Chapter 2 is here, let's get started.
Station 51:
Ellie and Sylvie walked out of the Station House then Ellie stopped when she saw who her visitor was: it was Tim McGee! Sylvie could see that Ellie was frozen: it was as if she had just seen a ghost.
"Ellie, are you okay?" Sylvie asked and Ellie slowly nodded, she shook her head then rubbed her eyes. "Do you know him?" She asked then Ellie turned and looked at her friend.
"Sylvie, could you excuse me for a while?" Ellie asked and Sylvie nodded then she watched as Ellie walked over to McGee and they started talking. While Sylvie was watching them, she didn't notice Matt Casey walking over.
"Is everything okay?" Matt asked as he stood next to Sylvie but she shrugged her shoulders as she wasn't sure. "That's the guy from the house injury we were at earlier." Matt remembered and Sylvie nodded
"It's a friend from her past, back when she was working with NCIS." Sylvie answered and Matt was surprised. "Matt, I was wondering if we could talk later." Sylvie asked and Matt nodded, then he smiled.
"Of course, Sylvie." Casey then walked off to finish some paperwork while Sylvie stayed nearby in case Ellie needed a friend.
A few minutes later, Tim got into the car then drove off as Ellie walked over to Sylvie, the pair then walked over to the ambulance and sat on the floor.
"Wanna talk about what that guy wanted?" Sylvie asked but Ellie shook her head. "Well, if you don't wanna talk about him, maybe you would be up to helping me tell Matt something?" Sylvie wondered and Ellie smiled then looked at her friend.
"Okay then. But first, I need some coffee." Ellie told her and Sylvie nodded, the pair got up then headed off to get coffee. "And I promise to tell more about my NCIS past but later. Let's just focus on you getting with Matt, shall we?" Ellie suggested and Sylvie chuckled as she liked the idea.
Molly's:
Later that day, Tim and Delilah were in the bar drinking and talking about Bishop: they had found out that Ellie had moved to Chicago and was now working as an EMT for the Chicago Fire Department.
"I wonder how Ellie got that job?" Delilah wondered and Tim nodded. He was about to talk when the bar front door opened then a small group of the firefighters from Firehouse 51. They walked over to the bar and ordered their drinks then Tim and Delilah noticed that Ellie was with them: she was wearing pale blue jeans, a white t-shirt, black heels and a black leather jacket.
"Hey Ellie!" Tim called over but Ellie didn't answer, she was still chatting to two of her friends. "Do you think we've done something to upset her?" Tim asked his wife and Delilah shook her head.
"She's probably still trying to put her life together," Delilah suggested then they looked over to see Ellie laughing with her friends. Captain Casey walked over to Tim and Delilah and smiled at them. "Hello again, Captain. Thank you again for saving my cousin's husband." Delilah thanked and the Captain nodded.
"Name's Matthew but my friends call me Matt." Matt introduced himself then McGee moved over a bit and Matt sat down with them. "You two know Bishop?" Matt asked curiously and the couple nodded.
"Ellie used to work at NCIS with us, how is she?" Tim explained and Matt nodded as he looked over, Ellie was sat at the bar with Brett and a woman with black curly coily hair. "Who are the two women with Ellie?" Tim asked out of curiosity and Matt smiled.
"The blonde is our other EMT, Sylvie Brett. And the other woman, with the black curly hair, that's Stella Kidd." Matt told them and the couple nodded. "Hey Severide! Come over here!" Matt shouted over then a tall man with short black hair walked over: he was wearing black jeans, black boots, a grey t-shirt and a black leather jacket.
"Are you a friend of Eleanor?" Delilah asked and Severide nodded with a smile. "I'm Delilah Fielding McGee. And this is my husband, Timothy McGee." Delilah introduced then she shook hands with Severide, then he shook Tim's hand.
"Kelly Severide. And yes, Bishop is a friend. She's also a great EMT." Severide complimented and that made both Tim and Delilah smile. "What brings you two here from DC?" Kelly asked as he and Matt sat down with Tim and Delilah.
"We came to see my cousin and her husband. Thanks again for saving him." Delilah thanked and Matt smiled. "How has Ellie been since she joined you?" Delilah asked out of curiosity.
"She's been great. She works hard and every other time, she's very happy and smiles a lot." Severide told them as they looked over to see Ellie laughing with Sylvie and Stella. "Why do you ask?" Kelly asked as he and Matt were concerned about why Delilah and Tim wanted to know about their EMT.
"Did she tell you about why she left NCIS?" Tim asked and the firefighters shook their heads. "Her boyfriend, Qasim Naasir, died after being shot several times. It was a targeted attack, Ellie wanted to leave to forget everything and start again, we didn't know that she came here." Tim told them then Matt and Kelly looked to see that Ellie was still smiling.
"How long did this happen?" Matt asked as he looked away from Ellie and looked back at Tim and Delilah.
"Five months ago. Ellie decided to leave NCIS but then she left a month later." Tim explained to them. Matt and Kelly still couldn't believe that Ellie had gone down a heartbreaking path but now, she was smiling and having fun with her friends.
"We promise to look out for her," Matt promised them and Tim smiled. "If you want, come by Firehouse 51 tomorrow. We might be around, unless we're called out." Matt told them and the pair nodded.
Meanwhile by the bar, Ellie was chatting with Sylvie and Stella; they were talking about how Sylvie had feelings for Matt but hadn't said anything. They were drinking wine when Ellie looked behind her to see Matt and Kelly talking to Tim and Delilah, she put her glass down and picked up her jacket.
"Is everything okay, Ellie?" Stella asked but Ellie didn't answer, she put her jacket on then walked out of Molly's. "Do you think she left because of them?" Stella asked Sylvie as they both looked at Tim and Delilah.
"Ellie's keeping her NCIS past a secret, even from me." Sylvie told her friend which surprised Stella. Matt and Kelly then walked over and sat with Sylvie while Stella was getting the bottle of wine. "What did they want to talk about?" Sylvie asked as she looked at Matt.
"They told us about Ellie's past," Matt told them then he took a slip from his beer. "She wanted to get away from Washington and NCIS." He added which made Sylvie worried about her friend.
Next morning:
Sylvie and Stella walked up to Firehouse 51 and they were surprised to see Ellie with Ambulance 61, she was washing the windshield. Stella walked off to the kitchen while Sylvie headed over to her partner.
"Ellie, are you okay? What happened last night?" Sylvie asked as she stood behind her friend but Ellie didn't answer. "Ellie? You know you can talk to me." Sylvie told her and that made Ellie put the sponge into the bucket of soapy water.
"When I joined NCIS, my boss there gave me several rules to follow and one stuck with me." Ellie started and she and Sylvie sat on the floor along the side of Ambulance 61. "The one rule was when the jobs done, walk away." Ellie told Sylvie the rule.
"And when you left NCIS, that was you walking away from the job?" Sylvie asked and Ellie nodded.
"I wanted to move on: make a fresh start and do something where I can make a difference." Ellie explained with a small smile. "I did get an offer from CPD to join Intelligence and work with Voight's team, but I wanted to do something else." Ellie smiled then the pair chuckled.
"Do you miss your friends from NCIS?" Sylvie asked and Ellie smiled a little then she nodded.
"I keep in touch with some of them but they already left NCIS." Ellie explained as she took out her phone and loaded up a photo of Ellie and another woman hugging. "This is me and a friend from NCIS but she left. Her name's Abigail Sciuto but she prefers to be called Abby." Sylvie smiled as Ellie swiped her phone screen to the left and showed another photo. "That is Anthony Dinozzo Jr; a great friend. He left to take care of his daughter and I heard he's with his girlfriend, who we thought was dead." Ellie explained which confused Sylvie. "It's complicated." Ellie told her and Sylvie nodded.
"Do any of your old friends from NCIS live in Chicago?" Sylvie asked as she was curious, she wanted to know if Ellie had any friends she wanted to see.
"Tony's living in Paris with his daughter, Tali. And his girlfriend, Ziva." Ellie started then she looked down at her phone; the photo of her and Abby was on the screen. "And Abby, I last heard she was in Chicago but that was a few weeks ago. She might have gone somewhere else by now." Ellie guessed. Sylvie moved closer to her friend then wrapped her arm around Ellie.
"You got me and all of Firehouse 51 to call your friends." Sylvie told her and that made Ellie smile. "Now, let's talk about something else. Like me needing your help to tell Matt how I feel about him." Sylvie smiled and Ellie chuckled.
"Okay then. Let's go and start planning Operation: Romantic Confession." Ellie joked and it made both ladies laugh. The pair got up then headed up to the kitchen area to start thinking of ways for Sylvie to talk to Matt about her feelings.
An hour later:
The CFD were called to a fire at East 33rd Boulevard. Truck 81 parked up with Squad 3 and Ambulance 61 close behind, finally Battalion 25 arrived. In Ambulance 61, Sylvie and Ellie were focusing on getting their gear until Ellie saw Tim and Delilah running over.
"What are you two doing here?" Ellie asked as she looked at Tim then Delilah. "Is there anything we need to know?" Ellie asked them as she knew that there was a reason they were at the scene.
"Abby lives there. Delilah and I came over to visit her but the house was on fire!"Tim explained and now, Ellie was so surprised that she almost lost her balance.
"Chief! We've got a possible ID on who it is; she's a former NCIS agent from DC!" Ellie called over which surprised Chief Boden, he walked over to the Paramedics.
"Are you sure, Bishop?"Chief Boden checked as he wanted to be sure.
"I'm NCIS Special Agent McGee. My friend, Abigail Scuito, asked me and my wife to meet her to talk." McGee informed the Chief. "When we arrived, the house was on fire." Tim informed the Chief and Boden nodded.
"Severide! Casey!" Boden called over then both Kelly and Matt ran over. "We believe that a former agent and friend of Bishop's is in that house. Two upstairs and two downstairs." Boden told them and the pair nodded then ran over to their trucks: Severide took Stella to search upstairs while Casey took Herrmann to check downstairs. While the rest of Engine and Squad were keeping bystanders back, the Paramedics were getting ready to treat the burn victim.
"CHIEF! We've got someone!" Casey shouted over the comms which made Ellie feel nervous; she hoped that Abby was alright. Moments later, Herrmann came out of the house followed by Casey who was carrying an unconscious woman. Ellie and Sylvie rolled the gurney over then Matt laid the unconscious woman on it, Ellie's hands covered her mouth as she recognised the woman's face.
"Oh my god! It's Abby!" Ellie told Sylvie then the pair got to work: Ellie checked for a pulse while Sylvie started to intubate. "She's got a pulse but it's weak." Ellie notified her partner as Sylvie inserted the tube down Abby's throat.
"Ellie, grab the Bag-Valve Mask." Sylvie asked as she checked to make sure the tube was steady. Ellie grabbed the Bag-Valve Mask then handed it to Sylvie, she attached it to the tube then started to slowly pump it while Ellie was checking Abby's vitals.
"She's got a steady pulse." Ellie notified the group then she looked at Tim and Delilah. "We're taking her to Med, you can follow us." Ellie told them as Sylvie pushed the unconscious Abby into the back of the Ambulance. While Tim and Delilah got into their car, Ellie climbed into the back of Ambulance 61 as Sylvie got into the driver's seat.
This is the end of chapter 2 and things are heating up now. Abby Scuito was caught in a fire, was it an accident or was it a targeted attack? How will things go in chapter 3?
Sorry for the long delay as I've been busy but I'll be trying to work more on this. See you all next time.
