Jack was sitting at home with the now 7-month-old Rowan, playing with her and toys. Andy had taken Greyson with her to do a few errands, and get Jack's birthday present. Rowan had grown to be a daddy's girl, as Greyson shockingly turned into a momma's boy. Jack would be 29 next Wednesday, December 7th. Andy has had an idea of the mind of what to get him for his birthday for a while now. But, she would need a little help with it. Did he know what Andy was getting him? No, he didn't. Andy had this gift planned for the past month so far and with the help of the rest of 19, she would get it into the house; without him not home.

Andy had planned on getting him a grill, as his old one decided to give up on him about a month ago. And that was the only thing she could think of to get for him. She had got the present but didn't know where to hide it. If she hid it at home, he would've found it immediately. Miller had offered to hide it at his boathouse until she needed it; which would be next Tuesday night. Jack and Andy always went out on Tuesday nights, which gave her the perfect time to set up the grill and put it in the back and leave it there until that next morning.

The grill was in the back of her car, as she was driving to Miller's; who was waiting for her. She took a gaze in the back seat at Greyson, who had fallen asleep on the car ride over there. He will be 2 in two weeks from today. She and Jack had a plan for one or two more kids. But they couldn't decide. That was a decision to come later. She pulled to where Miller's houseboat was about 5 minutes later. Miller, Warren, and Montgomery were standing outside waiting for her when she pulled in.

She turned her car off, looked back at Greyson who was still asleep. She got out, shutting the door not trying to wake up Greyson. "I see you have a sleeping one in the back," Miller said. "He fell asleep on the way over here, but we better hurry. I told Jack I would only be gone for a couple of hours," she said.

"Since when does Jack worry so much?" Montgomery chuckled. "He doesn't, but I need to keep promises with him as we did agree to that when we got married," she remarked. "And Greyson doesn't like sleeping in the car. Which I'm surprised he's doing right now," she added. She went to the back of her car and opened the hatch and let the guys unload it. "Miller do you even know where you're going to put Jack's present?" she asked. "I'll figure it out. I can put it here out front where he can't see it for now, and probably leave it there," he said. "But won't he see it?" Montgomery interjected.

"Not exactly, he'll think it's mine but ask to help me put it together, I'll say I got it," he explained. "Do you even know how to put a grill together?" Andy interrupted. "No, but I'll say I can figure it out using the instructions, that Jack doesn't know how to follow either," he remarked. "You have a point there Dean," she laughed. "I say the only one that knows to follow instructions is you, Andy," Warren said. "That is true, better than my husband does," she smirked. The guys got the grill unloaded and put it on Miller's front porch. She talked with them before she heard Greyson stirring from the backseat.

"I guess that's my cue to go," she sighed. "See you tomorrow Andy," the guys said in sync. She waved at them and got in her car before Greyson was fully awake. He hated sleeping in the car, but that was if the car wasn't moving. If the car was moving, he was fine until he got home. She pulled away from the boathouse and made her drive back to her and Jack's house. The garage door opened once she pulled into their driveway 20 minutes later. She looked in her rearview mirror to see Greyson still asleep even if she was stopped.

But she knew she had to wake him up to go inside. She opened her door and closed it to just open the backdoor to get the sleeping Greyson out. She slowly unbuckled his seat buckles, trying to not wake him up. Because if she did, he would be crankier than anything. Her purse was hoisted over her shoulder, she had successfully out of his car seat without waking him up. She walked through the door to get into the kitchen, sitting her purse on the counter and still holding the sleeping Greyson.

When she walked into the living room, she saw Jack laying on the floor with Rowan; who was asleep and she smiled at the fact that Jack had fallen asleep with her. She carried Greyson into his room upstairs and turned his sound machine on, walked out the door, and closed it quietly. When she walked back downstairs, Jack was starting to wake up. Rowan was still asleep.

She pulled a bottle of water out of the fridge and took a drink of it. She was thinking at the fact that she couldn't believe she was keeping Jack's present a surprise from him as he always hated surprises. She had grown a bond with Jack, and she loved it. She loved calling Jack her husband. 2 kids, a house, and probably a pet coming later down the road. They hadn't got a dog yet since Greyson and Rowan were still little.

But they were thinking about it though. But Greyson would be 2 next week, and Rowan would turn a year in 5 months. She had a family, with a man that she wanted to have a family with. Ever since her first day, she had always pictured herself being with Jack. And she got that wish, she was happier with Jack than she was with Robert 3 years prior. She wanted kids, and Robert didn't. That's why she left him and found Jack; working in the same place she was. Something that they both loved. She didn't know where Robert went after she broke up with him, she didn't care. She had got that text from him 7 months ago, 2 days after Rowan was born. And since then he hasn't texted her, or even tried to call her. She was glad that he didn't, because he didn't know where she lived now in Seattle.

He probably still thought that she lived in the apartment that she had previously with Jack. When they were still dating. But now they weren't, and they added 2 kids in. So they had to find a house. A house that was big enough for the 4 of them. She took a glance at Rowan, who was starting to get hair. The one thing about their 2 kids was that Greyson was almost a spitting image of Jack, and Rowan was a spitting image of her. But they had different personalities. She took a glance at Jack, who wasn't fully awake yet.

She didn't want to wake him up, he looked peaceful. The house was quiet, which is what she needed for right now. She didn't know what she was going to do. She looked at the time, it was almost 10:00 am. She had left at 8:00. She could get dinner going in the CrockPot. And that she did. She decided on slow-cooking chicken breasts, with green beans and carrots as aside. Jack had woken up finally. "Did you fall asleep after Rowan went to sleep?" she chuckled. "Yeah, I guess I did," he yawned. "Maybe we can get Jess to watch the kids tomorrow night, while we go on a date," she mentioned. "We could," he said. "But we do need to talk about when we're going to try for a 3rd," she referenced.

"Rowan and Grey are only a year, 4 months, and 12 days apart. We have to use logic this time and wait until at least Rowan's a year and a half," he said. "That's what I was thinking, wait until she's a year and a half," she responded. "I've got dinner in the crockpot. It'll be ready around 4:00 or so give or take," she added. "We could get some laundry done, how long has little man been down?" he asked. She looked at her watch, "Give or take 30 minutes, he'll be down for maybe 2 more hours," she said. "Rowan's been down for 35, I fell asleep 5 minutes after she did," he mentioned.

"But we will talk to Jess later to see if she could watch the kids tomorrow night for us while we go out," she added. They couldn't go out last night due to a shift. She had shut everyone down today because she knew that they needed a break. She could see it. She had next Tuesday planned out completely. They would go on shift, shut down everyone early; at about 3:00, she and Jack would go home for a couple of hours. Jess would come over at 5:00, she and Jack would leave maybe 10 minutes later.

From there, they would go to dinner; maybe a movie, and for a drink afterward. This would give everyone plenty of time to get Jack's birthday present over into their backyard. And it would sit there until that next morning; Jack's birthday. It would be placed where his old one sat, which went out when they put in the new one. So it never moved, it stayed in the same spot. But his old grill worked, but not as good as it used to be. So he still used it from time to time. But it was the cold Seattle weather, he couldn't.

It had slowly cooked foods when he did grill on it about a couple of months ago. "What time are we leaving?" he asked. "Probably the same time we usually do: 5:10," she answered, taking a drink of her water. "I'm going to take a shower, I love you," he said, coming over to her side and kissing her. "Love you too," she said. She watched him walk upstairs. She walked to the back of the couch and looked at Rowan; who was peacefully asleep with the bouncer rocking her.

She heard a soft knock coming from the door, not loud because she knew who the person was. She opened the door and saw Bishop standing there. "Hey Maya, what's up?" she asked, stepping outside leaving the door cracked open a bit in case Rowan woke up. "Hey, I've been meaning to talk to you about this. Since you and Jack are going out for his birthday next Tuesday, do you think we can throw a party that Monday at the station?" she asked. "Yeah, I mean we can. But are you all going to arrive early so you can set it up?" Andy wondered. "Yeah, I've already talked to the guys and Vic and they're in. So it's a go," she said.

"So you all will get there an hour early correct?" Andy remarked. "Correct, we'll set up the commons area by the time you two get there at 8:00. If Jack tries to get there early, try to distract him in your office, if you know what I mean," she winked. "Yes, Maya. I know what you mean," she chuckled. "Jack can't hear us right?" Maya remarked. "No, he's upstairs taking a shower. Both kids are asleep, so all we have right now is quiet," she said.

Maya looked at her watch, "I better get going. Carina and I have an appointment with the sperm donor. I figured I would stop and tell you," she said. "Thanks for doing that. See you tomorrow Maya," Andy said. She waved as Maya got in her car and drove off. She walked back inside to Jack walking back downstairs. "Who was that?" he asked. "It was Maya, she wanted to talk to me about something she could do Monday. I allowed it," she said. "What can she do?" he wondered, walking into the kitchen.

"About using it for a party for Carina," she lied. "When is she doing it?" he asked, leaning against the counter. "In the middle of the shift," she lied once again. "I'm surprised she's not setting it up before shift," he breathed. "Because she's doing the party after shift," she lied again. "Oh," was all he said.

She heard a grunt coming from Rowan. She had been asleep an hour. "Well, our peace suddenly comes to an end," she answered. She went over to the couch to see Rowan just now waking up. "I guess someone had a nice nap," she chuckled as Rowan was grunting. She lifted her into her arms. Jack watched her, watched Andy cradle her daughter in her arms.

He smiled at the picture, they were a family of 4. Living happily. "And, it looks like someone's a hungry one," he said, walking over to where Andy was with Rowan. "Let's see, shall we have apples and bananas today or chicken and potatoes?" she said as she was walking into the kitchen to put Rowan in her highchair. He looked in the cabinet to see what baby foods they had.

"It looks like we have chicken and potatoes for lunch today," he said, reaching for the baby food. Rowan was smacking her high chair as Andy was putting her bib on. They both chuckled at Rowan getting excited about food. She loved her baby foods, which was the opposite of Greyson when he was about her age. Andy sat there and fed her while he folded the laundry and put it away upstairs. It had been 6 months since his all of a sudden heart attack, and he was being careful since.

He heard a noise coming from Greyson's room, which signaled him that he was waking up. And he and she both had thought he would be asleep longer, but he wasn't. He opened the door and was welcomed by Greyson. They had transferred him to a big boy bed after he had learned how to escape from his crib at just a year and a half. "Hey buddy, did you have a nice nap?" he asked. He shook his head yes.

"Mommy's downstairs with your sister, you want to go down there with her?" he asked, picking Grey up. "Hungry," was all he said. Jack smiled and said, "I guess that's a yes," as he was putting him down. "Come on bud. Dad has to finish laundry up here but you can go down with your mom and sister," he said, opening the gate for Grey to go down. He stood there as Grey took the stairs carefully. He smiled when he heard Andy seeing Grey down there. He went back to the laundry, got another load in, and put all the other clothes away.

He started the vacuum and did the hallways and all of the bedrooms. The upstairs was almost clean, but all he had to do was clean the bathroom and put new sheets on the beds. He and Andy always divided the chores they had to do. They had a system. Sometimes he did upstairs, sometimes she did the downstairs. They flipped around every week. It worked out great for them. When Jess was usually over here with the kids, she would help too.

Grey loved Jess, so did Rowan. Grey had thought of her as his big sister. When she was his nanny, but Grey didn't care. Jess had thought the same as well, she would always either take Rowan or Grey for a day out or both of them when Jack and Andy were off for the day. He finished with the vacuuming 30 minutes later before he waltzed back downstairs to Andy eating some lunch. It was noon now.

He had realized that today he had to go to Grey Sloan for a 6-month follow-up with Pierce, which was at 1:30. "Damn it, I forgot I had that today." He muttered under his breath as he was checking the time. "What?" she said, looking up at him. "My 6-month follow-up with Pierce at Grey-Sloan," he said. "Didn't they call you last week to confirm it?" she wondered. "They did but then we got busy on shift, so it slipped my mind," he sighed. "It takes 20, maybe 25 minutes to get to Grey-Sloan without traffic," she said. "I finished cleaning upstairs, I think I should leave now," he said, picking up his jacket from where it was on the edge of the couch.

"Be careful on that freeway please, idiots don't pay attention while they're driving," she pleaded, kissing him. "I will love you," he said. He picked up his keys to his truck, put his shoes on, and walked out the door. He started his engine and drove towards the freeway. "Damn traffic," he muttered as he had been in traffic for 15 minutes now. He didn't see the speeding semi coming up behind him. The last thing he saw was a crushed truck he had before his world turned black.
