"Athrun?"
"Hmm?"
"How was it? Don't you feel better after you actually visit them?"
Athrun didn't say anything other than nodding his head.
"I see," Cagalli smiled even though he couldn't see him. "Glad we could make it this year."
Cagalli was laying on her left side, her left hand was circling Athrun's body who was lying beside her. Her other hand was on his head—which was resting on her chest, as she was running her fingers on his midnight blue strands.
Today was the only day Athrun would deliberately be clingy to her. Usually he would be the one who held her in his arms. But just this day, every year after they were together, Athrun would let himself be held like this, like a child clinging to his mother seeking for warmth that he had been longing for, but would never be able to get back again.
Even more so after he visited his parents' graves, today, at the anniversary of his mother's death.
"Thanks for coming here with me." He held her even closer to him.
"Don't mention it," Cagalli kissed the top of his head.
Valentine's day is supposed to be one sweet day to celebrate with your loved ones, but I feel like it will always had a layer of sadness with asucaga because of Lenore's tragic death. Most of valentine's day canon asucaga fics I read were real tear-jerker.
A day late here in my country, but yeah, here you go
