaur that would come from a very long distance just to eat it and that's when they head the roar. "It's a Brontosaurs!" John exclaimed in worry and shock.
"Leave the fruit and head for those rocks!" Gorok ordered, everyone except Greg did as he said. "There's no way I'm sharing my fruit with some dumb dinosaur." Greg muttered; he ran after the rest of the group.
Flora had noticed that Greg refused to give up his fruit. "You're going to get in trouble." Flora hissed at him; Greg just smirked as he covered the basket. "You should listen to Gorok and Flora." Tana had added in.
"Look at him go!" Katie exclaimed in awe; the three kids watched as the Brontosaurs gobbled up all the fruit on the ground and tree. "We should get back to the cave." Kim told the others; they all went back.
Everyone returned to the cave as they waved to the people from village before greeting Gara. "We still need to figure out a way to get out of the valley." John said to his wife, Flora sat down next to Tana to play.
"You speak of leaving our valley, why?" Gara asked them, she and Gorok were confused. "No offense but we're not used to sitting around the fire talking about who got killed yesterday." Katie answered for them.
Flora listened to their conversation as she thought about her teacher and classmates who were probably worried about her. "Or they might be thinking that I'm dead by now." Flora thought before shaking her head.
Before the adults could continue, the ground and cave started shaking. "What's going on?!" Flora shouted in fear, the shaking was followed by a familiar roar. "The Brontosaurs followed us!" Katie cried out in worry.
"Why did he come here?" Gorok asked while walking backwards, his heel hit the basket, so he uncovered it and found what the dinosaur was after. "Who brought this to the cave?" Gorok asked in anger, Flora sighed.
"I did and I'm sorry for not listening to you." Greg replied meekly to Gorok, his parents were upset with their son and told Gorok that this wouldn't happen again before they gave the fruit to the Brontosaurs to have.
However, instead of leaving after finishing the fruit, the Brontosaurs looked for more all while causing a cave in. "Over here everyone!" Gara said as she kept Flora and Tana close to her as everyone hid behind the rocks.
Gorok managed to drive the Brontosaurs out of the cave but due to the cave in, the entrance was now closed up. "A cave in! That's just what we needed!" Katie said sarcastically, Flora then felt water wash over her feet.
"It's worse than that! The cave's filling up with water!" Flora told Katie; everyone was worried about the cave flooding. "Greg, Tana and Flora get to higher ground." Gara ordered them, this time Greg did as he was told.
"This is all my fault." Greg said sadly, he realized now that he shouldn't have been selfish. " Then let's find another way out to help the grownups to make up for it." Flora said with a smile, Greg and Tana followed her.
As the three kids left the main part of the cave, Tana stuck close to Flora since she was afraid. "I have never been in this part of the cave before." Tana admitted, the trio of kids walked further and further into the cave.
"Do you think there's anyone else in here?" Greg asked the girls; Tana didn't know, and Flora sighed. "Unless there's a nest of Pterodactyls or a Quetzalcoatlus, then no." Flora said with a snarky tone, Greg looked back.
That's when the three heard a mini roar. "What was that?" Greg asked Flora, she held a finger up to her lips to silence him as they listened to the roar again. "Sounds like a baby T-rex." Flora responded softly to them.
"Up here? How is that possible?" Tana whispered asked, in that moment, they figured out that another cave opening had to be nearby them but first, they had to get away from the baby dinosaur that just appeared.
Flora had been right about it being a baby T-rex. "RUN!" Flora shouted to Greg and Tana, the three ran until they saw some rocks that they could climb onto. "Start climbing!" Greg told the two girls, they were safe.
"Now what do we do?" Tana asked her friends, luckily, Katie had found them. "Looks like you could use a hand." Katie called out; she used a stalagmite that the baby grabbed and dropped him into a hole in the ground.
Once the hole was covered up, Greg, Tana and Flora got down. "I hope you three know that you're in a heap of amount of trouble." Katie told them; Greg explained that they had found another way out of the cave.
"Problem is, is that's too small." Flora told Katie, so the four made a plan to send the kids out through the hole and get some help. "I'll go help finish up the hose to syphon out the water." Katie said before parting ways.
Greg, Tana and Flora made it out of the cave then ran to a village elder for help but were told that the men wouldn't be back in time to help so the trio went back to where the Brontosaurs was in front of the cave.
"How do we help them?" Tana asked in worry, Flora looked at the rocks in front of her. "Maybe we can make him move with another rockslide." Flora suggested, so that's exactly what they did to scare the Brontosaurs.
The kids then got some vines to help get the four adults, two teenagers and two pets out of the cave. "Now we can move the rocks and clean the cave." Kim said before her family tried to make some excuses to leave.
"Attention!" Kim said sternly, John, Katie and Greg froze before getting into a line. "Let's get the rocks moved." John told his kids, they agreed as Flora laughed at their antics, but she also joined in to help clean up.
"Flora and the Butler people may be strange, but they are good people." Lok said with a laugh, he and his family watched their friends. "I like Greg and Flora." Tana announced, the cave family laughed in agreement.
Later on, after the cave had been fixed from rockslide and water leak, Flora went to the back of the cave away from the others to practice her dancing as she finished stretching, then heard the music in her head start.
[Play When it's only me and the music from Jem and the Holograms]
[Flora]
(Music)
When I take the floor
As I've often done before
I feel a change come over me (over me)
I get such a thrill
It feels like time is standing still
And starlight is the only thing I see
When it's only me and the music
I leave the world the behind
(Only me and the music)
When it's only me and the music
I am free
I am poetry in motion
When it's only me and the music
(Music)
My heart starts to race
I go soaring into space
And music is the only thing I hear
When it's only me and the music
I leave the world behind
(Only me and the music)
When it's only me and the music
I am free
I am poetry in motion
When it's only me (only me)
And the music!
Flora had just knelt to the ground when she heard clapping, making her look up. "That was amazing!" Katie said with a smile, Flora blushed as she saw all her new friends standing in front of her smiling at her dance.
"How long have you all been there?" Flora asked them, Tana went over to her. "Since we all first heard your voice start to echo." Tana answered Flora, her face turned fire engine red. "Flora?" Kim asked in concern.
"Flora, you have a beautiful voice." Lok told her, Flora didn't say anything as she was frozen, so Tana hugged Flora and snapped her back to reality. "It is okay." Tana said gently, her friend hugged back and hid her face.
The Butler's finally understood that Flora must've had stage fright and that's why she didn't like preforming in front of others. "No one was supposed to see me practicing that song or dance yet." Flora admitted shyly.
"What do you mean?" Greg asked her, Flora sighed then explained that she was supposed to preform for her classmates at the end of their fieldtrip with some of the kids from the village, that they were staying with.
"That reminds me, Flora why we're ten-year-old's on a class trip without their parents?" John asked her, Flora gave him a confused look. "I was allowed to go since the director said I could." Flora answered him calmly.
"Director?" Kim asked confusion, Flora explained that the director of the orphanage let her go on the trip as she was actually a high-school student. "WHAT!?" The Butler family shouted in shock; Katie face-palmed.
Gorok, Gara, Lok and Tana were very confused by the way the Butler family reacted to what Flora had said, but they had a feeling that this director was not someone that Flora was related to, due to the name of them.
"That's why you looked familiar to me!" Katie said with snap of her fingers, both girls explained that Flora was a prodigy, so she skipped a few grades to get into the same high school that Katie actually went to for class.
"But what about you're parents?" Greg asked gently, Flora looked at the adults straight in the eyes. "I've never met them as they left me at the orphanage." Flora answered Greg, her calm demeanor worried Kim a lot.
Flora decided that she was done with the topic of her history, so she and Tana went out to play with the other kids in the village. "John?" Kim started; her husband already knew that they would all watch out for Flora.
Gorok, Gara, Lok, Katie and Greg also promised to watch out for Flora so nothing would happen to her. "We should begin the food preparation." Gara told them, everyone went to help with dinner while the kids played.
Everyone watched as Flora played with Tana and the other kids all while thinking of what they had learned from her just now but decided to talk about to later as it was time to eat and share stories around the fire.
New chapter done! I kind of did my own version of the first episode while trying to stick to the original version at the beginning of it.
