4 months later, they were still going strong. But Andy didn't know what Gibson had planned. They had been together for 5 months, but Gibson wanted to make it official. He wanted Andy to become more than his girlfriend, he wanted her to be his wife. He had been looking at engagement rings for the last month. He had finally found the perfect one. Once he had picked it up at the jewelry store, he placed the box somewhere where he could find it, but Andy couldn't. He had planned on proposing in a week.

He had got to 19 before Andy and whenever all the others were there. "Everyone, gather around." he announced. "Now what Gibson?" Bishop asked. "I need your guys' help with something I am planning on doing." he said. "What?" Vic asked. "I'm planning on proposing to Herrera, but I need some help with distracting her while I set everything up." he said. "Jack! Where are you going to do it at?" Bishop asked. "I was planning here but then I thought of doing it back at the apartment. Hell I can't even decide." he said. "Just do it here, Me and Montgomery can move one of the trucks out of here and spread candles around." Warren said.

"Hmm, that'll work." he said. "Me and Hughes can distract Andy back at the apartment and tell her that we're going to some bar but actually blindfold and bring her here." Bishop said. "Alright, I've got the ring hidden at home to where I can find it, but she can't." he said. "Man, you need Andy; she deserves to be happy." Miller said. "I know, I keep telling myself that. That's why I needed your guys' help on this." he said. "Count us in." Miller said. "Alright." he said. They then went their separate ways, secretly meeting quietly sometimes so Herrera wouldn't suspect a thing. The week had gone by faster than expected, today was the day. The day that Herrera would become his fiancée. He was planning to do it later tonight, around maybe 7 that night.

Gibson had been at the station getting dressed, he had told Andy to get dressed at home because he told her that he would meet her at the "restaurant". He then dressed in casual clothes. Maya texted him and told him that she and Hughes were with Andy and waiting for the go ahead to come. He had already grabbed the ring from home and threw it in his duffel when he came in for work earlier. He then texted Maya and told her to go ahead and bring Herrera, Montgomery and Warren had already set up everything and the last thing he had to do was scatter the rose petals. He then scattered the petals then hid in the room where the hoses were. About 7 on the dot, Bishop and Hughes showed, with a blindfolded Herrera. She was also wearing casual clothes, because her and Gibson both hardly wore fancy, except for a firefighters funeral.

Bishop and Hughes then led Herrera to where Gibson told them to stand, with rose petals around. They then stood with her until Gibson walked out. He had the ring in his pocket, and he walked behind her. "Baby, you're scaring me; can I take this off yet?" she said. The others were watching from above, so Herrera didn't know they were around. He then pulled the box out, and got down on one knee. "Now you can," he said. She then pulled the blindfold off, then looked at the rose petals surrounding her. Gibson then opened the small box, Andy turned around. Her hands covered her face, "Andy, you've made me the happiest man, when I first met you when I joined 19; I was in love with you then. Then it made me realize. I can't spend the rest of my life without you. Andy Herrera, will you marry me?" he said.

She then shook her head yes. He then got off his knee and placed the ring on her left hand ring finger. "And, I knew your ring size," he said. She never responded, she kissed him. "It's perfect." she whispered. They then kissed each other again, it had been the perfect night. "Now, I have one more surprise." he said. He then led her towards the kitchen. When she walked in with Jack, she saw more rose petals, and then the table with champagne on it. "Baby, what's all of this?" she said. "A little celebratory thing." he said. She then walked towards the table and then picked up the bottle. "Do you want me to pop it, or both of us?" she asked. "You can pop it if you want." he said. She then popped it.

Gibson then grabbed a couple of wine glasses that 19 had hidden and then set them on the table. Herrera then poured the champagne, and they both picked their glasses up and started drinking. By now, the rest of 19 had left because they didn't want to interrupt Gibson and Herrera. They then kissed again. "Tonight was just perfect." Herrera said. "I love you, forever." Gibson said. "I love you too." Herrera said, kissing him. She then yawned. "Well, it looks like you're ready to go." he said. "It's been a long night, and I'm happy." she said. Gibson washed the wine glasses and placed them in the spot they were and put the champagne away in the fridge.

They then walked out to Gibson's car because Herrera had rode with Bishop and Hughes. He then opened the door for her, he noticed that the others had cleaned up the bay and put the fire truck back. So that meant all he had to do was lock the doors. He then got in himself and they drove off back to the apartment. Herrera was already asleep 5 minutes into the drive. Once they reached the apartment, Jack got out and then opened Herrera's door quietly and then picked her up. He then carried her to the bedroom once he got inside the apartment. He took her shoes off and then covered her up and gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead. He then took in on how peaceful she was. He then got in bed himself.

That next morning, he was the first one up. He had decided to let Andy sleep because he knew she was tired from last night. He was fixing breakfast when she walked out. "Well, good morning, beautiful." he said. "I still can't believe this is real." she said. She then walked into the kitchen and wrapped herself around Gibson. He then turned around, and kissed her. "I got us both the day off, I knew you had to still be tired from last night." he said. She nodded acknowledging. He then finished making breakfast, handed Andy her plate and they both then went to sit on the couch.

Andy then elected to clean the kitchen. She wanted Gibson to at least rest some. Once she was done in the kitchen, she grabbed the blanket and then she got on Gibson, who was laying on the couch and covered up. He then put his arms around her and then started to run his hands through her hair. He then noticed that she was asleep, so then he went to sleep. Gibson then woke up about an hour later and noticed that Herrera was still asleep on him. He had no shirt on, so he decided to let her lay on him. 2 hours had passed, and she finally woke up. "Well, good morning," he said. "How long was I out?" she yawned. "I'm assuming 4 hours because I woke up an hour ago." he said. She then turned her head, and then looked into his eyes. "You know, we'll be perfect forever?" she said. "Yes, I know. I love you." he said, kissing her.

She then kissed him back. She then got up and went to the bedroom so she could get changed. They still had to talk about a venue, but they didn't know where. "Do you want something small or something big?" Gibson asked. "I really don't know. I'd rather prefer something small because I'm that type that doesn't like big crowds." Herrera said. He then thought, "Courthouse?". "Baby, what about a courthouse wedding? We can just have 19 be there." he said. Her head then popped out, "Now, I like the sound of that." she said. "It's easy, all we need to do is gather documents and then get a marriage license and a court approved officiant." he said. "And set a date." she added. "We still have to discuss that." he said.

"Let's see, we're in October now. I'm thinking of a March wedding maybe?" she said. "That does give us enough time to plan everything out, we get the license on March 10th, get married on the 13th." he said. "Perfect, all we have to do is get a judge and we're done." she said. He then got up off the couch and walked into the bedroom. "Come here." he said. She then got closer, and kissed him. He then picked her up and threw her on the bed. She then laughed, "this never gets old huh?" she said. "No, it never does. Soon, you'll be my wife." he said, kissing her. They then snuggled in bed, his chest still bare. "You know, all I want to do is lay here in your arms and listen to the thump of your heart." she said. "We'll be doing this a lot more when we get like a week off of work and call it our "honeymoon"." he said.

"I wish March could come faster." she said. "I know." he said. She then had to get up because she needed to go to the store. She then put her shoes on and grabbed the car keys and left. Gibson then took a shower, and then cleaned the house a little. Andy then returned about an hour later. Gibson then helped her carry the groceries like he always did. Later that night, they went to bed earlier than usual because they both had to work tomorrow. 5 months later, 3 days before the wedding. Him and Andy were at the courthouse getting their license. Gibson already had a suit, and she already had her dress, one that was like a wedding dress, but like a prom dress.

They got their license. Now they wait 3 days before they are officially married. 3 days went fast, the day had come. Andy had elected to get ready at the courthouse, with Maya in the room. Gibson was already ready, he was standing in the room with the judge waiting on Andy. 5 minutes later, the double doors opened. Gibson looked up, into her eyes. She then walked towards him. She then grabbed his hand once they got closer, she had a slight tear in her eye. The judge then read what they normally did. "Now, by the State of Washington, I pronounce you husband and wife." the judge said. They then kissed, the rest of 19 cheered.

Gibson and Herrera then walked out of the courtroom. Gibson's car was sitting there and waiting for them. They had finally decided to have a small party back at the firehouse. Montgomery and Warren had set up decorations already so they wouldn't have to on the day of. The rest of 19 had snuck ahead of them about 5 minutes before and left so they could be there when they arrived. "Andy Gibson, has a nice ring to it." Gibson said, as he was opening Andy's door. "That it does." Andy said, kissing him.

Gibson then got in on his side and drove off. He then pulled into 19's parking lot, and parked the car. He then opened the door for Andy. She then took his hand and then closed the car door and they started to walk towards the door. Jack then opened the door, letting Andy walk in. They then walked towards the kitchen, where the rest of 19 was. They then kissed one more time. Bishop was the one to see them come through the door. "Guys they are here, quiet down a little." she said. They then got in their designated positions and waited.

They then heard Andy laugh, then Miller got a view of them coming. Andy and Gibson had finally walked into the kitchen, and then got scared by the rest of 19. "Damn why do you all have to scare me like that?" Andy said. "Because we can." Warren said. Bishop then revealed the cake. "Maya, I thought you said you didn't cook." Gibson said. "I ordered it from a local bakery." Bishop said. "Here's the knife to cut it." Montgomery said. Andy then grabbed one side of the knife and Gibson grabbed the other. They then cut into the cake, and grabbed a piece each and stuffed it in each other's faces.

Gibson got the worst end of the bunch, so Andy helped him clean it. They then had their first dance. The night had winded down. Everyone went home. But Jack and Andy weren't done, they wanted to see the sky before they officially went home as husband and wife. They found a nearby bench after walking around for at least 10 minutes. "Today, was perfect." Andy said. "Yes, it was. Mr. and Mrs. Gibson forever." Jack said, kissing her. She then laid her head on his shoulder and they looked up at the night sky. They then both yawned, meaning that it was late and they should go back home.

Once they reached the parking lot, Andy was almost ready to fall asleep. Gibson got out and then unbuckled Andy and then carried her bridal style into their apartment. She had taken her dress off back at 19 and changed into something that was still a dress, but shorter. Gibson then took his suit off and then also got into bed. That next morning, Andy was the first one to wake up, but she wanted to lay on Gibson's chest, and so she did. Not even 5 minutes later, he woke up. "Well, good morning." she said. "Morning." he said, yawning. "Last night had to be the best day of my life." she said. "And, first morning as husband and wife," he added. "Marrying you was the best decision I've probably made in my adulthood." she said.
