At the lagoon, Flora and the Butlers were fishing while John and Kim were setting up a trap to help catch whatever creature was stealing the fish.
The trap would be a simple one that would catch the creature by the wrist before John got it down then he'd release whatever the thief was in a whole new location away from the fishing nets.
Flora was standing watch for the creature in case it was watching them since it felt like the animal was similar to humans after seeing it's tracks in the sand where the nets had been left behind.
"This should catch what's been taking the fish." John told Kim; the two adults stood up. "I hope so or else we'll have to find a new fishing spot." Kim replied to John, they looked at the tracks again.
"I still can't get over how almost human the tracks look." Greg said as he held a basket, Katie joined her family. "You think the creature could be the missing link?" Katie asked her parents in wonder.
As the family conversed about the mysterious creature, Flora looked at the trap and the tracks in worry. "I'd better stay here." Flora muttered; she could tell that something bad was going to happen.
"Let's head back and tell Gorok the news." John told his family, while the four went back, Flora decided to hide out in the bushes to do a stakeout in order to see what kept stealing the fish they'd caught.
It didn't take long before an ape like creature appeared at the lagoon. " Is that an Australopithecus Garhi?!" Flora thought in awe, then she realized that this creature was called Geebos by the valley people.
The men in the valley had spoken of Geebos before as he had been stealing the fish and most of the time it was fine as long as he didn't attack anyone in the valley since everyone was always careful about it.
To Flora, Geebos certainly looked almost human but had fur all over him meaning that whatever he was, he did come before the Java cavemen. "Geebos! Look out!" Gorok's voice shouted in urgence and fear.
Sadly, it was too late as Geebos got caught in the trap but so did Flora and when the two saw each other, Geebos screeched out what sounded like "Howdy do?" which made Flora give him an unimpressed face.
"Like howdy do yourself!" Flora told him, both she and Geebos were hanging right-side up by their wrists and had been suspended in the air before they had been carefully let down by another man from the village.
Once they were both on the ground again, Geebos gave Flora a gentle pat on her head since he sensed that she hadn't trapped him before he grabbed the fish and looked back at the men who were right behind Flora.
Geebos gave them an angry screech before leaving to head back to his tribe. "Now do you see what you have done?" The man asked John, Gorok tried to calm the man down, but he would not listen to reason at all.
"Flora, what were you doing here?" Lok asked her, Flora told him that she had stayed to see what had been taking the fish. "You could have been killed." Gorok scolded her, Flora apologized before they went back.
Once back at the cave, all the men were shouting at each other trying to decide on what to do in order to protect their home from Geebos and his army without hurting them in the process with little luck to help out.
"What about a smoke screen?" Flora asked John, the men paused and looked at the young girl. "What do you mean?" Gorok asked her, Flora told them that by using arrows that had fire, they could make smoke screen.
Like John, Greg saw where this was going. "We shoot the arrows to scare Geebos and his arm away from here, so they'll leave us alone!" Greg said with a smile, the idea had been approved by the men of the valley.
The plan was set into motion while Lok and Katie went to see Geebos and hopefully try to reason with him but when they came back, the two reported that Geebos was still going to attack them at any moment now.
Kim, Gara, Greg, Flora and Tana were helping to make the arrows and while Greg wanted to help the men, he knew better than to complain about only getting to make the arrows after what had happened last time.
Pretty soon, everyone heard tons of angry chatter before realizing that Geebos was ready to attack, the men and Katie began to fire the arrows over the heads of Geebos's tribe which scared them enough to run away.
Flora was now at the top of the valley where she could see the mini Geebos running for their lives and for some reason, it reminded her of a song she'd once heard when watching Jem and the Holograms back at home.
It was then, that Flora could hear the music for the song that had been playing in the episode start and that was when she knew that had to give in and sing that very song to Geebos and his tribe as all they ran away.
[Play Runnin' like the wind from Jem and the Holograms]
[Flora]
You never dreamed how far it would go
You never thought to look ahead, no, no
You let it get out of hand, babe
So look where it's led, so, so look where it's led
You're runnin' (runnin'), runnin' like the wind
Yeah, you're runnin' (runnin'), fear is in your eyes
You're runnin' (runnin'), runnin like the wind
When will you get wise?
Runnin' like the wind
Runnin like the wind
It didn't have to end like this
We would've found another way somehow
If only you had turned to me
But I'm afraid it's too late now, it's too late now
You're runnin' (runnin'), runnin' like the wind
Yeah, you're runnin' (runnin'), everything looks black
You're runnin' (runnin'), runnin' like the wind
But there's no turning back (runnin')
You're runnin' (runnin'), runnin' like the wind
Yeah, you're runnin' (runnin'), everything looks black
You're runni' (runnin'), runnin' like the wind
There's no turning back, there's no turning back!
When the smoke had cleared and the last of Geebos's tribe had left, Flora climbed back down to where the others were as they apologized to John, and he did the same since he had put everyone in danger at first.
"That was a fitting song to sing." Tana whispered to Flora, she giggled as her friends blushed. "It seemed like a good song to sing at the time." Flora replied with a shrug of her shoulders, Tana and Flora laughed a bit.
Now that Geebos and his tribe had left, the men went back to get the fish that had been caught earlier that day then brought it back to the cave where it could be handed out evenly, so everyone got enough fist to eat.
When it was time to make lunch, Flora and Greg showed Gara how to cook the fish by putting sticks through it before placing the fish around the fire to be cooked, it didn't take very long so the two families ate them.
Gorok and his family had never tasted the fish when cooked the way Flora and Greg had shown them, it was still good, and they were happy that it didn't take so long to get the fish cooked the way like it usually did.
After lunch, Tana, Flora and Greg went to play with the other kids in the village while the adults went to work on things in the cave in order For John and Kim to make up for what happened while Lok and Katie helped.
For the people of the valley, they were still getting used to the outsiders that had ended up in their home, but they would warm up to them eventually as they all helped one another to keep the village safe from harm.
New chapter done! Sorry if it's short and I don't own the song in this chapter or Geebos, please review and no flames!
