A/N

Chapter 9 is here! This is perhaps my most favorite chapter by far. Thanks for the reviews and the fav's and follows on this wee lil book of mine. Were at 69 follows.

I may be a new breed but I find that funny.

This chapter is most likely going to be a large turning point in the book. Am I the only one who remembers Cinder being injured and without aura, somewhere after her battle with Raven?

Anyways this chapter will push this book into the 30k word threshold. Which is still insane to me.

I honestly didn't think I could write this much. Being more of an athletic person who despises school work.

Anyway, let's get to that book shall we?

P.s. To the dude who's been leaving reviews on all my chapters. I'm giving you a fucking cookie. You and all the others who read this book help me tremendously in my life. Whether it be making me smile or just improving my mood. Much love as always.

LL14, outta this Bitch!

The rumbling of thunder in the distance awoke me with a startle. I was placed on a bed. Yang was sleeping on the floor. I duly noted. She was fast asleep with her robo arm resting on the other side of her pillow.

I genuinely wondered if it had a vibrate function. I didn't bother checking as I made my way through the door and into the hallway. Did I mention I still had my gear on?

I must've passed out. The memories of yesterday confirmed so. Thunder rumbled in this distance, as if mocking me. 'Thunder, wait..' A devilish grin slipped across my face.

'Cinder' My priorities changed. No longer was I getting food. I was getting revenge. I walked right by Qrow. who was blearily standing in a doorway. I never noticed my surrogate father.

I was at the door, and out into the street in straight milliseconds. Since I was well rested, albite seriously famished.

I took off in an aura infused sprint. The storm looked to be about an hour out. Which means I have barely any time to find Salem's Puppet. I needed to end her before she became a problem. Atlas cannot fall.

Qrow's bootcamp helped me tremendously in locating a certain rat. As the rain started to fall I heard a shrill scream. I unsheathed United and dashed along the riverbank.

All while Qrow watched from the sidelines. Being Ozpin's scout I never noticed him.

He was very good at tailing people.

The sight that greeted me a few seconds later. Ignited a deep hate in my soul. The woman I wanted to save already was on the ground in a rapidly growing puddle of her own life fluids. She was already stripped of her dress/cloak.

Cinder whose eye was glowing a vibrant orange snapped to me. Cinder was half dressed in the lady's clothing. The eyeful of supple breasts and toned stomach didn't faze me. Rule 34 artists be damned.

I was an Air Force vet. The only sword that was raised was Untied and my cold fury. Cinder will die tonight.

I slid under the fireball. 'How could I forget the maiden BS?!'

Cinder gaped much like a fish at my swift dodge. She knew this fight may cost her. Her life.

An animalistic desire to live made the flames around her eye burn brighter. I closed the gap within A few paces.

A wall of ice greeted me. I slid in the mud as the sky flashed with lighting. Cinder was upon me from the perch in a flash. The grim arm slashed across my stomach completely by passing my aura.

My sword went through the center of her hand and right through her forearm. "ArrGH. DIE!" Cinder then kicked me in the shoulder. With or without aura it still sends me flying. While in my acrobatic tumble I drew the .45 and took pot shots at the enraged and injured maiden.

One passed through her thigh. I landed on my feet and twisted out of the way of the incoming grim hand.

Lighting struck my back as I turned. "Ack" I spasmed. Just in time Qrow. came in with Harbinger and blocked Cinder's High kick aimed for my temple. Qrow then blocked ice spikes with a graceful twirl.

I shot the .45 between his legs. Bingo. Three more rounds tore through the power hungry woman's stomach.

A wide spread of fire was the retaliation. Qrow used Harbinger as a makeshift shield. While I used my aura to jump over him. With a whirr Qrow and I's weapons Changed to the infamous forms of death.

He went low while I went high. Cinder chose Ice for me and lighting for Qrow. All while she tripped on a rock. 'Thanks Mr. Misfortune'

Qrow morphed into a bird to dodge while I simply Faded from sight. This next clash would mark who would live to tell the tail.

Both the disparate attacks missed Cinder's targets. Feathers blanketed the muddy ground as Qrow morphed back. While I flanked and appeared by Cinders side mid swing. The maiden could only scream in fury.

Qrow's Harbinger separated Cinder at her waist, while United lopped her head off at her nose. In a disgusting display of death. Cinder fell into the mud with a wet plop. Qrow and I's blades dripped red. Then the rain came down.

Thick sheets of water rained down on us. I opened my eyes and looked at Qrow. I felt the hot rings of Blue flames licking at my face and evaporating the rain.

Qrow looked like he was going to be sick. The regret was plain as day. He didn't want me to become a maiden. I didn't want to be a maiden. The thought didn't cross my mind. Not even as I struck down Cinder.

I just wanted revenge. For Ruby, For Pyrrha, For Jaune and for myself. I knew that my time in this world just got more dangerous. Though Salem probably wanted my head, Cause, well. I reduced her castle of fun to rubble.

Maybe if I was lucky, Watts was killed during that. I looked to Qrow once again. "Now we have a fighting chance in hell" He smiled wryly at that. "We just might, kid. We just might"

I rolled over Cinder's corpse with my foot. "Get an eyeful old man. Might be the only pair of tits you'll see in a long time" I cringed in disgust. While Qrow looked away. "Bad joke"

Cinder was then rolled back to her original position. Face down. Lets not desecrate someone's corpse.

"Qrow, she killed that woman" Jerking my head to the now long cold corpse a few paces away. "I know, Blueberry"

He sighed. And made his way over. I followed. Qrow kneeled down and closed her eyes. While I kept watch. I absentmindedly reloaded my .45. Another person I couldn't save. "You can't save everyone"

'Mind reader' I shrugged. "I know" Qrow patted my shoulder as he walked by. Chugging his flask. "We'er Huntsman, We can only save so many"

His tone turned dark on the last few words. "I saved Summer. From the hell hole she was in" Qrow abruptly stopped. Causing me to run into him. "Don't Joke like that"

I plucked the flask from his hand. As I looked up. Pure truth on my features. "She's at home with Tai-"

"NO!" I flinched back. Spilling some of the contents from the flask. Qrow immediately looked regretful.

I was cowering. My scars burned. "I-I brought her home. W-We Esc-aped" Qrow scooped me up in a fatherly hug. I almost fought him. "Kid, I'm sorry. It's hard to believe." I didn't bawl on his shoulders, I just shook as my mind was clouded by loud shouts and mad cackling.

"Oh. no" I heard him mutter. My eyes were still alit with the maidens' flames. I started scratching at the scar on my face. It itches terribly. My hands were enveloped in bigger ones and pulled from my face. My aura was visible around my head because of the scratching.

Qrow was able to slowly guide me out of my Ptsd induced lock up. I was waiting for one to surface. Though this one was newer and not old.

Then and there I declared that Qrow would not die, by any means necessary.

Qrow was showing me more and more why he was my correct choice in harassing. when I came to Remnant so long ago.

—-

Nora made me want to strangle babies. She wouldn't shut up, not even for a second. My eyebrow twitched irritably as the pancake loving maniac bounced from wall to wall in the kitchen.

Ren, the silent bastion he always is, stood calmly while cooking breakfast with a recovering Weiss. Who knew Mrs. hoitytoity rich girl could cook? Ruby was clinging to my side. Yang was fiddling with her arm.

Yang loved my idea of adding 'Pound Town' onto the arm. I was currently attempting to do maintenance on my weapon. Nora was now upside down on a chandelier. My brow twitched again.

'Of all the Voodoo' I watched Nora land next to Ren. 'That, THING. Is the worst'

Jaune watched me scrub United's blade while watching his teammate. He shuddered at the look in my eye as my bangs hid the other one from him. Qrow was currently trying to get him to drink from his flask.

Oscar, Ozpin. Shouta. Whatever the fuck you want to call him was. Looking between me, Jaune, Nora and Qrow. He looked terrified and rightfully so.

With a loud thud Nora landed on the table. Knocking glasses and silverware every which way. Faster than Ruby herself I had United leveled under her chin and I growled. "Do It again, rat." Weiss had a glyph activated under Nora's spot next to Ren.

'The pink abomination' Nora just giggled and thumbed the edge of United. Nora noticed the rust colored flecks on my blade and stopped thumbing it slightly. "You look strong!" What?

I pulled United away and rested it on the table and slouched back into my seat. Yang had a hand covering her mouth in mirth. I glared at her too. Nora disappeared and was next to Ren. Ruby began to pick up the cups and silverware.

I was tired. Last night was something else. My body was angry at me for sleeping so well and then choosing not to sleep again. My waist was bandaged up and was just a dull pain.

It was just another echo of the many injuries I have. All of which are being drowned in a libreal amount of pain meds. Courtesy on Qrow's less than legal ways of receiving medical grade painkillers.

He's worse than me at this rate. I already had a sizable record from my time in Atlas. I wasn't lying when I said the Happy Huntresses were pretty much thugs.

Arson. Battery. Assault on a police officer. Petty theft. Grand Theft Auto. Breaking and entering.

To name a few. Oh don't forget. Organized Crime.

I snickered silently. I've given Ironwood a pretty large headache. Enough so the Ace ops wanted my ass.

His semblance was probably forcing him to hyperfixate on me. My tail swished playfully behind me.

Blake eyed it from the stairs she was resting on. Her bow was still on. But she slowly removed it and dumped it in the garbage can. no one noticed her do this.

We all ate and slowly started rounding up our stuff. We still needed to head to Argus. I excused myself and left to collect my A10. I would probably have to run an escort for the train. UNfortunately It'll probably end up being derailed. Even with my efforts.

I couldn't exactly swat grim off it with either of my weapons mounted on the jet. The JDAM would split the train in half. And the main gun would reduce it to swiss cheese.

I still had superior weapons by far. And the JDAM was specifically designed to be a tank killer. The train really wouldn't stand a chance.

And I may be insane but I wouldn't dare ram the grim off the train.

—-

I was starting the A10 up. And a thought crossed my mind. 'Ruby had Jinn Right?' I shrugged as the A10 started with a whine. 'Or was it Binn?' She had the lamp with her I believe. 'I hope that they haven't gotten suspicious with me. Qrow wanted to question how I knew what a Maiden was' I could see it in his eyes.

Ozpin, who was controlling Oscar at the time, looked to Qrow in suspicion.

I knew too much. And both of them knew. And as I was leaving to grab my jet Ozpin wouldn't stop questioning the jet, its tech. Or the fact. That I took him being reincarnated too well.

Not to mention Mammy Salami. Knew I was from earth. I had a sneaking suspicion she and her dark Voodoo was the reason I was in this world to begin with.

And the Russians in the fun room too. My spine shivered. I get the feeling I'm in deep shit.

I clasped my hands together. "Please ask Binn about the creepy wizard, and not me" I sarcastically bowed in my seat. "Oh, shitty gods. Let them question. Ozzy" I felt the A10 tremble as it started down the path.

A beowulf in a clearing miles away snorted in irritation. And a tree on a small remote island creaked dangerously.

I did bad. I just didn't know it yet. My grandfather on earth rolled in his grave. And I sneezed. "Shit" I rubbed my nose.

I continued down the path at a solid 60 Mph. Qrow and the Crew should be Waiting for me at the bottom of the hill.

—-

And they were just in the spot where I assumed they'd be. Qrow was still trying to get Jaune to take a drink of his flask.

Yang was giving Ruby a noogie. Weiss was throwing her arms up in agitation while Blake was smirking smugly at the Schnees plight.

My faunus eyes helped me in seeing the carnage as Weiss froze Yang's mouth shut. And Nora's feet together Causing the energetic orange haired girl to face plant. Ren shook his head and picked the girl up by her scruff and appeared to start lecturing her.

I pulled the A10 further into sight. Blake perked up almost instantly when she heard the echoes of the A10's large engines.

I was in sight and close enough I powered the war bird off and let it coast gently towards the group. I took no small pleasure in watching all their faces light up with some form of awe.

Nora looked ready to explode. Ren and Blake looked far more reserved. But Ren's wide eyes betrayed him.

Jaune looked ready to piss himself. He knew what this weapon was capable of. Weiss looked upon it with a strange look of familiarity.

I did not like that. With the knowledge of possibly all of us jets teleporting to remnant. A pit grew in my gut.

The Russian pilots that I saw only confirmed the fact that all of us appeared here. Pickaxe and Airhead maybe somewhere on remnant. A newer larger pit grew in my stomach.

I have a bone to pick with someone if my feeling is correct.

I only counted two dead Russians and no Migs at Salem's fun house. So where were the other three? And the rest of my strike group?

I knew they were dead. I killed Airhead myself and I didn't get to see Pickaxe's fate. But I'm pretty sure he perished.

I pushed the canopy open, and I was immediately assaulted by a Nora-nado.

This time I punched her in the face. Ren once again started lecturing her. This was a common accordance so no one batted an eye. Nora always did this and ended up getting punched or threatened by me.

"Where did you acquire such a vehicle?" That was Weiss. "Always had it, why?" I gruffly responded. Weiss waved a hand. "It just looks familiar to something Winter, '' My sister mentioned" I didn't like that.

I really didn't like the sound of that. What did Ironwood cook up this time? It would explain why that battle cruiser was so close to taking me out.

The pit in my gut coiled in fear of the unknown. A small spark of hate erupted in the well, but it was smothered in practiced ease.

Yang saw the small quirk of my lip and my arms being wrapped around my middle and swiftly distracted me via showing me her arm.

The mother hen she was. Little did I know it wasn't a motherly concern. But something more.

Something I was too dense to notice.

—-

I was circling the train station like a hawk looking for a mouse in a corn field. The A10's howls masked by the winter weather outside the large port. I've already followed the tracks back to Argus twice.

It looked like the Train would be forced to derail whether I wanted to or not. The grim, tenacious bastards Had set up an ambush. "GoFucking figure" I announced to myself. The snow battered the A10 causing large amounts of turbulence.

I didn't fold like most pilots would. I've flown in ruffer skies. Air Force trained… Speaking of trains. The one with the main cast just departed. Maria Calaveria should be with them also.

Ruby needed to learn how her eyes worked and soon. I conveniently Avoided mentioning anything about them. They were already suspicious of me. They being Qrow and Ozpin.

Binn didn't need to be asked about this Miss. I lazaly followed the train. I also did some tricks to kill the boredom. The train was slow, which meant I had to circle back several times.

I'm sure something somewhere was watching this and laughing. I hated this world.

I killed a few grim that strayed far too close for my liking. The airborne grim fell quickly; one controlled burst of freedom ended them.

And after I shot down those three the Train started to get overran at the drop of a hat. I watched in baited breath as the train and the Crewby fought valiantly.

The battle played out just as the one shown in the show. I helped by smiting any grim that was unlucky enough to be spotted away from the train. Just like in the show it derailed. I watched grimly as the front half exploded and the car that detached with the Gang flipped and rolled violently down the snow hill.

The only bit of the train that continued was the greyed out porton with Jnr in it. I sighed in relief. I choose to land near the car with Rwby plus Qrow and Os-Pin in it.

I watched them circle around Ozpin. Alright, that's playing out normally. And suddenly there was a flash and they were frozen like statues. I gaped. 'I should've been included in that?'

I was close enough I thought. The A10 rumbled as it touched snow. I flared the breaks and skidded to a stop near The upturned car. I opened the cockpit and leapt out. And swiftly marched up to Qrow and waved my hand in his vision.

No response. I tried Yang. Samething. Maria was still stock still but her complactive look was still etched into her wrinkled face.

I poked the side of her goggles. She was like a statue. 'Neat'

She unfroze and batted my hand away with a "Bah" Next thing I knew I heard Qrows enraged Growl and the sound of Oscar being sent the the shadowrealm.

I whirled around in time to catch the reincarnates body. Qrow advanced "Hold, that bastard still Chino"

I pulled Oscar back "Whoa, Qrow Wait" Maria walked up to the huntsman and batted him across the head with her cane. I had to suppress a smirk. But this wasn't the situation. The whole group was pissed. Even Ruby had an angry frown on her face.

They just got told their situation was helpless. I would be to. Oscar nursed his cheek in my grip.

Qrow stalked around. The winter air doing nothing to cool the heat in his gaze.

Ruby and Yang being the improvisable Chad's they managed to calm their Uncle and set up a plan.

Like the plot, the plan was to get the lamp to Ironwood, me too I was a maiden now.

I'll raise hell if I get locked up like the other maiden in Atlas. I blurted out that. Qrow eyed me up with a very suspicious look. 'Fuck!' I did it again and threw myself under the damn bus.

The lamp only had one more question. And from the way Qrow grabbed it and called "Jinn"

Qrow was being rash, and I made the mistake of telling him I refused to be locked up like the other maiden.

Yang was my saving grace. She plucked the Lamp from Ruby's belt before Her Uncle. "Firecracker, give me the lamp" Yang made eye contact with her Uncle. "Nope" Qrow's scowl deepened. "You aren't thinking straight old man"

Came her kill shot. Qrow seemed to cool down slightly. "I am not old" Yang hooked the lamp back on Ruby's belt. Her sister let out an indignant "I can do it myself!" Yang didn't respond. But patted her sister on the head.

"Anyway, we need to get going" Thanks Blake. Yang hummed an agreement and the group went to gather there items. Qrow gave me a long and hard look. And I did the teenage response of; "I ain't gunna sit around under Tin boys ass, an do Nothin'"

That saved my ass. "I won't let Jimmy lock you away kid" I managed to convince him I just didn't want to be locked up. Not that I knew another maiden was also under lock and key.

I scraped by via the skin of my teeth again.

The trek to the Brunswick farm was annoying. Mainly because I had to Tie a rope around the A10's front gear and pull it.

What? I wanted to walk with them. Besides I need to warn them about the Apathy at the farm. Yang was giving Maria an annoyed look as the aged huntress hopped between my A10 and her bike. For the millionth time on this trip.

Within Five minutes we arrived at the rundown gate labeled Brunswick farms. Qrow was the first to shove the gate open. And I simply kicked it off its hinges as it swung back. "Asshole" I snorted. "Yeeap" Came his response.

Ruby didn't say anything about our foul lago. I raised a brow.

I skipped ahead of Qrow. and made a big show of looking around the area. "Apathy" I muttered. My acting skills top notch. "What?" Qrow stopped at my side and The rest of the crew fanned out.

In pairs of course. "I said, there might be Apathy here, Scratch that" I walked up to the well. I heard the broken moans and the splashing of water. "There is" Qrow peared into the dark well. The dim glow of red refracting off the murky water below.

He loaded a flare cartridge into harbinger. A fired it straight up. Much like Torchwicks flares from Volume one.

This one fired off with an obnoxious WEEEE. I cringed. Blake's ears folded back from her spot at the garage's fence with Yang. Oscar and Ruby sprinted up to us. Maria Just sat on the nose of the A10 with a cheeky grin on her face.

With everyone assembled around the well Qrow began. "We have a situation, Apathy are below" He kicked at the well. "Anyone daring enough?"

I gave him a pointed look while Maria frowned. Weiss perked a brow in question. Blake and Yang looked as if they didn't have a clue as to what 'Apathy' was.

Ruby didn't either. "Apathy are those slow, psychological grim" Weiss provided. The smack of my palm on my face echoed out. Maria Laughed. Qrow nodded a confirmation.

"Glad to know someone pays attention" Weiss almost preened. "Ice Queen doesn't count" Qrow added.

Weiss was scowling. I smiled in mirth. "I'll make some thermite," I announced. And grabbed Weiss's shoulder and led her to a spare snow covered table.

It took Weiss and I under fifteen minutes to gather up enough resources to make IED's

In total we had about four bulky molotov esques devices. Pumped full of about a gallon of jet fuel and a pound of burn dust.

The A10's never ending supply of Bullshit pulled through.

I call them Fireworks. The geneva convention would call it Warcrimes. Luckily for us I'm free to cobble together whatever Illegal items here that I see fit.

Having a brother that was Bomb squad sure helped. Weiss was disgusted with how fast I turned harmless items into a bomb.

Ruby was amazed. Yang was all for it. And Qrow looked proud. Maria looked on in amusement.

I dropped into the well with all four piled in my arms and begun whipping them like frisbees.

The first one smacked a Apathy in the skull. Causing it to collapse forward. I dropped the second at my feet and whipped the third down the other direction. And for the fourth. I lit the fuze. Made out of some string.

I blew on it until the thin string lit. With a grin I carefully set it down on a rock and used my aura to leap out of the sewer.

Everyone backed away behind the shed while I stole Qrows scroll and started to record.

FWHOOM. A jet of flames as large as a house jutted from the only exhaust port. The well.

"FREEDOOM!" I shouted along with the roar of flames. The cries of the Apathy made my giggling more sinister than it actually was.

The house directly to the right of us splintered, all the windows shattered in quick succession. Sending glass and burning wood flying.

I forgot about the celler. The house pretty much imploded. I made my country proud.

Like a true American. I watched until the flames died down.

There were like six other buildings that could be used as suitable shelter for the night. So I wasn't concerned when the other one lit up in flames. Yang, Blake and Ruby went to search the homes.

Qrow and I collected the bodies of the dead farmer after they were subsequently discovered.

Ruby looked oddly okay to seeing the dead women, men and children.

It concerned both Qrow and I. Yang looked just as concerned as us.

We all decided to stay in the second largest house. Qrow took the first watch. Maria slumped in a chair while Ruby, Weiss and Blake chose to sit in front of the fireplace, that I chose to kindly light using jet fuel.

Yang and I were currently getting wood to feed the fire with. Yang's face was red the entire time we were grabbing wood.

I had to use an old rusty axe to split logs. Yang was forced to retrieve the logs. 'Maybe she's cold?'

I brought the axe down again swiftly splitting a log in two. 'I don't know how, I'm burning up' My crop top was thoroughly soaked with sweat. And was discarded to the snow bank behind me. I was slightly cooler without it and my jacket.

My aura was keeping me warm. But it was like a spotty blanket. So my nose was slightly red and my cheeks were rosey.

We had plenty of wood so I left the axe to rest on the stump. I turned to Yang swiftly and quickly. Her eyes were firmly planted to my middle. "That should be enough for tonight," Yang shook her head. Her ear tips tinted red.

"Are you okay?" I questioned. "Yup!" Yank barked out. Her response was clipped and short.

"Uhh, Okay?" I kneeled and started collecting the split logs. "Care to help, Space Ranger?"

Yang hastily snached up the halved logs.

Within A second she had more than half in her hands. She quickly turned on her heel with a bounce in her step and made her way to the house. The crunching of snow followed the blonde all the way.

"If you were cold, ya could've said so." I muttered. I shouldered the rest of the wood and followed Yang shortly after. Putting on my jacket and crop top.

—-

Qrow insisted that we snuggle up. Because of the blizzard billowing outside. So that's what we did. I frowned. Ruby and I were squished between the older girls. Seeing as we were the youngest Yang demanded that we have the middle spots.

I didn't argue. Qrow found a large ass blanket for us to use. I'm still wallowing in my embarrassment. 'Huddling with girls for warmth..' My manly pride was in tatters at this point.

I felt a hand wrap around my waist. And pull me flush with their body. My face lit up a brilliant red.

Who knew Yang snuggles? Ruby does two. I'm being used as a pillow. Weiss was on Ruby's other side and also sound asleep.

Blake was curled up in a ball next to Yang's backside. Blanket completely covering the bookish girl.

The only tells that she was even there were her ears poking out and the rise and fall of the blanket.

Qrow was slumped in a chair in front of the window. Passed out. Maria was in the recliner with a blanket reading.

I let out a dejected breath and let Yang cradle me in her sleep. Willing myself to sleep.

It didn't take long for the steady heat of the fire and their bodies to lull me into a dreamless sleep.
