Today, Flora was out playing all by herself since everyone else was busy and even when she asked, no one needed her help.
It's now considered very rare for Flora to be out alone without Greg and Tana, but since their families had things to do, Flora went into the forest in order to find something to keep busy while playing alone.
"I miss the other kids from the village." Flora said with a sigh, she was referring to the village kids that she'd promised to play with after her class was done with the hiking trip, sadly that promise was broken.
As Flora sat down, she then heard two gruff voices that belonged to strangers. "They have plenty of food here in the valley." One stern male voice said, Flora climbed up a tree to see who was talking and to hide.
"But we have very little food. If we scare the valley people, we can take their food and other things." A second gruff voice replied, Flora looked down and saw two unknown men and became afraid of the males.
Remembering what Gorok and Gara had told her, Flora then realized that these men were some of the wanderers or nomads that traveled all over the valley rather than settled down and stole things they needed.
Flora saw that the bad men were plotting to steal some the food that the men of the village had hunted along with whatever they wanted meaning that Flora had to go back and warn everyone before it was too late.
However, a bolt of lightning appeared and hit a small bush that was close to where the two nomads were standing, causing a fire. "No one can blame us for this." The first man told his friend, the two ran away for now.
"A forest fire is much worse than thieves!" Flora exclaimed in fear, she got out of the tree then tried to use dirt and sand to stop the fire, but sadly it had already begun to spread so Flora quickly ran to warn everyone.
Back at the village, Greg and Tana had finally finished helping their families and were about to go search for Flora when they caught sight of her. "Flora? What's wrong?" Greg asked in worry, she stopped before them.
"Gather everyone quickly!" Flora responded urgently; the three kids split up in order to gather the whole village. "What is the matter?" Gorok asked the young girl, Flora took a deep breath and explained the problem.
Once Flora told the villagers about the fire, Gorok followed by the men went to put out the fire using John's new invention which was luckily a makeshift version of a firehose on wheels and Greg got to help out as well.
Hoping that the men could handle that situation, Flora stayed in the village with Tana. "What are we doing?" Tana asked Flora, she told Tana about the two nomads that were planning to steal from the village right now.
Both girls were hidden and before long, they heard the men. "Let's take what we can." The first man told his people, the men of the nomads went into every cave and took what they wanted all while the girls watched.
"I have an idea." Flora whispered to Tana; the young cave girl wasn't sure Flora's plan was a good one, but she stayed hidden while Flora got the men's attention. "What was that?" One of the men asked the other men.
The leader looked around, not seeing anything until he heard Flora's giggling. "Come out now!" The leader shouted, after hearing his command, Flora came out of hiding and the men decided then and there to kidnap her.
Flora looked bored with the men as they came closer to her, so that's when she chose to put her plan into action in order to lead the men away from the village by making them chase her around the forest for a while.

Flora was back in a tree, looking down at the men who had been chasing her for a while now. "What's the matter? You guys givin' up?" Flora asked with a laugh, the leader of the nomads glared up at her as he panted.
"We have what we want. Let us return to the women." The leader told the others, once they had left, Flora ran back to the village where Tana and the others were waiting for her. "Flora!" Tana shouted happily to her.
Tana hugged Flora as Gara and Kim checked her over for any injuries. "What happened here?" Lok asked Tana and Flora, both girls told the adults about what had happened with the men of the nomads a little bit ago.
Gara and Kim lightly scolded Flora for getting the men to chase her before telling both Flora and Tana to stay in the village while they went to make sure none the foods had been mixed in with the medicine ingredients.
Meanwhile, Gorok, John, Lok, Katie and Greg went put out the fire which had begun to spread again, only this time the fire was headed for where the nomads were camped out at and they were completely defenseless.
So, Flora and Tana waited for the rest of the villagers to come back and once they did, the girls worked together with everyone to help clean up all the messes that had been made by the men when they were stealing.
Hours later, Greg, Lok, Katie, John, Kim, Gorok and Gara had finally returned and told everyone what had caused the fire to begin with and that the nomads promised to ask for help next time instead of taking things.
Once the village was back to normal, the four adults agreed that Flora wasn't going to be punished since she had helped clean up the messes made by the men along with the fact that she did help the village as well.
"We sure do make an awesome team." Flora said with Tana, while she didn't know what 'awesome' meant, Tana did agree. "It is better when we work together." Tana replied as the girls played with all the other kids.
