Jack had finally woken up, but he was still groggy so Andy told him to sleep more; which he did which shocked her. Greyson was now babbling in her lap and she decided to bounce him up and down on her leg. She decided to see if she could introduce him to water; so she stood up while holding him against her lap and then grabbed the water cup and decided to fill it up. She then stuck the straw in there and then held it to see if Greyson would drink out of it. He then sucked on the straw and got a few sips and then she set it down on the cabinet. He then started to squeal and kick around. "Well, I see you're a happy boy," she said, tickling his belly. She had decided to put him in a onesie and put shorts over it. She had also brought the diaper bag and put it next to his car seat.
An hour had gone by, Andy changed his diaper twice, and then fed him, and then she put me in his car seat and gave him one of his toys to chew on and shake it. At least he was occupied. She then heard Jack moving around again and then saw him pull down the mask. "Well, you more awake now?" she asked. "Yeah; for the time being," he said, pulling himself up a little. "Well, I brought someone else with me," she said, bending down towards the car seat. She then lifted Greyson onto her lap. "Well, come here buddy," he said. Greyson then held his arms out and Jack took him. Greyson then put his hand into Gibson's mouth. Jack then gnawed on it and then saw Greyson's smile light up. "Well, someone recognized you pretty fast," she said.
"Yeah, someone's a happy camper," he said, standing Greyson up. She then sat on the edge of the bed and then started to play around with Greyson as well. "Andy, I love you," he said. "Love you too," she said, kissing him. 2 days had passed and Jack was then discharged from Grey Sloan and he had at least a week off before he could go back to work fully. Once he and Andy reached their house; she got out first because she had to get Greyson out of the back, but this time she left the car seat. Jack was now out of the car and Andy then went to the front door, unlocked it, and let Jack walk in before her. Jack had been sore all over the place from sitting in the hard hospital bed for 9 days. But now he needed to rest his sore body.
"Are you hungry?" she asked, sitting Greyson in his high chair. "A little but I'll eat something before I go to take a nap," he said. He then walked into the kitchen and then put his arms around Andy, who was making lunch. "You know, we all can go to bed right?" he whispered into her ear. "You want to now." She chuckled. "You know I do," he said. She then dropped the butter knife and then turned around. "You know, how about we get the babysitter to watch Greyson for this week and we can make up for what we lost in bed?" she said, kissing him. "You are also lucky that you have taken off this week," he said, kissing her neck. "Well, because I was worried about you, and we could also make up for the lost time," she said, as he was lifting her onto the kitchen island. "You want to now?" he said, running his hands through her hair. "Yes!" she laughed. "Ok, but first; you have to call the babysitter," he said, kissing her head. She then jumped off the island and then grabbed her phone and then made her way to call the babysitter.
He then started to finish the sandwiches and then fed Greyson. He then walked into his room and packed his diaper bag with some clothes and toys along with his wipes and diapers. He knew that Andy would grab the car seat out of the car and bring it inside so the babysitter could have it for the week because they never bought another one for the babysitter to have. He then went back to the kitchen and ate his sandwich and then Andy walked in behind him doing the same. 25 minutes later, they both heard the knock at the door. Greyson had been on the floor playing with a toy and Andy was in the living room while Gibson was in the bedroom. She then grabbed Greyson, strapped him in his car seat, grabbed his bag, sat beside it, and then opened the door. They then talked for a little and then Greyson was off for the week.
Once they were out of the driveway, Andy locked the door and walked upstairs and into the bedroom and saw Jack on the bed, waiting for her. "Now, we're all alone," she said, jumping onto the bed. He was already shirtless, her on top of him. He slowly then took her shirt off and threw it on the floor. Now, they made love; for the rest of the night. That next morning, Andy had her head on top of Jack's bare chest. He was running his hands through her hair and they were taking it all in. "Now, that was fun." she chuckled. "We can do this all day, you do know that right?" he said, placing a gentle kiss on her head. "We could order some Chinese and then we eat and then continue on the couch, the door is locked," she said. "Oh? You wanna be that dirty?" he laughed. "No, I'll get dirty when I want to be," she whispered, kissing his neck. He then flipped around to where he was on top of her.
They then were in bed for about another hour when she decided to put in the Chinese order. The food then arrived at the front door and then he went and grabbed it while she was in the shower. They were making love all week and they both enjoyed it. They both then went back to work; Andy was the first one at the station because she had to get some paperwork finalized. She then heard her office door open. Jack then walked in. "Well, I figured you were here," he said, closing the door and shutting the blinds. She then put down her pen and then stood up. "Well, I am your chief," she said, putting her arms around his shoulders. "You're also my wife," he said. "So, I've been thinking; I think we should consider putting Greyson in daycare," she said. "I know we were considering it when he was 6 months, but then life got crazy and we forgot about it," he said.
"We should do it now, our lives are calmed down now. We shouldn't have any trouble with it. We can have the babysitter for backup just in case." she said. "We have to find the right fit for him first," he said. "We could look off shift, we are on shift right now," she said. "We could continue what we were doing last night," he whispered. "Oh, you want to now?" she said. And then the alarm went off. "And there it goes, love you," he said, kissing her. "Love you too, now go," she said. He then walked out the door and then she went back to her paperwork since it was a medical call, and she had assigned Jack to the Aid Car with Warren. Once she was finished with all her paperwork, she had decided to go see what the others were doing in the beanery.
They by now had welcomed Jack and her both back. When she walked into the beanery, she saw Travis and Vic arguing about something and then Miller and Bishop listening in. "Ok, what are you two arguing about now?" she said. "Well, Vic here won't tell us how her date went last night," Miller said. "Now, I am getting to it," Vic said. "Then start talking!" Travis exclaimed. Andy then walked to the coffee pot, grabbed a cup, and then poured her a cup of coffee. She then sat at the table and then started listening in. Vic rambled on and on to the point that Andy decided to go back to her office after she finished her cup of coffee. Once she was back in her office, she grabbed her laptop and then started to search daycares. She was going to find a few that were relatively close to the station and their house. She wanted some that were closer to them because it would be better than driving on the other side of town.
Warren and Jack had then arrived back finally. They had been gone about an hour, with them getting the patient transported to Grey Sloan or Seattle Pres. They had already restocked before they left Grey Sloan. So they wouldn't need supplies for a while now. Warren then had to get to work on the call paperwork so Andy could put it in their call logs by the end of the shift. Andy had now been done with finding daycares that were relatively close to them. She was now debating whether to take a nap, all the paperwork had worn her out and she needed at least a cat nap before they got another call. She then went to lay down in her bunk. Once she got on the pillow, she now had to find a more comfortable position to sleep in. And then she heard her office door open and close; her blinds had still been shut from earlier. And then the door to her bunk opened, and Jack then walked in. "Are you tired?" he asked. "Yeah, damn paperwork knocks the wind out of you when you have a stack." she yawned. "Here, let me get in with you; maybe you'll go to sleep faster," he said. He then crawled on the other side of her and then she rolled to where her head was on his chest.
She loved his warmth, she also loved being his wife. Damn she loved it all, she didn't regret one thing marrying the man she loved when they first started dating; she and Jack deserved to be together, and they both knew it. "You know, I found some daycares that were closer to here and our house; I figured it would be better than way so we wouldn't have to go on the other side of town." she yawned. "We can discuss that later when we get home, now you get some rest," he whispered, brushing his hands through her hair. After about 5 minutes, she was now asleep. He then laid his head against hers and then also fell asleep. They were then asleep for another hour, Andy was usually on the lighter side of sleeping because if she had a call, she would have to wake up fast. The alarm then went off in that hour. Andy had kept her shoes on so then she got up fast. "Babe, come on let's go," she said, shaking him a little. He then woke up and then sat up. "Let's go, we have a 5 alarm fire," she said, redoing her ponytail. They both then ran out of her bunk room and office and they both got their fire coats and boots on and Andy grabbed her helmet and she and him both got in their designated vehicles.
The trucks then halted to a stop and then they all got out. Andy then hopped out, clipped the radio to her shoulder, put her helmet on, and hopped out. She then lifted the tailgate of her truck and then set everything up. She then grabbed the other table and then laid out the blueprint of the building. Jack and Warren were setting up a triage area because they both knew that there would be many victims coming out. "Montgomery and Miller, get those hoses set up!" she yelled. "Bishop, Hughes. Go in with 15," she said into her radio. They all then 10-4d and then got to work. She was the one that was in charge of the scene. "Chief, the fire is coming in hot from the south side, we need a line over here!" Bishop's voice came from her radio. "I'll send a line from 40 in," she said. The fire had been coming in hot from the north and west sides, and from what the owner had told her was that there were only victims in the south and east sides of the building. Firefighters were coming out one by one with victims that were going to the triage area.
"Chief, the fire is coming to the north side fast," Hughes said. "Everyone! Evacuate the building!" she ordered into her radio. The roof had been vented by another station by her orders. Everyone had now been out of the building. "Is everyone out?" she asked. She then looked around and saw everyone shaking their heads yes. The owner had mentioned that there were only about 15 in there. She was also surprised that Jack wasn't going to be a daredevil and go inside. He's pulled that on her a few times before and it made her mad but they both made up for it all. The building then went up in flames. She then put the blueprint away and then closed the tailgate of her truck and then walked over to where the others were. Jack and Warren had been off to Grey Sloan and she made sure she had all of her crew back. She saw Miller and Montgomery grabbing a water bottle and Bishop and Hughes sitting on the edge of the truck leaning their heads against it.
They all then went back to the station after another 30 minutes at the scene. They then jumped out of the trucks and then Andy went back to her office and started on the paperwork from the call. Everyone had then taken a shower, except for her. Her head was focused on the paperwork that she had to finish by the end of shift, hell she might go back to sleep after this. She was hoping she wouldn't get another fire call after she finished the paperwork; all she wanted to do was sleep. She put down her pen for a second and then picked up her phone. She then shot a simple text to Jack, "Come to my office when you get back." the message read. Her phone then buzzed, "Alright." his message read.
She then was having second thoughts about daycare, she knew that they both had 24-hour shifts and the daycares she found weren't 24-hour daycares. She then finished up the sentence she was writing and put her pen back in her cup. She then heard the office door open and then Jack walked in. "Wanted to see me?" he asked, closing the door, and shutting the blinds again. "You know, the daycares that I looked up were not 24-hour daycares," she said. "We don't have to do it, now I know there was something else you wanted me to come in here for," he said. "Maybe, we can continue what we were doing earlier before we got the call; or we can do the other thing you wanted to earlier," she whispered, leaning in closer to him. "Oh? You want to now?" he whispered. "I just need something to get my mind off the paperwork and that one person is you. I've been thinking about sex all day and we haven't had the chance," she said, unbuttoning his shirt.
He then picked her up and then carried her into her bunk room while kissing her. He then locked the door and then threw her onto the bed and then took off his shirt and then leaned back down to kiss her and then he took off her shirt in the process of it all. They had call after call but still were in the bed. They both had woken up that next morning shirtless and Andy on his bare chest. "Now, my mind is now happy," she said. "Now, I think we both have to go to breakfast because this is the end of our shift," he said, standing up and putting his pants back on and putting on his belt. "I think we should," she said. She then got up herself and then put her clothes in and then let Jack walk out before she did so anyone else wouldn't suspect anything out of the two of them. He then went to his locker and then grabbed his duffel and then she put her computer in her bag and then changed into her clothes, leaving the work clothes in her locker located in her bunk room. They both then walked out together hand in hand and went to their vehicle and drove off.
Later that night, they decided to wind down; Andy was putting Greyson to bed and Jack was putting dishes away in the kitchen. Andy then walked downstairs and into the kitchen. Jack had just finished putting the last dish away when she walked in. She then put her arms around him. "I think we should watch a movie before we both go to sleep," he said, turning around. "Those damn fires wore me out," she said. "Well, that is because you are the chief," he said. "I know, it's just commanding the fires that wear me out. Then I go back to the station and then do the paperwork. It's crazy being chief but I'm never getting a break." she said, yawning. "Well, you could come in the beanery now and then, you know you can. Hell, you can even go to the gym if you want," he said.
"I know that, but it's just I'm tired when I don't do anything as well," she said. He then thought, "Could she be pregnant?" "Babe, you could also be pregnant," he said. "That probably would explain me being tired and then I felt nauseous yesterday but then it subsided," she said. "You still have one test from when we found out about Greyson; go take it," he said. They both then walked upstairs and into the bedroom. He turned on the light and sat on the bed, and then she went to the bathroom. She had only been drinking water that entire week, which was the only thing that she could keep down. She then opened the bathroom door and then walked out with the test in her hand, her other hand covering the middle. She then sat next to him and then they both waited.
"You know, we're lucky there're 3 bedrooms in this house," he said. "I know that, I've been so overwhelmed lately; so I never even thought, we both said that we wanted 2-3 kids and we would be settled," she said. 3 minutes then went by, she had set a timer on her phone and then they both heard it go off. He then sighed and said, "You ready to look?" "Yes," she said, taking a deep breath. She then slowly then took her hand off in the middle. She then leaned into him. And they both looked at it. "Pregnant." the test read. "Well, looks like we're a family of four now," she said, wiping a single tear. "And, that means Greyson is going to a brother; Andy, I love you," he said, kissing her temple. "You know, we can keep this a secret from the others until the time is right and then I can request for desk duty, so they won't suspect anything out of both of us," she said.
"We can keep this a secret from the others, we kept it a secret from them before for about a month when we were dating; we can keep this and you'll probably have to talk to someone to request desk duty, and if you tell them they'll probably allow it," he said. "Well, let's do this; but I'd probably have to drink water but at the same time wear clothes to where they can't see my bump when this little one starts growing," she said. "Babe, we'll figure things out down the road; now, call Carina in the morning to schedule an appointment with her and tell her not to tell Maya. As I and you are keeping this a secret," he said.
"Now, it's getting late; but I'll probably take off whenever I get scheduled. We've been ready for this, let's do round 2," she said. "Let's do this," he said, kissing her temple again. After 30 minutes, they both then got changed and then went to bed. That next morning, he was the first one awake because Greyson woke up; then she followed soon after. She had to make the call to Carina and then call the deputy chief to put in for desk duty.
But she would make the calls at the station. She had kept the test in her dresser drawer on her side of the bed. She then got dressed and then walked downstairs, where Jack was getting ready to feed Greyson. They had developed this routine to where one would get up with Greyson and let the other sleep in. But that was only for the weekends, the weekdays they both would have to get up; since they both had to go to the station. But since now they were expecting another little one, they would have to create another routine when the baby arrived. She then walked into the kitchen and then grabbed a cup of coffee, which was only 12 ounces.
Jack had then just finished putting Greyson's eggs and bacon on his highchair table. "I'll make the call to Carina and the deputy chief when I get to the station. It'll be easier that way so we don't have to be late," she said, sipping on her coffee. "I won't mention anything, just call the deputy chief first before you call Carina because it'll be easier that way," he said, putting toast in the toaster. She had eaten avocado toast, and he ate eggs, toast, and bacon; they usually never eat at the station since the others all get their breakfast. Now, she would probably eat a salad at lunchtime; since she would be putting in for desk duty immediately for the next 9 months, she could make her salad when the others were on a call or doing the hoses on the apparatus floor.
The babysitter then walked in through the door. They both had agreed to give the babysitter a key whenever they left the house. Andy had just put her laptop in her bag when she walked in. Jack then sat down next to her and put his shoes on. "Should we tell her?" he whispered. "We can tell her, but no one else," she whispered back. "Alright," he said. "Hey Jess, me and Jack have a little secret; but don't say a word to anyone else," Andy said. "What's that?" she asked, putting her keys on the side table. "Well, Greyson here is going to be a big brother," Andy said, pointing to Greyson on the floor; who was playing with his toys. "Andy! Congrats! I won't say anything." she said, now sitting on the floor. "We just have to get a few things settled and then we'll get there," Jack said, now grabbing the car keys.
Andy had already put her shoes on before she put her laptop and charger in the bag. "Now, we better be going," she said, putting her jacket on. They then both left and then went to the station. They both then arrived and then got out and walked in. She then went into her office to change into her uniform. She had set her bag on her desk, once she was changed she then first made her call to the deputy chief. She then was on the phone for about an hour, she had got desk duty approved so then she made a call to Carina; but on her personal instead of work so no one would suspect anything.
Carina then picked up on the first ring. "Andy, what's up?" she asked. "I need to schedule an appointment with you at Grey Sloan," Andy said. "Wait, are you pregnant again?" she asked. "Yes, I am; I and Jack have decided to keep it a secret until the time is right so don't tell Maya," Andy said, tapping a pen against her fingers. "So, I can fit you in for September 16th; will that work?" she asked. "Yeah, that'll work perfectly; I can do 11:30 if you want," she said, now typing the date into her calendar. "Alright, I'll put you in for then," she said. "Thanks again Carina, just don't tell Maya," Andy said. "I won't, I'm better at keeping secrets than she is," she said. "Ok, see you then," Andy said. "Bye," she said. She then hung up and then started to work on getting things situated for the 3rd bedroom whenever they found out the gender.
She then heard her door open and saw Jack come in and close it. "So, did you get desk duty approved?" he asked. "Yes, he allowed it due to my situation and I scheduled my appointment with Carina the 16th at 11:30," she said. "You have the assignments done? Everyone is in the bay waiting," he asked. "Yes, I was doing that whenever I was on the phone with the deputy chief but then I called Carina after," she said, standing up and then grabbing the clipboard. They both then walked out and into the bay, she spotted Travis and Dean doing hoses, and Maya and Vic doing axes; Warren was probably inventorying the aid car. "Ok, listen up. I have your assignments; Warren and Montgomery you are on the aid car; everyone else you are on the truck," she said. "Another thing, as of today I am going on desk duty; I will not publicly say why," she added.
They then went back to work and she went back to her office. This pregnancy was different from her last one; she hasn't had morning sickness at all, and with Greyson she did. 2 weeks had gone by, she had finally had her appointment with Carina. Jack and the others were on a fire call, and he had usually left the keys with her; so she just took the car to Grey Sloan. 19 usually had altered between Pres and Grey Sloan so the aid car might have gone to Pres because the fire was closer to there. She then was brought into her room and then Carina walked in. "So, are you ready to see your little one?" she asked. "Been ready, Jack would have been here but he's on a fire that is closer to Pres than it is here," Andy said. She then laid back and then lifted her shirt. Carina then squirted the gel and then grabbed the doppler and then waved it around on her stomach. She then turned the screen to where Andy could see. "Well, there's your little one; heartbeat strong and everything. Measuring 6 weeks as normal. And, your due date is May 1st." Carina said.
