The next day, Harriet was driven to school with Emilia and Elvin by her Uncle Frank. She was so excited to tell her two best friends about her father's engagement. About the fact that Olivia would soon be her mother.

Harriet had felt for a while that Olivia was like a mother to her. It was hard losing her own mother three years ago in the manner that she had, and it still hurt knowing her mother had left her, but she had Olivia - Livvy. And soon 'Livvy' would become her mom.

When Frank parked in the school parking lot, the three kids jumped out and then he got out after them, walking the kids up to the school gate. The kids attended a private Christian school.

Frank surveyed the area, keeping his head on a swivel, looking out for Elias Sr - Ebba's ex-husband. Frank didn't see Elias Sr, but still made sure the kids were safely inside the school's courtyard before turning around and heading back to his car.

Harriet walked into her fourth grade classroom, while Emilia and Elvin strolled into a classroom just across the hall - the third grade.

Running over to her desk, Harriet sat down. The desks were arranged in a square - four desks to each arrangement. She was luckily sitting next to her two best friends - Erika Jenkins and Wyla Higgins. The other person in the seating arrangement was a boy, but he hadn't arrived yet.

"Erika, Wyla, guess what." Harriet said

"What?" They asked her

"My daddy's getting married."

"What if your mom comes back?" Erika wondered

Harriet's face fell. She hadn't thought about that.

"Who's your dad marrying?" Wyla asked

"Olivia. Livvy's gonna be my mom."

Unlike Erika, who's religiously conservative parents hadn't allowed it, Wyla had been out to Mount Horeb - numerous times. She knew a lot of the people that lived there. She loved them too.

Wyla's parents were Fundamentalist Mormons so they somewhat understood the beliefs of Frank and his people. Like Frank, Wyla's dad had more then one wife, but not near as many as Frank.

With having more than one mom and multiple siblings, Wyla is a lot like Frank's children. Her dad - Carsten has three wives, and he has a total of fifteen children. Wyla's in the middle.

Meanwhile with Sammi and Alejandra, in the freshman classroom, at the high school across the street. The two sisters - adoptive sisters - were talking with some of their friends - Ruth Johnson , Bianca Jenkins and Iris Higgins.

"And you know, Fiona's just heartbroken that mom left again." Sammi said, "I mean it's terrible, but I know how mom is. I've been dealing with it all my life. It's hard, but I'm old enough to deal with it. To know that it's not personal. Fiona's only four."

Ruth sighed, "Yeah. It's terrible."

One of the kids of one of the bigoted parents strolled by, making a rude remark.

"Hey Sammi, which mommy are you talking about?" He asked, "How many mothers do you have? Is it twelve now?"

"Shut up, Ambrose. Leave her alone." Alejandra yelled, speaking before Sammi could, all while holding her back.

It wasn't that Sammi needed defending, but Alejandra was afraid of what her sister might do or say if she hadn't been holding her.

"Aww...boo-hoo." Ambrose Belford mocked, "Sammi needs her sister to protect her."

Sammi started struggling in Alejandra's grasp, "Let me at him, Ale, let me at him."

"Dude! I'd run away before she gets loose." Iris warned him

Sammi may not know her biological mother, but she was a lot like her. She was a spitfire. She definitely defended herself and her family. She'd been known to get in trouble for a fight or two. Only in self defense though. She would never be the one to start a fight. It's like Abuela always says, 'A lady should never start a fight, but she can finish one'.

'Abuela' is 62 year old Rosa Sofia Morillo. She's the mother of Juliana. Pretty much all the kids in Mount Horeb call her Abuela.

While still struggling in Alejandra's grasp, Sammi growled at Ambrose, who then ran away scared.

"You have got to stop doing that." Bianca told Sammi, "Stop growling at people. It makes you seem feral. That's what gives people the wrong impression about your family."

Sammi shook her head, "No, it's the stigma and stereotypes that have been linked to cults and the concept of plural marriage. Plus the lies that the government is telling about David Koresh after the Waco siege isn't helping either."

Ruth, Iris and Bianca all gave heavy sighs as they nodded in agreement with Sammi.

Even though the school was Christian - just like the elementary and middle school, most people still weren't very perceptive to Frank's religion and lifestyle. Well, it was mostly the parents and the school faculty, but there were some kids who were just like their parents.

Back at Mount Horeb, Frank returned to spend some time with Gwendolyn. She'd been kind of whiny lately and he knew his 'Princess' was needing some love.

Frank surprised her, hugging her from behind and presenting a bouquet of flowers, "Hey Princess."

Gwendolyn smiled as she grabbed hold of his arms, catching a whiff of the flowers, before turning around to face her husband, her lips meeting with his in a kiss.

"Mhm.." She hummed, "What was that for?"

"Just to tell you I love you." Frank told her

She smiled, "Well, thank you. I needed that. And I love you too."

"Sorry if I've kind of been neglecting you." He apologised

"And I'm sorry if I've been kind of whiny. It probably hasn't escaped your attention that I don't really like sharing." She admitted

Frank shook his head, "No. It hasn't, but I love you regardless."

It wasn't really Gwendolyn's fault that she didn't like to share or acted needy and insecure. She came from a really broken family.

Gwendolyn had a very difficult childhood. Her parents divorced when she was five. She was bounced back and forth between two houses, but neither parent was really a parent. Her parents were emotionally distant, only meeting her physical needs, and as an only child Gwendolyn felt very unloved. She ran away when she was fourteen and made her own family - a band of misfits - a group of four, but Gwendolyn still hadn't found her happiness.

In 1984, at the age of sixteen, she left her little group and began searching for something more. For a deeper purpose in life. And after a few months, Gwendolyn found her way to Mount Horeb. That was where she found true happiness and love. Then on the happiest day of her life, in November of 1988, she became Frank's wife.

Though Gwendolyn's life was full of hardships and trials, she has hope for a bright future and that's all because of Frank - her savior and her husband.
