Today Greg and Katie were out on a raft so they could get some more fish while their mother was holding it by a rope.
Flora and Tana were helping Gara while John, Lok and Gorok were working on something but soon, they all heard Greg call out. "Dad! Somethings wrong with mother!" Greg shouted in worry to him.
Kim collapsed as Lok jumped into the water in order to get Greg and Katie back to shore. "Is she alright?" Flora asked in concern, Gara told them that Kim was sick with an illness they'd never heard of.
Flora had been worried about someone getting sick while they were in a land that had been forgotten by time as there were no doctors to help them and now, she was worried that Kim's life was in danger.
The five modern humans had never heard of the sickness that Kim has, but since it's a normal sickness that the cave dwellers knew, it meant that Gara could cure Kim although she would need some help.
Everyone had to be careful, or the sickness could spread to the entire village, after getting Kim back to the cave it was decided that John, Gorok and the kids would help gather the ingredients for medicine.
John and Gorok managed to get the first of the ingredients then left to find more. "We got the berries you asked for." Tana told Gara, she and Flora put them into the pot like Gara had told them both to do.
"Will mother be, okay?" Greg asked in worry, he was worried that they'd lose her. "I will save Kim, but you must get the other ingredients." Gara responded gently, the three kids left the cave to help out more.
Flora saw just how worried John, Katie and Greg were and could sympathize with them but the concept of a bond that only families have still confused her since no one ever wanted to adopt her into their family.
"How do you think Katie and Lok are doing?" Tana asked her friends, neither Greg nor Flora could answer until they saw John and Gorok coming. "What's the matter?" Flora asked them. John caught his breath.
"We need your help and quickly!" Gogk said to Flora, she blinked in surprise. "What do you need us for?" Flora asked in confusion, before John or Gorok could answer, they heard the loud call of another dinosaur.
All five of them looked up to see a mother Pteranodon circling around an island in the middle of the water. "Katie and Lok are on that island with the last ingredient that Gara needs." Gorok told the three children.
"That Pteranodon is trying to get her egg back from Katie and Lok." John added in, Flora and Greg were confused. "Why'd they take her egg?" Greg asked John, that's when Flora figured why out the two took the egg.
"It's because the egg is the last ingredient." Flora answered for them, Greg then understood. "So, what is the plan to save Katie and Lok?" Tana asked Gorok, the two adults told the kids their plan and got to work.
Greg and Tana got the Pteranodon's attention while John and Gorok sailed out to the island in order to get the two teenagers. "Now what do we do?" Greg asked Tana, neither of them knew what the next part was.
"Now, we calm this mama down." Flora told them, Greg and Tana watched as Flora got in front of them so the Pteranodon could see her. "Flora?" Tana said in confusion, Flora could hear music playing in her head.

Flora had looked directly into the mother Pteranodon's eyes as she sang getting her to understand why the egg was so important to them. "May we please have the egg?" Flora asked in a whisper, the mother nodded.
Greg and Tana were shocked to see that the mother Pteranodon agreed to let them have the egg as she flew back to her nest. "That was incredible!" Greg shouted with a smile; Tana nodded in agreement with him.
"I'm just glad that actually worked." Flora said with sigh of relief, her friends laughed. "Let's get back to mother!" Katie called to them, the six ran back to the cave and gave Gara the last ingredient for the medicine.
Gara was able to make the medicine that Kim needed to cure her sickness before Gorok and John passed it out to the rest of the village in case anyone else got the same sickness as it could spread quickly to them all.
"Thank you everyone." Kim said with a smile, Gara told her that she had to remain on bedrest for a few days to which John agreed with her as did Greg and Katie. "I'll get better sooner than you all think." Kim replied.
Flora watched both families as they rested around the fire and wondered if she would ever have that kind family bond, however for now, Flora could only try and act like it doesn't bother her about not having a family.
But what Flora didn't realize was that her friends made sure to treat her like she was family because in their minds, Flora had been a part of both families from the start, and she understood that they loved her as well.
