John and Gorok were working on another way to help get the hunting done a little differently, so no one would get hurt.
Flora watched them since this time, Greg was finally doing work that only men could do to which Flora scoffed at as she and Tana worked on making more nets for the men to use while hunting.
"I have never seen Greg so happy." Tana said as she tied the net together, the two girls watched as Greg used the wood the way John told him to. "At least he's not complaining." Flora replied to her.
As the groups continued to work, the ground started to shake. "What's happening?" Flora asked in worry, she and Tana dove for cover. "Is it an earthquake?" Tana asked in fear, she was scared of those.
John, Gorok and Greg made their way over to the girls before they all huddled in a group as the rocks began to fall all around them as they stayed close to the rock wall that was behind them and out of reach.
Just before the ground stopped shaking, the five heard a 'BOOM!' coming from the distance. "What just happened?" Greg asked John, his father looked around using his binoculars until he saw the volcano's smoke.
"I see smoke coming from the volcano and that means it'll erupt soon." John answered Greg, Flora and Tana looked worried since they had both been told to stay far, far away from the volcano as it is forbidden.
Gorok was now explaining to John why they can't go up there even he needed to see if there's a way to stop the lava flow from reaching the village down in the valley and soon enough, Gorok gave in once again.
"We should go tell Kim and Gara about this." Flora told Greg and Tana, the three kids ran back to the village where they found Kim and Gara along with Lok and Katie who were making lunch or just talking for fun.
Kim and Gara saw them first. "What's the matter?" Kim asked in concern, Greg explained that John and Gorok were going up to the volcano to see how much time they have to stop the lava flow before it erupts.
"Going up there is forbidden, and the council will not be pleased." Gara said to them after hearing the news. "We should talk to the council then since the village is in danger." Kim replied in worry for the valley people.
It was decided that Lok and Katie would go find John and Gorok while Kim and Gara spoke to the council with Flora, Greg and Tana staying with them, so the trio didn't wander right into danger again like normal.
"It is forbidden for anyone to go up the mountain!" Once council member said in anger, Gara tried to calm him, but his anger flared up when John and Gorok returned to the village in order to ask them for help.
The council argued with John and Gorok about going up the volcano and there was talk of punishing them. "ENOUGH!" Flora shouted in anger, everyone stopped arguing and looked at the young girl in surprise.
"Do you really care more about some rule than your own people and home? If that's the case, then you're clearly a foolish man! I suggest you stop fighting and start working on a plan to save the village!" Flora said.
Before anyone could answer her, another earthquake started so everyone ran outside to see what was happening. "The volcano is about to erupt!" Greg said in worry, luckily though, John already had a plan to help.
The men hammered wooden nails into the crack of a little cliff that had appeared during the first earthquake while Kim, Gara and the five kids helped them make another hose to get water into the crack when ready.
Most of the men were still in shock from when Flora shouted at them while the other half were wondering if John's plan was really going to work to help save their home just as the lava began to flow down to them.
Flora who saw the lava start to flow out, warned everyone but the process was slow going, so Flora decided to give them the motivation that they needed since it was a life-or-death situation that was on the line now.

At that last line, everyone cheered as the water got the wooden nails wet enough to force the cracked cliff to fall then ran just as the lava got close only for it to fall into the water below them where it could cool off.
"Thank goodness." Flora said with a sigh, Tana laughed as Flora sank to the ground. "Thanks for the motivation." Katie called out; Flora looked at the villagers who cheered since Flora had helped them in her own way.
"It was my pleasure!" Flora called back, Greg and Tana helped her stand up before everyone went back to the village to talk. "There will be no punishment." The same council member told John and Gorok with a smile.
Both John and Gorok's families rejoiced knowing that everything was back to normal...well as normal as it can get in the hidden valley. "I wonder why he decided not to punish them." Greg whispered to Tana carefully.
"I believe it was so Flora would not get angry again." Tana whispered to him, both Greg and Tana looked at Flora as they realized that even the men of village didn't want to see what happen if they angered her again.
The council all looked at the young girl in question as she smiled at them before they ran to go hunt for dinner. "I see what you mean." Greg responded with a laugh, Flora went to play him and Tana until lunch began.
After lunch, Katie, Lok, Greg, Tana and Flora went down to the lagoon to spend the rest of the afternoon playing hide-and-seek since it was one way to get out any extra energy and because it was fun to play together.
John, Kim, Gorok and Gara watched the kids fondly as they all played together and laughed as Digger and Glump joined in since it was one of those times where everyone could just relax and be normal for a while.
The four adults then watched as Lok and Katie told the three younger kids about the giant bird that lived near the volcano and how it tried to get to them but missed, the trio loved the story they were hearing now.
Everyone knew that more adventures would take place tomorrow and the five kids couldn't wait to see what would happen next as every day in the valley was always dangerous and exciting, so they'd be ready for it.
